Nov 6, 2009We operate a small point of presence in Atlanta, GA out of the 56 Marietta building. Its a network POP for us, with a few small customers there.
We're interested in finding a company or individual who we can contact to handle remote hands services such as hard drive installs, racking servers, attaching KVMs, nothing major.
Right now we work with TelX. Needless to say, they are extremely overpriced, and under qualified to do the job.

Jun 14, 2007I got a good response last time with suggestions on where to go for co-location, and I've made a choice where I'll be co-locating within the next month or two. So now is the time to look into buying a server. Does anyone know of any good places to custom build 1U Servers online to get a quote and buy one?
I've looked at a few different places and tried searching on here, maybe the words I used in the search weren't right as all I found was dedicated server prices or resellers.
Equinix Ashburn Smart Hands
Jan 8, 2008Does anyone have a good contact or contractor that they can recommend in the vicinity of Equinix Ashburn? Preferably someone who's done work in the facility before. We're in DC4 - which is building E I believe.
While Equinix has great staff, sometimes I just need simple things like servers unpacked and racked - things that I'd prefer not to pay $200/hr. for.

Oct 5, 2009I've been looking to colo a couple servers (total of 3U and 10mbit commit) in the San Jose/San Francisco area and calling around I'm getting quotes of around $1500. These quotes seem ridiculous to me--in pretty much every other market I am used to paying a little over a tenth of that--but sales guys just stand firm and say they are impacted.
Where can I find shared colo for reasonable prices in the San Jose/San Francisco area?
I don't think my requirements are really that out there--I need a mix of level3 and something else other than cogent.

I mean some places that I've contacted its $5 per month while other places its $150 to $250 per month. Or $10 per hour.

Mar 30, 2009I've just noticed that many people may have a free remote cron facility without realising it.
If you have any domains registered with Godaddy, you get free web space that includes a cron facility. It only runs every half hour, but you could set six jobs at 5 min intervals to get an effective 5-minute poll, which is good enough for many purposes. You could use it to check uptime on another site, for example. Has anyone tried this?

But this cant create remote backup for me. BMU use "ncftp" for this. and i see following error about this problem:
