The cPanel on my dedicated server which I recently purchased from siterollout.com is giving me lotsa trouble. I never even touched cPanel settings, its been like that ever since I purchased it.
I have a new dedicated server (my first one) with CentOS and Cpanel, and after a restart I can't access any web or ftp service... wasn't it supposed to autostart whith the system boot?
Another dumb problem I'd like to ask about: I've changed the ssh port for security puroposes, and now I can't acces ssh neither though the old port or he new one... could this be a firewall issue? How can I solve it now without ssh? :-/
Cpanel installed on Centos 5.2 on a dedicated server.
This morning, I received multiple emails about services being restarted. About 20 minutes apart, with nothing that I coudl see going on with the server, I had multiple services fail and restart.
How do I trouble shoot this to see if there is a problem?
At 6:21 The following services failed: httpd lfd httpd cpsrvd lfd and I received emailed messages similar to these (obviously the port and service name were didfferent in each email). cpsrvd failed @ Sat Nov 15 06:21:29 2008. A restart was attempted automagically. Failure Reason: Unable to connect to port 2086 Then, at 6:42 The following services failed: cpsrvd cpsrvd httpd lfd httpd lfd and I received emailed messages similar to these (obviously the port and service name were didfferent in each email). cpsrvd failed @ Sat Nov 15 06:21:29 2008. We have a VPS Server from one of the most reputable VPS Provider. We have 384 Guaranteed RAM and 1GB Burst. We have Dual Core AMD Opteron(tm) Processor 265 - 1795.503 MHz with 1024 KB cached allocated to our VPS.
It is only hosting 2 average forums (10-15 concurrent users in total) and 30 small websites, low traffic websites.
The problem we are having is, almost 3 times a week, the cPanel, named and apache services keeps stopping. I am monitoring our server when this is happen and prior to the event its only using about 300MB RAM and low CPU..
What could be causing this problem? Do I need to upgrade our RAM?
my apache has failed. I was setting up the try out section for RVSITEBUILDER ([url]
I performed the run /scripts/restartsrv httpd task and now Apache has failed.
So i first undid what i have just done and tried doing run /scripts/restartsrv httpd but still no luck, so i then tried /scripts/rebuildhttpdconf and then /scripts/restartsrv httpd but still no luck.
I then tried the WHM > Software > EasyApache (Apache Update) to rebuild Apache and after doing that, it came up with an error and still Apache will not start gracefully.
The only way i can get apache to start is by using: 'apachectl start'
But i have noticed that any secure https websites are not working.
I have not been able to login to my cPanel from my desktop which runs WinXP service Pack3. Both Firefox and Internet Explorer returns the following error message
Login Attempt Failed!
Also, I am unable to connect using Filezilla Client.
However, I am able to connect to the same cPanel on my colleague's desktop which runs WinXP service Pack3 using Firefox browser or IE. We both share the same internet modem.
- I have cleared all the cookies and private data on my desktop. Still the problem persist.
- I changed to a different user on my desktop, but still could not login.
- I changed my desktop IP address but still I could not log in.
I use DSLinux from within Innotek Virtual Box and I was able to login to the same cPanel with the same details that were rejected under WinXP.
Please anyone with a solution should please advise me on what to do. Thanks in advance.
It is not convenient going to my colleagues desk to access my cPanel.
