I'm thinking about setting up a forum for my school, and I thought it would be better to go with a Vbulletin or IPB script for the forum. I don't really want to buy a lifetime license, so I looked at the IPB official hosting section and I have some questions. Has anyone used them and know how good their hosting is?
How can my user use MSSQL management studio to restore the DB? Whenever my user try to browse for the db file, he can't browse to his own web folder due to permission error.
/*!40000 ALTER TABLE `qhvbmailer_attachments` DISABLE KEYS */;

I'm trying to restore a 600MB database which was uploaded to the repository in plesk. This database backup did NOT originate from this server, but rather I'm attempting to overwrite a blank database that was created with the same name via plesk.
The site is one of our web-spaces (not a customer subscription) so I am logged in as the plesk administrator.
System Info: Plesk 11.5 Windows 2008 R2 (64Bit) 3GB RAM MySQL 5.1
Full Error: dbbackup failed: Unable to restore database 'databasename' Exception of type 'System.OutOfMemoryException' was thrown.
I have tried altering the php.ini the PHP settings of the site (even though I'm logged in as the adminsitrator) as well as the php.ini of: C:ParallelsPleskadminphp.ini
memory_limit=2048M
It fails with the error after about 1GB of RAM usage on the server.
I have a smart error of possible hard drive failure on a hard drive of a cPanel server. Before I ask for replacement of new drive,
I'm going to get a new hard drive as New Primary and make the Old Primary as Secondary Drive (To Restore)
I have the complete manual to restore. However the last time I tried to do that same thing, the system OS crash because it cannot tell which one is primary, and which is secondary (Both is SATA)
My partition is /boot 100mb swap 2gb /tmp 500mb / rest of disk no LVM, installed on MBR
I remember the last time I read something about e2label to rename my hdd label which cause the OS crash when new+old primary was booted together.
i had to do a file system back up because of the size of my database.
i shutdown postmaster and tar'd the files.
i recently reloaded my OS and now i'm attempting to restore the backups. i first shut down postmaster, restored the backups to the data folder and restarted postmaster.
i then su'd from root to postgres user:
Code: [postgres@austin1 pgsql]$ psql service_2_3 psql: FATAL: database "service_2_3" does not exist DETAIL: The database subdirectory "base/16385" is missing.
the backups had a database named service_2_3 but upon restoring the backups, it doesn't seem to be available.
my data directory is /var/pgsql/data.
Code: [postgres@austin1 pgsql]$ ls -lahR /var/pgsql/ | grep 16385 but that yielded nothing.
have i done something wrong while backing up? i don't think i have since i followed the postgres manual when backing up. but the administrators have not been very thorough with how they've set the system up for me.
how i can resolve this issue if you have the time.
Given the choice which is more beneficial. Some of the things I've read say Database servers use up more RAM and others say they use up more CPU power. I'm just not sure.
Also, what HDD should be used for the database server? I have a choice for SATA or SAS.
Some benchmarks are showing SATA as faster I believe, but that SAS is more reliable? Can anyone comment intelligently regarding that as well?
Is it enough to restore the full server backup via the web interface of Plesk to get everything running fine after a reinstall, or is there something else I should do ? I have all kind of backups (server, domains, customers). My server is running Plesk 12 on Ubuntu 12, and I think I will have Ubuntu 14 on the new installation. My backups are on a server on the same local network than my server.
i need to backup database,that not that much huge a small database,now iam useing cpanel server so iam takeing via phpmyadmin manually,now i need to set cron to take backup at every 12hours and save it on specified path,
1) From time to time my vbulleting message board loads slow, and at that time the server isn't even at a high load this happen at loads 0.9 nothing much really but always below 4.
2) Not only does it load slow but it often return the server cannot be found error, this minute it works fine and the next minute it doesn't, all i can see from the error log for my domain is
3) php warning: Zend Optimizer for PHP 4.3.x cannot be found (expected at '/usr/local/Zend/lib/Optimizer-2.1.0/php-4.3.x/Zendoptimizer.so') - try reinstalling the zend optimizer in Unknown on line 0, referer [url]
4) Does vbulletin relies on zend at all to be fully functional?
5) will zend actualy help at all?
Yes there are other sites on the box and they seem to work fine. rhel4, ensim X 10.1 with all hot fix to date. php4 mysql4
