I am undergoing heavy SMTP attack, if i accept all connections in RELAY setting of SMTP
If i grant access only to Server IP, then attack stops, but all emails send, start bouncing back to me, as relay failed.

Aug 31, 2007Rather than just tagging the subject with ***SPAM***. Am I going to have to recompile spam assassin in order to get that working? I have a client of mine who wants all spam just removed before it hits his inbox. Is there a setting somewhere in cpanel that I am missing for this? Possible just to apply it to one domain name?

Aug 30, 2013Is there not a way to change the default for the spam assassin level when creating a new mail account and still have the ability to change it individually if needed?
I changed it in the spamassassin config file /etc/mail/spamassassin/local.cf and in the server mail settings, but it still reads 7 when I create a new account and go to turn on the spam filtering. Does this value come from the db?
I can write a script making api calls? but surely there is a way to change the defaults and still have the ability to change these from the default for each account if needed?

May 15, 2008I've been getting a lot of "Undeliverable" emails sent to my email address. On these messages, the spammer is using my email on the "From" part of the email...... So whenever he sends out spam, the person(s) getting spammed think it's from me..... And the thousands of Undeliverable email error messages are also sent to me.

Jan 31, 2008I'm not sure if this is the right place to be posting this, but at our hotel, we have wireless routers (Linksys) that any of our clients can use to connect their laptops to the internet. We have been getting reports from our ISP that spam has been coming from our external IP address, so I wanted to know what people would recommend as ways to combat either our computers or any of our clients' computers from sending out spam. The internet is connected through a firewall/server computer running linux. I thought about blocking port 25, but I'm sure we would have clients complaining about not being able to send any mail.

I use ConfigServer Security & Firewall http://www.configserver.com/cp/csf.html which can block IP's that exceed a number of SMTP connections per hour. But these are thousands of IPs and proxies. Is there anything else I can do?
