I am struggling to install Wordpress. When I try I get the Error message:
Error: Installation of WordPress at http://xxx failed. Try to establish connection failed
This appears to be something simple but I don't know what I am doing wrong!
Windows setup: Plesk Panel 11.5 - Server 2012r2 - IIS 8.5 - PHP 5.3/5.4/5.5 - mySQL/MSSQL. Server runs behind firewall (NAT). Setup with local DNS pointing all A records towards public IP.
Situation:
Installed Wordpress through Plesk applications. (mysql). URL....Installs themes in WP console. Everything ok. Installs theme from file, site gets an 500 error. Sometimes installation of theme goes fine, but once activated or previewed it shows 500 error.
Error:
Internal Server Error
The server encountered an internal error or misconfiguration and was unable to complete your request.Please contact the server administrator to inform of the time the error occurred and of anything you might have done that may have caused the error.
I was trying to install Plesk on my Windows Server 2012 Standard, but it failed. It says:
" Failed to install 'C:ParallelsInstallerparallelsPANEL-WIN_12.0.18dist-msi-Microsoft-2003-i386plesk-site.msi':"
Error: The installation of the package 'plesk-site' failed with code 1603. (install: installing Parallels Panel WebSite...)
Please contact Support.
In the Wordpress Toolkit several WP installs appear with exclamation mark and title: "A Wordpress installation was previously detected at this path, but it is not operating properly".

In Plesk, the installation path cannot be changed (at least, it is not under "Change Settings").
Changing the Wordpress installation itself is not that difficult (renaming the folder in httpdocs and changing the siteurl and home parameter in the database), however, in Plesk still the old installation path is shown, and the Plesk interface to Wordpress obviously does not work any more.
How can I change the Wordpress installation path in Plesk?

I'm scanning for installations through Plesk Admin, and it shows two installations with empty name and the toolkit is not functional at all. Check the attached screenshot.
View 2 Replies View RelatedI found out a easy way to update the Database name of a WP installation through phpmyadmin panel, However I can't seem to update or refresh the Parallels WP Settings with correct information. Is this a bug?
This is how to reproduce:
From phpMyAdmin select the database you want to select, in the tabs there's one called Operations, Go to the rename section.
Update the user privileges to the new Database name and remove the old privileges (save)
Then manually update the wp-config file which contains the 'Database name' (save)
Then goto Parallels Plesk > Websites & Domains> WordPress Installations > Change Settings
Here you should notice the Change Settings for the WordPress Installation still contains the old Database name.
Is there any way of updating this?
My Wordpress Toolkit stops showing the Wordpress Installations.
Instead of that, is showing a yellow sign with the following error:
"Decoding failed: Syntax error"
I found this [URL] ... but it did not work for me.
I decided to reinstall several times my Wordpress site using my Wordpress backup.
The Wordpress installation using the Toolkit works fine, however, when I update Wordpress (core, plugins or theme) within my Wordpress dashboard, the Plesk's Wordpress Toolkit keeps saying there are still updates pending. Also I noticed that if I change the site's name in my Wordpress dashboard, the Plesk Wordpress Toolkit keeps showing the old one. (same happens with languages)
Although my website is working fine, after a while, not matter if I update or not my Wordpress site using the Toolkit, eventually I receive the "Decoding failed: Syntax error" in my Plesk panel.

I set up an virtual ubuntu Server on a Proxmox Root. I used the .iso from plesk.
Now when i tried to start installing magento, there is the message, that there is no mcrypt installed.
I installed it using php5-mcrypt its done and i can see the folders and also te mcrypt.so and so on.
When i tried to install atomic there is the message that redhead is not available at /etc/readhead...
i have windows server 2003 and i also have plesk 7.5.... every time i try to install plesk it says thats i need frontpage 2002 or later and url]...i have both but it still says i dont have it

Plesk has mysql installed with it to run properly and I need to upgrade that version to the latest. Now I am not talking about the mysql server that it provides for me to create databases on. I am talking about the version it uses to run.

However, when I tried to use the WordPress import too (uploading an 11MB XML file) I received an Internal Server Error, which brought the entire site down. For some reason I cant seem to download the app on Parallels to create a website using wordpress.I have added the domain, clicked on applications > install apps > featured applications > wordpress..I then get a screen 'downloading and installing wordpress. But however long i leave it on this page (i left it for over an hour one time) it doesnt move off 0% completed.I have tried another domain but it does the same and also tried using google chrome (instead of windows ie9)

The whole thing was down for a while and then I reinstalled WordPress but I'm trying to get the new install to recognize the prior install's database. I have done a lot of poking around and haven't been able to find the answer. I have also contacted the hosting service's customer support and they did respond with a quick answer but it was also a little too vague (or I might just not be understanding it right... but I think I am; I think it was good information they sent but probably just not enough good information).

I know if that is done that WordPress will no longer be able to be managed or updated using the Panel. Is there any way to change the folder structure so that this application can still be managed by Plesk?

In Wordpress I get a error, too: By the update from 3.5 to 3.5.1 i get the error: The directory is write protect or not available.
In WordPress I instert in the wp-config.php following.

I have Windows 2012 R2 server.
Window server 2012 r2: I installed wordpress on a domain using plesk. Seemed to work correctly. But when I went to the site www.example.com/wp-admin, the native or default wordpress install started up. I could find no way to bypass this, so I just re-entered all the same settings.
The result was that I ended up with 2 sets of database tables, one set named with my chosen prefix wp_blahblah_ and one set prefixed with wp_blahblah_wp_.
Not good, so I deleted the later set. Wordpress seems to be working, despite one error on the tables I can't reproduce.
Running Plesk 12.0.18 on Windows 2012
I create a new domain then use Plesk Applications tab to install Wordpress. It shows the message:

The 'mysql' extension was not found.
However, php is installed and phpinfo shows that the mysql extension is installed. I try different versions of php, cgi/fastcgi but ll fail with the same error. I install Wordpress via FTP and it works fine.
There are knowledge-base articles relating to this error but they are for Linux and the solutions don't work in this case:

Maybe the Wordpress database has to be created before using Plesk to install Wordpress? If so, what should the database name be? How does Plesk know what the name of the database is that it should use? Why doesn't Plesk just create a database to use?
