Plesk 12.x / Windows :: Config To Leave Coldfusion 11 Alone
Mar 3, 2015
I recently updated servers and noticed that Coldfusion 11 is not longer supported by plesk, dissapointing, but I can understand that its not used enough for plesk's attention. OK.
If plesk is going to no longer support it, how can I get it to leave Coldfusion alone and to stop applying permissions to the X:Coldfusion11 folder? If I have to connect Coldfusion to each IIS site, thats no big deal, but just want to make sure that I am safe from plesk breaking things.
I've just purchased a VPS with Ubuntu 14.04 and Plesk 12 Web Admin Edition. I will use the vps to host just one domain/website. The first time I access Plesk, it asks for some info and first of all it asks form my domain. The default value is localhost.localdomain. Should I leave the default value or should I enter my domain (let's say example.com)?
We currently have a dedicated development server with our company's host (not hostgator) in which we are charged a decent amount to have on a yearly basis. I was looking to cut down costs and wanted to see if it would be feasible to have a windows box we have in the office setup as our development server. We would install windows 2003 on it along with anything else we need. The current development server is hosted under a IIS 6 / Windows 2003 / CF 7 Environment. If it is doable, what kind of problems would we run into vs having it on a real server? It would only have at the most 3-4 connections possibly once or twice a week so speed is not a huge deal.
Also, how tedious is installing, setting up and migrating everything over for the MSSQL database going to be?
I have a dedicated server right now running PLESK for Windows and MS SQL 2000 w/CF MX 6.1
We're in the process of migrating to a NEW server that will be Windows 2003 R2 64bit.
Do we need to buy CF 8.0? Or can we use CF MX 6.1 still with the new 64bit OS? We also planned to load up MS SQL 2005, any issues with CF MX 6.1 and SQL 2005?
Thank you for any feedback, trying to avoid the ~$650 upgrade to 8.0 as we are fine with the current functionality of 6.1. If we are forced to u/g for interoperability I guess we won't have a choice...
Website script requires to put permission from 777 to 644 after all job will be done. but as i need permanently changes in files, i wand just leave it 777.

I have a little problem configuring the mail server in Plesk 12. I bought a VPS with Plesk 12 is hosted in OVH.es just for learning. I've got an external domain in OVH.es from 1and1.co.uk. The domain is properly configured and all is working well but the mail server. In OVH.es manager I can't create emails for an external domains (it is not allowed), only redirections. This is how it is in the manager: .domain.com MX 1 Redirecciones redirect.ovh.net.Support OVH.es told me that I can configure within plesk 12. I suposse it is in zone DNS but I don't know how to do it.
I'm on plesk 12.0.18 and i would like to backup my server config. I have an error Logging::error('Available disk space () is less than required by storage bund...', 'fatal') called at /opt/psa/PMM/agents/shared/Storage/Storage.pm line 523
[URL] ....
the function un cat /usr/local/psa/PMM/agents/shared/HelpFuncs.pm is like that
Code:
sub getMountSpace { my $mount = shift; my $df = qx( df -P -k $mount) or die $!; while ( $df =~ /^(S+)s+(d+)s+(d+)s+(d+)s+(d+\%)s+(S+)$/gm ) {
[Code]...
We've unchecked the disk space verification in backup settings with no more results ...
is it a way to launch the function reserveSpace and/or getMountSpace helper in shell ? to see the returned value ?
or can i launch /usr/local/psa/bin/pleskbackup server -c comand line to backup only the config ?
Is there any command to generate it? The httpd.include is there but httpd.conf is not picking it up. Suppose there is a "middle" man to connect the vhosts httpd.include and httpd.conf
I followed the following KB to allow country to be identified via GeoIP in AWStats: [URL] .... It works well on one of my domain, but I had to disable first the stats through PLESK Admin, then to reactivate it, so it would regenerate the conf file in /usr/local/psa/etc/awstats/* for a particulair domain. I then followed this KB to re-calculate all stats with country identification: [URL] .... It works as well.
But now: How can I regenerate all the conf file in /usr/local/psa/etc/awstats/* ? Is there any magic command?
I committed a fault, I reinstalled apache2 in my dedicated server, all my apache config files are missed so now plesk not work, i have 3 domains in production w and all are broken ...
error: Not Found The requested URL / was not found on this server.
I tried to reconfigure but: psa/admin/sbin/httpdmng:: No such file or directory
There is a solution to restore my apache2 old installation w files config?

Anyone here have any experience with coldfusion? Im substituting in for our IT guy who is on holidays and Im having some problems with our coldfusion server.. the dam thing is "hanging".
Its on a win2k3 box, this box also runs our fileserver/domain controller and a few other things..
The box itself dosnt have any problems, Domain controller/fileserver never hangs... just the coldfusion pages.. All im doing is stoping and starting the service to get it going agian... but i need to find a real solution...
On our instance (Plesk 12 / Debian) I am logged out within 1 or 2 minutes quite often while working on config of the primary website (admin access). The session idle time is set to the 30 min default, and the problem isn't to do with changing IP addresses - the multiple sessions visible all have the same IP address.
This happens so constantly it is difficult do any real work. Where is the logic of session creation and termination? What do we need to look at to deal with this problem? We have root access.
a host that t supports both PHP and Coldfusion for legacy app that we need to support. I'm just wondering if anyone has had a good experience with a host that supports both of these.
Are there any recommendations for reasonably price+reasonable Coldfusion VPS providers?
I checked out the following: - HostMySite (tops my list at the moment) - MediaTemple (not yet offering CFM hosting) - PowerVPS (not offering CFM hosting)
A customer of ours is looking to use ColdFusion and MS SQL 2000.
Our VPS provider does not provide for ColdFusion or MS SQL so we referred them to another host. This host is unable to properly configure for their needs, and we are standing by the client to assist until everything is working properly.
Can anyone recommend a good host who provides cold fusion / ms sql plans using VPS?
Is this too much to ask and should they be looking at a dedicated server?
Well when it comes to anything that isn't windows hosting, I'm pretty knowledgeable about but when it comes to windows hosting I'm clueless about it as I pretty much never have any need for it. One of my business partner is looking to place there site on a more affordable hosting since there current rate is pretty high.
They have a simple site, which they are really not looking to get much traffic or use anymore then 2gigs of space. Probably needs at least one MS SQL Database and that's it. No more then 5gigs of bandwidth. All they want is something for show thats it, other then that they don't utilize the site for anything.
Can anyone recommend a good host for this with 24/7 live support?
my dad hired someone to build a web site for one of his clients and the guy used codfusion for the forms. I should have just built the site myself, but time is money and I have little time. So, is it possible to install coldfusion on a linux server RHEL3 with cpanel? I've got 3 other dedicated servers as well without cpanel that are running centos.
We had a Coldfusion site running MySQL without issues. We are in the process of doing some upgrades and as part of that we recently switched over to MSSQL 5. Ever since that happened, we will have random page hangs. This usually happens on pages with more complex queries, but it is very random. There is no timeout error on the server, no page cannot be displayed errors, no errors of any kind, the page will just hang. We have been monitoring our server resource monitor and we can see when the page 'gives up', we will go from 100% CPU down to almost 0, and then the page simply never recovers. Does anyone have any idea what might be going on? When there is no error message of sorts it makes it very problematic to troubleshoot.
Some of our customers needs Coldfusion MX 7 on a RedHat Enterprise 4 Linux Server that comes with cPanel. At [url]I can see there is support for RHES 4, but will it cause any conflict to install this app in the same server that cPanel is installed?
