Testing out Clientexec, and every time a welcome email is supposed to be sent, it's not.
So i set up a SPF record for the domain, and it started sending that email. However, when checking the hotmail it's tagged as "phishing scam".
I run a dating site, but for some reason hotmail is rejecting certain emails.
When a user receives a message on my site, they get a notification by email to come check their message on the site. This part works, even with hotmail.
However, when a NEW user registers on the site with hotmail, they aren't
getting the confirmation email they would normally get, and as a result they can't join the site. Other email providers get this confirmation email, but not hotmail.
I have been trying to solve a big problem for the last 2 weeks with one of our servers.
The client using our system (web based w/ apache and php) is a contact center firm. They have about 120 operators, all connect to our websever with the same IP.
We have been suffering DoS attacks from some of these operators. This are simple, browser attacks , namely 5 or 10 operators will just hold F5 key and bombard the server with requests when they shouldnt.
We did manage to produce a php protection which will recognize the multiple requests and blacklist the user, but its "too late" because the request have already been sent and processed by the webserver.
We use the user ID in the system to control who should be blacklisted, so this is all dependent on our own authentication.
Ideally, we need something EXACTLY like mod_evasive, but for rejecting single requests instead of blocking the IP. Exemplifying : if a user calls the same url, 5 times, in a 3 second spawn, we will reject every next request for 30 seconds, but only the requests by that user.
If the webserver can make any use of it, the user id is stored in a cookie.
All genuine emails are making it through fine - barring one or two domains, which fail with postfix/cleanup[5184]: warning: milter inet:127.0.0.1:12768: can't read SMFIC_BODYEOB reply packet header: Connection timed out
postfix/cleanup[5184]: 5082A22A8E: milter-reject: END-OF-MESSAGE from XX-XX-202-76.dsl.in-addr.zen.co.uk[XX.XX.202.76]: 4.7.1 Service unavailable - try again later; from=<newsalert@financialexpress.net> to=<nameremoved@domain.co.uk> proto=ESMTP helo=<mailrelayname.co.uk>
Nowadays is it necessary to have an spf or sender id? I heard there is a conflict between the two?
View 14 Replies View RelatedWe had a non-client (not on our server) that was getting 550 email rejections when he attempted to email us due to having Sender Verify enabled.
In the past I figured Sender Verify was necessary for fighting spam, amongst other things, but have realized that we may be having more rejections than we know because we never hear about them.
Is there a general best practice in terms of enabling Sender Verify or leaving it off? I've never heard about complaints about rejects from legitimate emails senders, so it doesn't seem to be an issue, but then again, you really never know...
I´m seeing that a lot of servers are rejecting my emails showing this error:
451 - could not verify sender (callout)
Reverse DNS is working fine, and I couldnt see any kind of error on dnsstuff.com.
I´m using EXIM/CPANEL. I tried to send from one cpanel server to another cpanel server and I´m still getting error.
to find the user that sending bulk email sender from the server and how to stop them? any shh command or anything?

Both accounts are valid.
in the last few months Ive got a blacklist warning from spamcop over my server sending bounces and now I find out one of my ips is listed at [url]for doing sender verify and bounces.
I think both of which are ridiculous to blacklist for and I really think most of the anti-spam blacklist people are nothing more then money making rackets. But I guess it seems reasonable to disable these things as it would save some resources.
Anyway what I need to do I guess is only do bounces for local users and disable sender verify. What is the best way to do this with exim?
Every server I have to change is cpanel. Ive googled on this the last 2 days and cant find much info, Mailservers isnt my strong point for sure. Any advice Id appreciate.
UPDATE I found how to disable callouts [url]
Just trying to figure out how to disable bounces now
I'm wondering if anyone else has experience with this, or if it's something easy that I'm overlooking.
I am on a VPS service (CentOS Linux) and I want my php mail function emails to send from a specified address. I've already manipulated the headers, so the emails do appear to come from the specified addres, but on mobile devices it comes up as nobody@server1.mydomain.com format. I would like this to read something like no-reply@mydomain.com
know which configuration files can change this default address?
Can we disable sender verificaiton for a specific domain in exim? If so, can you tell me the steps?
View 2 Replies View RelatedSo right now I'm getting lots of emails going out to a bunch of random email address with the message:
"Undelivered Mail Returned to Sender"
I have all accounts set to "Reject" and not send a reply to messages to undeliverables. The other thing is that these emails are being sent from "MAILER-DAEMON@rack.stnhost.com (Mail Delivery System)" Which is my server. So how do I stop this and why is it doing it.
I can't send emails and when I try I receive this mails with this error. This is my configuration of postfix:
Code:
readme_directory = /usr/share/doc/postfix-2.8.17/README_FILES
virtual_mailbox_domains = $virtual_mailbox_maps, hash:/var/spool/postfix/plesk/virtual_domains
virtual_alias_maps = $virtual_maps, hash:/var/spool/postfix/plesk/virtual
virtual_mailbox_maps = , hash:/var/spool/postfix/plesk/vmailbox
transport_maps = , hash:/var/spool/postfix/plesk/transport
[Code] ....
I try to restore permissions but it does not work.
my email address is being spoof/forge. i have added spf record into the DNS for couple days now but i'm still getting rejected/bounced email. is this correct or is spammer is still able to forge my email and sending out spam?
edit: where can i check if my domain/server is on spam block list? since dnsstuff's tool cost money.
