It make mysql server failed and when i try to restart got this

Eximstats / Mysql Failed
After a reboot mysql / eximstats remain failed. I received no errors on restart eximstats, exim, mysql or cpanel. I did a forced mysql upgrade and forced exim upgrade. chmod 1777 /tmp did not help either. What could be the cause? Everything else is green.

How To Make Mod_rewrite Work On New Apache Server
we've been running our software on apache 1.3 for years with no problems. We have a new server running apache2 and now none of our mod_rewrite works. Is there something extra that needs to be done with apache 2 to get mod_rewrite working? The module is definitely loaded (first thing I checked). If we turn on allowOverride from None to All in the httpd.conf we get completely blank pages. Our regular php pages work fine with allowoverride set to none, but they all break when it is set to all. Please help. This is the second time we have run into this on apache 2 servers.

How To Make An Image Of A Server And It's Current Configuration
I have had 2 drives fail on me in 2 weeks, and had to completely redo my server's configuration and security. I would like to tell my tech to make an image of the current server, just so that the firewall and settings are all saved, and can be restored if this happpens again. How should I go about doing this, and what can I tell my tech to do so that he does this in the best, most efficient way? I have 2 live websites on there now (not an insane amountt of traffic), so I am assuming the sites current state will be in the image, which I don't mind, as I can just restore a recent site backup if the site happens to go down again. Please let me know your thoughts! ( i am assuming i should try to delete as much junk off of the server as possible to make the image smaller)

Make Cpbackup Ignore Server Load
My server load on my server is very high, but my server is not slow, my memory usage is fine, my CPUs are handling everything fine so it's not really a problem... except I've got a lot of "sleeping processes" which seem to increase the server load but not affect the server really. My problem is, cpbackup refuses to run when it decides the server load is too high. So, is there a way to make it run no matter what the server load is? Because I do want backups to run again... The server load never goes down because these things are always running, so running it at early hours of the morning doesn't make a difference.

I host my DNS with DNSmadeeasy.com , I noticed that I have daily more than 350.000 DNS requests for main domain, This domains got about 80.000 uniqes/day, so this is strange how can there be 350.000 DNS requests/day. Seems that I'll go over the quota because of this. The TTL for all domains is set to 86400. Is there a way to discover how its possible ? And also is there a way to do something to make this number lower (DNS requests)

I have example.com as a reseller account hosted on a shared server. I have ns1.example.com and ns2.example.com on that server and client domains use these nameservers. I want to move to a VPS for more control and so I have acquired vps.example.com. This also has vps_ns1.example.com and vps_ns2.example.com with it. Can I move everything to the VPS? Assuming that I move the files over, if I simply changed the DNS of example.com to point to nameservers vps_ns1(and 2).example.com, what would happen? Have I made it over complicated for me to understand, and it's actually a lot easier than I think? Or have I shot myself in the foot by using vps.example.com as the name for the VPS? I am using cPanel/WHM for both servers.

Make Downloading Files From My Site/server Faster
Ive been recieving some complaints/feedback that the download speed on my site is too slow. I test it myself and at night i download at about 60k/s, late at night, mornings its around 300kb/s Im guessing my site is basically getting high traffic and load issues in the evenings. (average daily bandwidth is around 200-300gb) So basically i need to rectify this pronto. What are the possible solutions? i thought if i bought a second cheaper server that could step in when the load gets too much for my primary server this could help out the speeds. Am i correct, are there cheaper ways of speeding things up?

I/O Operation Failed - Server Down
We are having a dedicated server with Windows 2003 and Hosting Controller on it with MS SQL 2005 Express Edition. Since last few days, we had this problem that MDaemon mail server would go down on some pagefault and server used to get hang, and when we investigated Event Viewer, we find 100s of errors of the following message. The Registry could not read in, or write out, or flush, one of the files that contain the system's image of the Registry We replaced HDD, and reinstalled windows 2003 and built the server back with every peice of software we had it earlier, but now the old HDD is still there as D drive, but not in use, still server got down today. We belive its no longer the HDD issue, but now problem is how to get root of this problem and how to monitor? I had minor hint from searching on google that some trojan would create too many handles would cause system to go down this way, but here we rebuilt the entire server with fresh installations downloaded from vendors websites. If MDaemon is creating too many handles, how to monitor and how to restart it in such an event?

Apache Failed, On Cpanel Server
my apache has failed. I was setting up the try out section for RVSITEBUILDER ([url] I performed the run /scripts/restartsrv httpd task and now Apache has failed. So i first undid what i have just done and tried doing run /scripts/restartsrv httpd but still no luck, so i then tried /scripts/rebuildhttpdconf and then /scripts/restartsrv httpd but still no luck. I then tried the WHM > Software > EasyApache (Apache Update) to rebuild Apache and after doing that, it came up with an error and still Apache will not start gracefully. The only way i can get apache to start is by using: 'apachectl start' But i have noticed that any secure https websites are not working.

What Will Make You Switch Hosts
If your happy with your current hosting provider why change? Maybe you have found a better deal, but is it really worth it to switch to save a few bucks if your happy, I would say no. What if you have noticed major changes in loading time? What if there has been downtime? What if they dont offer the support you need when you need it. If a hosts changes prices on you?

Medialayer Says They Can't Make The Change
I've been hosting with medialayer for a while now, and to date have had quite few problems with their hosting/uptime/etc. I host my main website's support site with them, and have recently run into a few issues... issues which I'm not sure how to resolve. The thing is, the helpdesk developer was recently looking into our setup, and found there are some issues. He has requested that the open_basedir be modified to a particular value for our vhost (which to my knowledge, is not a security threat, etc.). Medialayer says they can't make the change, because of how directadmin works, it won't be permanent. At the same time, the developer says it is possible to do this and make it a permanent change through this file /usr/local/directadmin/data/templates/virtual_host.conf ... Now I am unsure as how to resolve the issue because I need this change made, but am not sure it is possible, or who is wrong and who is right. I'm not trying to point fingers, but I would really like to know what the best thing to do in this situation is.

As a VPS customer, are you more likely to spend slightly more on a provider providing the same specs but Virtuozzo instead of HyperVM? Why or why not? I'd love to hear some people's opinions on the matter, as I know people are very divided as to whether Virtuozzo is better than HyperVM or not.

FreeBSD Make.conf
I was playing with a backup machine I have today. It's been running FreeBSD 6.3 a while now. I just realised today that CPUTYPE in make.conf was set wrong. When I set it to what it should be, according to the list of valid values, I got odd errors during world and kernel rebuilds, along with some from some ports. I googled it and found many people do not suggest setting that directive in make.conf. May I ask if anybody has experience with this, and what impact it would have on my box should I remove the directive and recompile?

Cannot Make Directory Via SSH
I'm trying to create a directory, "hello", so I log in via SSH and CD to /proc, as this is where I want the directory to be. I type, "mkdir hello" and I get the following; mkdir: cannot create directory `hello': No such file or directory I've searched around for the error, and I've found two mentioned problems; Persmissions Parent directory doesn't exist. However, the parent directory; /proc does exist and it has the permissions 7777.
