If everyone can take a look at this (while all domains were turned off) and give me any advice to what is eating up resources so badly? The load averages are at 1.3+ with only yum trying to run on the box and it has already been running to nearly two hours were this would typically take 10-15 minutes max prior.

I have a VPS, and i wanted to know if the CPU / Load Average that shows at my Plesk control panel reports only the usage of my part of the server cpu, or if it is the real/complete cpu usage for the entire server?
So in a simple way, is another user with a vps at the same server is doing a high cpu task at is vps, will it show at my plesk cpu load average?
I have to move about 50 GB each night from one server to another.

I'm using blowfish, which will reduce cpu load, and also limiting bandwidth transfer, usign -l 18000. How ever, I still do see some high load averages..
Do you have any other suggestion to optimize CPU performance while running scp?
I have a server with Core2Duo E6600 CPU, 4 gigs of RAM and 2x250 GB HDD's. What is the "normal" load average I can expect having ~50 websites running on it with medium visits. My current load averages (and most of the time ones) are: load average: 0.24, 0.13, 0.16
I have a new Quad core server which has a high load average. Only hosting about 200 sites on it and they are not database sites. Only a few MySQL sites.
I use CSF on a VPS with 512 RAM and 1024 Busrt and the other day I received the below notification. My hostsaid it was Mailman and since I don't use mailing lists the recommendationwas to disable it. So I did. I'm curious tho as to why this happened in the first place.

2 of our our servers are suddenly experiencing high Wait I/O Times, and high Load Averages during the backup process. During this period the Plesk grinds to a halt, sometimes crashing out completely (although SSh is still possible. We have been in talks with our server suppliers (assuming this would be node related) however they have done a lot of testing etc. and categorically state the node is fine , with no other users affecting it.
STEPS TO REPRODUCE : We backup the server using the scheduled backup service and Wait I/O immediately goes up.
ACTUAL RESULT: Plesk downtime / Website downtime
EXPECTED RESULT: No downtime, successful back up
Some other info : All other processes (MYSQL, apache, Nginx etc) are all running between 1 - 10%

We are struggling to identify what has changed on the server that would cause this sudden change.
Having a reseller account(didn't need it, but was talked into it originally), on the average how many domains should I expect to be hosted on one IP? Right now I show 466 for my IP. This is more for curiosity at this point than anything.
I am considering adding offsite secondary backup servers in house on a full T1 (multiple? or a fractional T3?). Servers will be located in Ontario Canada. Does anyone know the average, upper, and lower cost for a full or even partial T1? I am trying to go as cheap as possible since the line probably wont be used unless the datacenter looses service.

My VPS from VPSVille is down more than 6:30h i have immediately open a ticket and have not receive response my ticket status is NOT VIEWED. Usually their response time is way faster. I have open another ticket thinking that there is mabye ticket error and thay have not receive the first one and 1h befora i have open the fist ticket about the problem i have send them another ticket about sales and so far no reply.
I have sugest them multiple times and now i`m vary disapointed.
So what is your average responce time from your VPS provider about ctitical problem and ticket marked with HIGHT priority ?
I'm on a vps using Dell PowerEdge Servers and 750 GB of transfer.
I have concurrent users settings to where i now have them at "50" and I'm wondering how much higher i can go without troubles.
My app is a perl cgi script in flat files and 95% of visitors will pass through my domain without seeing my webpage. They are only there approx 1 second, maybe 2 as they are quickly redirected from this platform.
My host has a custom solution installed to check for apache stalls every few minutes and it will restart apache when it sticks - and it will stick from time to time.
Just now i do about 75000 per day but plan to double to 150,000 next week and soon after will triple to 225,000 visitors per day.
Should i increase concurrent users now in prep for the increase to 150k or at what level.
Please give some suggestions for concurrent settings at future traffic levels. This host has a multiple server set up in case one fails - i should be good, i think.
I have a few vps on different providers and I was shoring up my hostnames to make them more cohesive for the different servers.
I placed a request with a well-known, premium vps provider this morning at 9am EDT and am still awaiting them to complete the host name change. They came back immediately and said an admin would have to handle and then noting for hours. At approx 2p EDT, I asked for an update and I received a response at nearly 4pm EDT saying they were still waiting for their admin to get back.
Keep in mind this is a fully-managed, not cheap, vps with a very good rep here on wht.
Am I expecting too much?

I have some small colo in an a DC that I have actual transfer basis on each server. Now they give me MRTG graphs and they say they go by what the switch reports for when they bill me. I haven't had an issue until this month when one of my servers which I only have one TB with was reported using 1372GB on their switch.
Now on my MRTG graphs it reported the monthly graph as the following:
Average In: 2360.8 kb/s (2.4%) 763.855996 GB Average Out: 471.7 kb/s (0.5%) 152.6205485 GB
This reports under 1TB, so I thought that I was okay on my usage. Am I wrong in thinking that the average usage and actual usage should be very similar? I figured since MRTG takes how much you transfer every 5 minutes and averages that over 300 seconds to find the rate that it would report basically the same average usage as my actual usage.
I'm about to move 31 machines into a 42U full cabinet
Previously I was on an uncapped bandwidth provider but we had a lot of problems with them so I decided to find a new provider who charges bandwidth by mbps
I do not have mrtg installed or managed switches, but I may start with 10mbps.
But I'm just curious, what takes a full cabinet with more than 30 machines does the total bandwidth takes you.
Perhaps any colo provider here don't mind to share their stats.
