I have a HUGE blog with over 15,000 posts that constantly runs the mysql database like NONE other.
I am just wondering, is there a way to reduce load? I am top 100,000 in Alexa and I get over 2,000 uniques / day. What can I do about this?

It's serving 20-25 requests per second, which are mostly these tiny requests to tracker.php which issues a database query and returns an image. The relevant httpd.conf settings:

This is a dual Opteron 2212 server (4 cores total) with 4GB RAM.
I'm going to use my apache server to host files(it works with a php script so we can't use FTP for now...) so I was wondering if I could limit this virtual host's bandwidth per second so the websites on the other virtual hosts still load properly. Any module for apache on windows which can do this?

I have replaced the real paths with "PATH" for security reasons. How to reduce the time to first byte in general. I tried setting up memcache to accomplish this but I didn't notice any changes...

What are the best ways to reduce server power consumption?
I have a Dell Poweredge 860 (2.4ghz QC, 5GB RAM, 2 HDs) and it uses 0.46AMPs when running normally. The problem is at boot up it spikes for a few seconds here and there to about 0.6 and this is a real problem as I only have a 0.5AMP allowance.
Should I underclock it? Remove the CD Drive?
I've just switched my Apache and PHP config over to linux(ubuntu 14.10).
Apache 2.4.12 is using the mpm-event worker and PHP 5.6 is running in FastCGI/fpm mode.
I'm running MariaDB 10.0.17
I'd like to reduce the time to first byte even more, its currently 80 ms for static files and 110ms for PHP generated pages.
1. 80 ms seems like a lot, since the ping to the server is <15ms
How can I reduce this? Are there some tweaks for the Linux networking stack or Apache that I can apply?
I'm also using SSL, I remember it could be tweaked to improve its performance but I don't remember how..

I've been having trouble with my VPS for a while now. In the QoS alerts page in Virtuozzo it seems to be a problem with numtcpsock and tcprcvbuf, mainly numtcpsock.

What do i need to do, to get the website running again? It's only one site on the vps a proxy. So i thought a vps would be able to handle one proxy.

Im not looking for application based load testing, I need real web server load testing... need to see how much traffic this one site can take before it cries.
I'm having the oddest issue. For some reason, some of the websites on my server load fine, and some take a really long time to load (2 minutes).
Now, the server load is fine, and the size of the sites aren't the issue either. I've restarted Apache and a couple more services, and still the same sites seem to load very slow.
What could be causing this since it's only effecting certain websites?
I would like to know how to check load via ssh and check files causing load?
I want the ssh codes for 2 different set of control panels, one with cpanel+whm and other with kloxo+hypervm
and I would also know how to check the files causing the load, such as some files could have been interrupted while processing, so they could be causing load some times, so I want to stop such processes if any are running on the vps on my friends accounts

a customers wordpress blog is taking all the cpu on the server, i can't figure out what the issue here is... i've tried many my.cnf's and i can verify that it uses the my.cnf file.. so that hasn't helped.. i can only mv index.php test.php for now until i could figure out why all these hits cause lag. any recommendations?
For some reason, one of my clients wordpress blog is using 100% cpu on a php process per page load. To clarify, the first time you load the page it is very slow, and uses 100% cpu for the PHP process and then if you reload the page (while it is going slow) it loads very fast. After that is done the normal PHP usage per page load is roughly 1-4% if that.
I'm guessing something in the coding is looping, but I am unsure. What I do know is 100% cpu usage for one page view initially is insane.
Does anyone have any ideas on how to fix/resolve this issue?

My server crash recently with this stats.I have try all way how to optimize wordpress with install eAccelator, super wp cache and wasting my money for "expert wordpress" but all result is zero, server still get high load.
This is my first time and I don't know if this will work to separate the database server from the main server, but I want to try it.
I am using version 2.3.1 on one site which I need to import over to wordpress.com However, a long time go the link to the back up options page disappeared and even upgrading does not help to retrieve it.
My problem being that over at the main site you need a WordPress WXR file to import with from a self hosted site. As mentioned that is not an option and I must have it imported somehow. I cannot also access the plugins page.
If i like to put 30 wordpress blogs on a vps no high traffic blogs will be between 50-250 uniques per day per blog and with space to grow if some blogs start attract good traffic

I had no problem installing Wordpress Mu with iPower. Unfortunately iPower really sucks for performance (I have paid one full year though so I have to keep them ).
So I have moved to Hostgator but I'm struggling: there are many things that need to be done to be able to install it and I can't even do it myself only the admin can.
At the moment I'm still waiting.
So I'm looking for another webhosting service again - though I will stay with hostgator because of their outstanding support service - just for being able to install Wordpress Mu.

I setup memcached using these instructions (ryan.wordpress.com/2005/12/23/memcached-backend/), but am unsure about how to proceed from here to set exptime.

way to disable my Wordpress's RSS feed, because I have figured out another website just copies my content via my RSS feed.

This works perfectly to disable /feed, but unfortunately /feed/rss will still perfectly work?
I can't see why all those developers just post this, without having actually tested if it really disabled the RSS feed. But can somebody recommend me a good way to disable Wordpress's RSS feed?
