I am currently searching for something around $50.00 to do so per month, preferably cheaper. This is to host a nonprofit website and their email/collaboration system.
It seems that SA is not so good at learning because I have seen email from people to whom I have emailed tens of times considered as SPAM by SA.
Is it possible to make SA to whitelist every email address I send an email to?
I'm just working with my first dedicated server and also in the process of coding a new site. Anyway, I've gotten around to emailing users from scripts on my site (Java Servlet). Using Sendmail as the server (with default config) the emails are detected as spam by pretty much everything.
I'm looking for a complete list of things which need to be done to ensure an email isn't detected incorrectly as spam. I've read through various sites etc but haven't found a definitive list of things which should be done. I'm sure this would be helpful for other forum visitors too.
I'm NOT trying to send spam or anything like that but I haven't set up a dedicated server before.
I have been struggling for the last 24 hours with setup of Zimbra on a VPS environment with 1gb dedicated RAM. In all cases, after the standard installation pains, I was able to get the actual interface up and running just fine. It allows the admin to log in to both admin and the client interface, however no messages can successfully be sent.
I am unaware what the root cause of my problem is at this point, so kindly require further assistance. I am pretty sure there are no conflicts at this point as most all other services have been disabled, as this is a box dedicated for Zimbra, and the standard HTTP has been set to 88. I can access the site just fine at port 88 but sending mail, even to the local admin account that was set up during installation (the only email accont set up on this box) results in an error message after 8 seconds that reads:

I do believe tomcat is running and is just fine, however. I am able to access the Zimbra interface just fine, can restart tomcat without error, and see intensive java usage in top (which looks normal).
I am most familiar with CentOS and intended on using this distribution, however had no success. I then switched to Ubuntu install. It appears things installed much smoother, but I'm having the same problem.
A records for cleo.ewebzone.net have bee propertly set, as have a mx record on the authorative DNS server for the root domain, ewebzone.net. The name of my zimbra box is obviously cleo.ewebzone.net.

So I have a website that requires a service be installed on the server (Wowza media server). I'm just not sure what I need to be able to do this. The service will get little use overall, but it is required.
From what I can tell this means I need some form of dedicated server, but that is an awfully large jump in cost when I get minimal use out of the service. That said, if it is the only option I will go for it.
So my question is, are there any options aside from dedicated servers that would let me install a service? If not, how cheap do you think I could get a dedicated server for?

2. How about the best control panel to use:
- Plesk
- Cpanel
3. Do I need to install on the the server just the
Shoutcast Server file or also the DSP and Transcoder
for Unix (sc_trans_lame)?
4. I also need the Cast-Control software to manage the
accounts and streams, but according to the instalation
manual I need to use a MySQL Configuration ?
Because I dont know nothing about SQL databases!
I have a problem to install a service node. In task, I have this error:

I followed the instructions, but mysql don't display my new server.

I am trying to find the best economical solution regarding my email address but I need some advice pls.
I have a very small package with asmallorange and I have set up one of my business email in it. I didn't calculate that this business email could take so much space. I have some assistants which work in other places. One of my problems is these asistants who need to access this address too, are not allowed to access any free email provider like gmail, yahoo at their work computers because of their work policy. So I can't do forwarding and I need to have this email address under my domain.
I am thinking of these options:
1) Get more space . This will become expensive for me.
2) use a dedicated email service under my domain name.
I have no experience here and I wonder if using a gmail service under my domain will be blocked for my collaborators.
3) change host ( I am afraid to lose my data and my website database).
We are a hosting company in Colombia, and we want start selling corporate email service.
The main idea is have two servers with redundance, I think this servers have to share the filesystem I don't know if using a scsi disk or just a network file system. We also want to have a good appliance for stop the SPAM, Im not so sure if we need to have redundance on it, its ideal but we are just starting the bussines and we dosn't have cliets yet.
Can anyone share their setup with us, and give us recomendations or tips?

This email offline service is use catch-all funtion to work. I have tested with my VPS and installed kerio mail software to test. It worked okie but i have a problem . My customer can't check bandswidth and space mailbox of them when they were using my service/monthly.
Now i need a control panel that can manage BW and space of account used to in monthly. Don't need control panel look like plesk, CPanel, HELM, HC...because it's full of funtion but so expensive..

We have a script that will be sending out emails from our server. A few already have hit the Outlook SPAM folder. The email that's sent is a validation check, where the user has to click a link to verify an account.
Is there some service out there where you can send it your email and it will tell you if and then why it will be caught by leading spam filters?
Currently we are running a very successful site for extreme sports. We have just spent 6 months on development of our new site which we will launch in a fortnight. This will free up some of my time to look at other areas and avenues to attract members.
Personally I would love to run a hotmail style service on our website, and believe this would help with the growth of our online community.
Just interested in advice from others on areas to be aware and alert when running a service like this?

View 3 Replies View RelatedI have a busy dating website with 30 000 registered users and ~200-600 users online all the time. I would like to offer free email with ~10 MB mailbox to all users.
I have an idea to use scripts provided by b1gmail.de. Its similar to Hivemail or Socketmail. It uses only one POP3 catch-all mailbox and stores all emails in MySQL database, including attachments.
My worries are about MySQL. If I have 30 000 users and each user has some 5000 messages in his/her mailbox:
30 000 x 5 000 = 150 000000
That's 150 million rows in one table!
I know, not all users will have 50000 messages in their mailboxes, but the number of users increases about +2000/month.
I can't imaggine how long time will need MySQL to find messages for each user in the table with 150 000000 rows.
I don't know - maybe it's not a problem at all. I just never had such large tables and I don't know if it's possible at all.
Another problem: I have Fedora Core 2 installed and even don't know yet if it supports files larger than 2 GB.
Maybe it's better to set-up normal POP3 mailboxes for all users instead of using one catch-all box and storing data in MySQL?
do not post warnings about spammers. In the beginning I'll provide email addresses only to "gold" members. I opened this thread because I don't want to set-up a system which will hang after a couple of months because MySQL will not be able to handle it or I will have other unknown problems.
Plesk delivering email locally to a not existing mailbox instead of sending it to an external party. First I was using a local mailbox, but my client wanted to control the email using their own server. So I've changed the MX records to this new server. Deleted the inbox in Plesk and turned off Mail support for this domain.
New situation: DNS server for domain.com is hosted on a different location and points to my Plesk server for the website and the MX records point to the clients server for the mail.
Email send from email addresses like gmail are send correctly to the clients server. Email addresses from my PLesk server and forms from the website are send locally.
I just got a vps server with plesk 12 on it. I've added domains and so far so good. But I can't figure out how to install the email accounts.
I've made de email accounts and when adding these accounts to my mail program I wanted to use mail.domain.com or imap.domain.com But it doesn't work? And I need to use the smtp host of the internetprovider?
How can I use imap.domain.com and smtp.domain.com to get and send my emails?
Also Is there any way how to check if my server is installed ok and there are no security issues? Because I'm a noob I don't know what the best settings are?
I have a Server with Centos7 + Plesk 12 and in the service configuration say that the Bind service is not installed, from command line i have install named services and make a manual configuration the first domain, but when I return to the service page in plesk... the problem is the same, the Bind Service is not installed; then the problem is when i want create a new hosting i need to go to the ssh to make the DNS configuration...

We are currently using Parallel Plesk 11.0 version and there is one requirement from microsoft provider to add the exact same values in SRV Records.
Priority of Service = 100
