Plesk 12.x / Linux :: XenForo Nginx Friendly URLs
Jan 28, 2015I'm trying to use nginx php-fpm on my forum, and to set friendly url's, I am told to add this to nginx config:

I try adding this using the Additional Nginx Directives, and get this error:

Invalid nginx configuration: nginx: [emerg] duplicate location "/" in /var/www/vhosts/system/domain.com/conf/vhost_nginx.conf:1 nginx: configuration file /etc/nginx/nginx.conf test failed
I think if my domain was in a folder, this wouldn't be a problem. I really don't want to change that, though.

Dec 9, 2014I have a subscription and I'm able to switch the subscription to a given service-plan, but I'm unable to sync the subscription with the plan, using the CLI. These are my commands:
/usr/local/psa/bin/subscription --switch-subscription <domain.com> -service-plan Hosting
result => The subscription <domain.com> is now associated with the service plan Hosting..When watching the webinterface in Plesk, I see the domain is "connected" to the service plan, so far so good. However, I notice that the subscription is not synced.
Back to the CLI, I've tried some combinations, but I can't get the subscription synced. The webbased interface keeps telling me that the subscription is unsynced. Here is what I've tried:
/usr/local/psa/bin/subscription --sync-subscription <domain.com>
And I also unlocked it (just in case it was locked) like so: /usr/local/psa/bin/subscription --unlock-subscription <domain.com>
The funny part is that the CLI tells me: "Subscription <domain.com> was synchronized with the associated service plans." but unfortenately it's not if I look through the GUI. Only if I click the sync-option webbased the subscription get synced. we have to transfer over 1000 domains and need to sync these domains with a given service-plan.
Plesk 12.x / Linux :: Upgrade From 11.5 To 12.0.18 Completed OK But No Interface Page - File Not Found
Jul 11, 2014Upgrade from 11.5 reported it had completed but when I log in, I get the grey bar on the left with various options - Hosting Services, Tools & Settings etc. (only Profile & Preferences works) and a main white screen with the words 'File Not Found' in large font black lettering.

trying to restart psa gives the following

Sep 11, 2014I just installed Plesk 12 Web Admin Edition, installed and activated all licence keys and everything works fine.The only thing, I can't find the "Service Provider View" in the Interface Settings, there is only a "Power-User" view provided, even I've selected the Service Provider View during Plesk Setup, I was moved to the Power User view and now I can't switch the interface.I am really missing the server health monitoring from this Service Provider View like got it on all other servers I have.

Feb 11, 2014I received an error message "Error: Failed to remove mobile site: Can't delete a site that's not active " when try to remove a mobile website in Plesk control panel and if i try to edit site content i received another error message "Can't access a site that's not active" from [URL] ....
These notification messages are originating from UNITY Mobile platform. The reason is actually hinted in the messages themselves - both the site and the editor account have been already disabled and there are no handlers anymore to modify their status further, so the messages are correct from UNITY Mobile platform's standpoint.
It appears that Plesk control panel has somehow retained in its configuration information about the site availability and is giving the plesk control panel the option to configure the mobile site despite the fact that UNITY Mobile platform is returning "deleted" status back to Plesk. Plesk should be given an option to create a new site instead now.
I would like to know how to manage Plesk in this situation.

Aug 6, 2012Lately whenever i try to connect to my Plesk Panel, I get Firefox's "Unable to connect" error and with Internet Explorer I get "Cannot display web page". I disabled all addons, still couldn't connect. Checked my Firewall, still nothing. I pinged the IP and got 51ms. My site is still up. And I just dont know what's wrong.

We are looking for a Windows server 2003 streaming server with at least 100Mbps dedicated unmetered connection (will upgrade to 500 or even 1Gbps dedicated if the quality is reasonable).
How To Disable Friendly Error Message
Feb 27, 2008I kept getting the "friendly error" below even though i'd disabled it on the client browser (this prove that my client browser is not the problem). i purposely coded a simple script wrongly to get the detail error, but to no avail. I believe it has to do with the server setting.
Can you advise if there's any setting/configuration in the server that might cause this? Without the detail error, it will be impossible for me to debug what is wrong with my asp script.
Some of the stuffs that i'd checked on server.
1) The ISS has been set to send detail errors.
2) It is recognizing the .asp extension (approve) - else, the asp page wouldnt even work.
Been debugging this for few nights already, any help are very much appreciated.

