Hosting Site With 10GB Download Files

Oct 24, 2009

I want to know the best offer for hosting my site:

I've 10 GB dowloadable files zip, mp3,...

I need to host at least 10 Domains and unlimited SubDomains.

PHP5 and at least 10 MySQL DBs.

I prefer Umlimited Bandwidth and Ulimited visitors hits.

I've a forum with +22k I prefer to e-mail them weekly so I want to know outgoing e-mails limit.

It will be good if there is a Shell access.

Securing My Site So Only Registered Users Can Download Files

Nov 14, 2007

I'm setting up a web site for my online music library, doing it the hard way and learning as I go!

What I want to do I keep all the audio files secure so only registered users can get at them, how do I do this? FTP? permissions? Can I pass the user data from the client database somehow or do I have to set it up manually for each client?

I'm using php and mysql and have a table set up with all the file locations in it and that side of things is mostly working well. Once a user gets the URL of the file how do I make sure only that user can download the file?

I've tried searching the web for info but I have the sneaking suspicion I'm not asking the right question.

I'm using oscommerce on a PHP5/Apache 2 installation. I've got several virtualhosts, and I'm using webmin to administrate them. How To Automaticaly Download All Files In A Folder Via FTP

May 7, 2007

I am having trouble with moving my files to another server.

i have 1 servers, 1 hosting account (no ssh), both are using different control panel and i need to move all of the media files(movies) in the hosintg account to other server since hosting account contract will expire soon.

So, i am thinking of using FTP to transfer multiple files using mget command for FTP. But the thing is i will need to be there any press enter( to accept download) for every single files to be download. Which is very time consuming since i have hundred of files to move.

So my question is:
1/ is there a better way to move files in this situation?

2/ or Is there a shell script that i can use to download all of the file to my server without pressing enter accepting every single file?

Downloading Files From My Site/server Faster

Dec 22, 2008

Ive been recieving some complaints/feedback that the download speed on my site is too slow.

I test it myself and at night i download at about 60k/s, late at night, mornings its around 300kb/s

Im guessing my site is basically getting high traffic and load issues in the evenings.

(average daily bandwidth is around 200-300gb)

So basically i need to rectify this pronto.

What are the possible solutions?

i thought if i bought a second cheaper server that could step in when the load gets too much for my primary server this could help out the speeds.

Am i correct, are there cheaper ways of speeding things up?

Plesk 12.x / Linux :: What Happens To Site Backup Files When Deleted From Panel

Dec 15, 2014

When you delete a site backup from its "Backup Manager" Panel, it is removed and no longer displayed in the Panel. However, I cannot tell if this action actually does anything with the real site backup files in "/var/lib/psa/dumps". Does this action merely remove it from PSA's database but not touch any actual files? If this is true, then how are site backup files supposed to be managed if this action doesn't actually delete them?

Hosting Review Site Or Top 3 Hosting Co. For Shared Hosting

Apr 23, 2009

I'm trying to find at least three web hosting companies to choose from to host a Joomla websites on a shared server. Would consider dedicated if the deal was right. I have a friend of mine who wants to create a church website, and is looking for the best deal. I use Netfirms which I have never had an issue with, but I didn't want to be bias, and would like give him other options to choose from.

Is there a good WebHosting Review site, I could check out, or maybe someone could recommend their top three. I reading threw the forums here and I noticed there are not that many complaints with Hostgator. Again, I just want to see if there was anything out there better.

By this I mean, the most competitive for users like me who are just learning the technology and maybe want to set up some basic book examples online using SQL 2005.

Hosting Site

Oct 3, 2007

I have looked far and wide for a hosting company that supports ASP.NET as well has SQL server (and that allows remote connections via MS Enterprise Man). I have used Godaddy for years, but trying to access a SQL or MySQL db for development is complicated and pathetic. I have looked at many new Hosting CO's, including m6,1and1,ixwebhosting,************,hostmonster,bluehost, and others mentioned here; but All I can find is dozens of reviews, mostly bad and very few good, on about ANY company that I google for except the ($20+) monthly ones. I have found a site called reliablesite.net, that interests me. (I am non profit org paying out of my pocket). I have seen good reviews but a couple that are very 'bad' for me, such as no sites hosted on this provider, no phone number or where the company is at. Any insights on the provider. I am needing an ASP.NET / SQL provider (low volume traffic). (I found a reliable ? discountasp.net but there price w/SQL is too high..) , so am looking at reliablesite.net. Just tired of looking at dozens of bad reviews on about any site I google for...

Moving Files From One Hosting To Another

Aug 7, 2008

I'm trying to migrate my vps to another server, and basically I need to move the entire public_html directory from first server to the second. As its almost 2.5 gb, downloading and ftping isn't really an option, so I'm thinking i need to tar and then gzip it, and then somehow transfer it diectly.

so my question is what is the proper command to use for tar and gzip in this case? and what method to transfer. should i use wget or is there a better way. Once i have it on my destination server how do i untar it, and what path will it untar to?

Files Hosting Like Rapidshare

Nov 1, 2009

First of all I should say sorry for my English, it's not good but I hope you can understand it.

I have a downloads site where most of the content are .zip and .rar files. I use about 300GB/month of bandwith, and it's growing a lot so I decided to move the files to a file-based hosting.

So, I'm looking for a service like Rapidshare, Megaupload... in their premium accounts. I need:

· About 300GB of monthly bandwith or more.

· About 5GB of hard disk space.

The main purpose is to share files, so I don't need any database, php support or any other thing... just file sharing.

I want to spend about 100€/120$ on it every year.

I was thinking on an "unlimited" hosting as HostGator, but the ToS of must of them says it's not allowed to use it as a file sharing account.

Hosting Large Flv Files

Oct 6, 2008

I have a customer who wants to sell access to videos of conferences he runs.

Each flv vid is approx 1 - 1 1/2 hors long approx 380MB each and there will be about 12 videos per conference.

approx 4 - 8 conferences per year.

My customer suggests 10 - 20 people will buy access to watch each video.

Access to watch the videos will be through a password protected webpage.

issue - the current site hosting company only allow uploads up to 150MB per file.

Can I host the flash videos elsewhere and deliver them through the password protected web page without anyone else being able to see them via server they are hosted on?

This would also reduce the bandwidth going through his current site server.

Best Adult Hosting Site!?

Jul 28, 2008

I'm after some hosting for some adult content (nothing too bad!) as my current host won't allow it (no big loss, they're atrocious anyway)

Preferably something UK or US based, not too bothered either way as long as it's fairly reasonable in price and has a good service.

Not sure about bandwidth limits, to say the site is in it's early stages would be an understatement, but something flexible would be good.
