View 9 RepliesDo you use any uptime monitoring service? If so, which one do you use? Do you use a paid monitoring service, or a free one?
View 14 Replies View RelatedI'd like to know if there are good monitoring services to monitor my VPS.
Not just the website, but everything on the VPS.
I know there is Hyperspin, but i need more to look at.
I want to get an alert by email if there is something wrong with my server.
Also i'd like to receive daily reports by email.
Since this weekend I have a managed VPS from ServInt,I really like it.
They manage and monitor my VPS,but I also like to monitor my VPS,just for fun ;-)
Is there a free monitoring service like Hyperspin to monitor my server?
Is there any third party free VPS internet connection monitoring service that notifies when there is no internet connection?... I know there are lots of website uptime montioring services.... but I use VPS for using windows applications and no web page and I need to know if there is an internet connection failure...... Is there any third party service that checks this and it will not be hosted by me but the service ?.... I need to know when there is a fialure in the internet connection... It can ping or use other ways...
Another thing I am looking for is a software that notifies me by email when the windows VPS is restarted without my attendance....
especially for the internet monitoring?
any recommendations for a website availability monitoring service? That is, I'd like a service that checks my site regularly, say every 5 minutes, and then calls my cellphone /txts-me if it ever goes down.
Googling around turns up a sizable number of places that do this. But, I'd like to make I'm going with somebody who's reasonably good.
any free scripts that allow you to monitor uptime status of your servers, local/remote?
most simplistically, just have one server that pings / http requests from other servers to see if they're online, and generates stats.
more ideally, be able to set up multiple checking nodes (like what host-tracker does) so it can check uptime of multipel servers from multiple locations and build reports.
What do you guys use for server monitoring?
I have been looking to find a good solution to notify me when either of my 3 servers go down. Preferably by SMS.
I have been trying [url].
But it seems to have a massive delay. from 1 hour, to 6 hours.
I've been trying to find a decent and reasonably priced website/server monitoring service that alerts me by SMS and email if something goes down. I have 3 HTTP addresses and one HTTPS I'd like to check in 5 minute intervals.
Have you had any good experiences with services like this?
one of my dedicated is a kind of semi managed.
They guys monitor it 24 hours and if some thing goes wrong like
apache is dead they fix it.
how can I limit their access and authoriy over my Server while
I can let them to monitory my server!
I know nothing about server management and my other dedi is mully managed not this one.
"No strings attached" - [url]
I use Pingdom "Pro" (or whatever the paid version is to be branded as), and I think it is fantastic. It is yet to let us down or misinform us. It'll be interesting to see whether we see quality dilution from the inevitable rush of freebie accounts.
I have a Server with Centos7 + Plesk 12 and in the service configuration say that the Bind service is not installed, from command line i have install named services and make a manual configuration the first domain, but when I return to the service page in plesk... the problem is the same, the Bind Service is not installed; then the problem is when i want create a new hosting i need to go to the ssh to make the DNS configuration...

Deleted a domain workspace in Parallels Plesk and now I am getting this error when signing into the panel:Looked at the logs and been trying multiple commands (including the bootstrapper repair etc.)I found the full error from the logs:

We are currently using Parallel Plesk 11.0 version and there is one requirement from microsoft provider to add the exact same values in SRV Records.
Priority of Service = 100
Weight of Service = 1
but these values are not available in the dropdownlist. attached are the screenshots.
Clean install on openSUSE 13.1
After deleting a domain, we got the following error which rendered the panel useless.

I have been using uppanel.com but am looking for a service with more regular checks and no limitations.
to monitor our VPS's customers, not our up time but our VPS customer sites resource usage.
Maybe a mixture between TOP/PS and WHM|Server Status|Apache Status
Summarized by domain in a period of time.
Our VPS is going blackzone many times/day and I need to find in real time the actual offending site or application.
I need something that tell me in plain english:
- Site XXX is taking all your VPS resources
- Application XXX is just bombing your VPS
- Close port XXX because your're under hacking
Plz show me some software which monitor bandwidth for each website used.

We need a good (best?) network/hardware monitoring application for monitoring our servers located at 3 different datacenters and around 50 servers.. I've founded some programs but they don't cover my needs 100%
Basicly I need these;
- Adding servers easily.
- Adding monitoring channel for each servers. (load, network, disk/ram usage etc..)
- Adding users and attaching users to servers seperately.
(For example I will add justify user and attach him to server1, will add wht user and attach him the server2 and their permissions will be different and they will have no control on other's servers.)
- Web based controller for users/admins
- I want to install it to my windows/linux servers and monitor all remotely..
- SMS / mms / msn / email / icq notifications.
- Ability to post/get notification.
What are some good monitoring companies that can keep track of downtime. Even more specifically looking for companies that can send an sms alert or possibly reboot the server following ceartin instructions during a downtime.
Though please provide all suggestion (even if they don't do the above).
Give me 1000GB or 2000GB and that's my limit that I'll try and not go over. Pretty
simple.
However, I'm now dealing with a provider that has me really confused. This company is charging us based on 95th percentile and we're now being asked to commit to 8.5 MBPS while the server doesn't even go over 1500GB monthly bandwidth limit.
Is this correct:
- We're not using tons of bandwidth but we do have large bursts
- The company is ultimately charging you for the bursts
how can i find out who is using up all the resources of 1 of my server, i am running CENTOS Enterprise 5.2 i686 on standard - WHM X v3.1.0, i have around 180 web site currently on this server and i would like to move my customer how need more power.
or limit my customers to 10% of the server resources for no longer than 10min.
I'm currently gathering a list of all VPS providers that offer proactive VPS (services etc...) monitoring. So far I know that Wiredtree and Liquidweb include it and Zone.net and Futurehosting (to a limited extent) offers it as an add-on. Anyone else have any that they know of?