Mailing List Friendly Hosts
Aug 27, 2008I'm downsizing my hosting business and I need to find a new host for a good client of mine. They are a small independent record label and use around 2gb of storage and 100gb of transfer. More importantly, though, they make heavy use of their mailman mailing lists.
Can anyone recommend a host who doesn't limit outbound emails per hour or who has another solution for large mailing lists?

But I can start off with the basic req. that might narrow it a tad atleast.

This is the first basic req. I have.
I myself are not the most skilled coder in the world, nor is the others around me and we like Cpanel since it "saves" us from confusion very often.

2 : Script php / mySQL friendly;
We use CMS scripts (MXP, Joomla, e107, etc) for our communities and forum scripts (phpbb, vBulletin, etc) at all times. So a good loading time is a must, nothing is as devestating for a communitie than a slooow forum.

3 : And the regular ;
BIG and cheap. We just doing noncommercial / fun / silly projects / communities so it needs to be cheap and with a good size. Have some photographers + communities with albums and that eats up a good chunk of webspace after awhile.

We greatly appriciate any tips on hosters that covers this. Support don't have to superfast, we pretty relaxed when it comes to that, but the other reqs. is needed.

So from my experience hosting companies like (mt) mediatemple (20 dollars/moth) or mosso (100 dollars/moth) are indicated to webdesigner“s that whant to host some low/medium resources websites to their clients.
So any suggestion on other companies similar adequate for webdesigners? I dont mind paying for premium service

SSL On Client(WIN Mobile Device)
Feb 10, 2009I have SSL enabled site on IIS.I want to access it from my PocketPC(Win mobile).But when I try access it, I have been prompted to install a certificate.
Unlike when I try to any HTTPS site (Banking sites) I have never been prompted to install any certificate.
Why am I being prompted with security message with "Yes,No,View certificate" options on it every time I try to access my own server(desktop) via my WIN mobile using active sync.
Unlike When I try to access banking site(https) I was never ever prompted a mesage like above.
How to have same functionality for my application also?

That's the short question. The longer question is: how do I set up my .htaccess file to call a different css file based on mobile browsers?
All I want to do create a 2nd version of a css file so that my site's content, when viewed on a mobile browser, calls /mobi/style.css instead of /style.css.
I have the rewritecond statement for all the mobile browsers, and in fact I presently direct all mobile browser traffic to a designated static webpage, which you can see at tastyplacement . com which directs to tastyplacement . com/mobi.
But if I could simply call a different css file, I could have the pages load as they normally would but with a different css file and thus an entirely different look for the website (narrower columns, no header navigation, ie., a stripped down version of the site with the main text intact).
Can it be done?

Nokia Browser (PDA/Phone Browser)
UP.Browser (PDA/Phone Browser)
Motorola Browser (PDA/Phone Browser)
My question is, are the visitors a day accurate - which I take to be uniques. It seems these must be pretty far off.
Presently they show an extremely high multiple of that for pages/s (approx 30 -50 times the visitors). I've never heard of visitors clicking this many pages.
I've not come across these kind of number with other non-mobile sites and it makes wonder if its right.
A) is tracking handled in the same way on mobile devices as on desktops (cookies or sessions?) And is this reliable for mobile/handheld/cell-phone devices?
B) There really isn't much of a chance of these page views being a result of bookmarks - the page views don't seem to add up to this.
The 'Browser Top 10' hits coming from 'unknown' are > 50% of the total amount.
Are there any quirks with awstats or other tracking software when it comes to mobile devices, even though the activity is taking place on the server? I take it Urchin may be more accurate?
SSL - Mobile Device Access Lock Down
Jan 29, 2007We have a customer requirement to enable Direct Push email on our Outlook Web Access servers to a number of mobile devices the customer will be supplied from Vodafone - running Windows Mobile 5
Therefore we need to create a public HTTPS address to allow access to the OWA/OMA part.
We do NOT (at this stage) want to allow general access to OWA over HTTPS (we have an eGap solution with RSA for this) so we need to be able to lock down access to the OWA server only to specific devices. One way would be to use Firewall Rules at the Outer DMZ and lock down by the IP ranges of the phone but thats prohibitive to other devices and will fail when the phones change IP (i.e. international roaming)
Therefore Im wondering if we can use self signed SSL certs where there is no trusted CA provider (if there was all browsers would simply be prompted to trust the source and then get access). If we use our own self signed certs and have them installed on the client devices would this work? What would be the downsides (i.e. less cryptogrpahy without the CA part?)
