View 1 Replieswe are in this situation:

Plesk version: 12.0.18 Update #16, last updated at Sept 11, 2014 04:07 AM
PHP: 5.4.32
we created a new mailing list test1@domain.tld and we tried to send a message, as administrator, to the list and to the temporary users subscribed. But Mailman dones't send anything ! And we receive this error:

All other services on this server seems to be ok, normail email sending, receiving, http... all right... but mailman no.
one of my client have an in-house subscriber list with 30000 email build with their offline promotional campaign. They need to send 4 to 5 email in a month and the list might expand to 60000 in a year.
they are using a mailing program to schedule the mailing at 250 email per hour as according to the limit of their ISP and they are looking for a better solution.
i want to suggest them taking a VPS but i'm new to VPS so i'm here to looking for suggestion that i can recommend to my client.
Just got a new WiredTree VPS up and running. Service has been great so far. Make that super!
VPS newbie question: I would like to set a limit on emails for all domains but mine to some number per hour, but I would like mine to be unlimited. I'm not going to be sending a lot, but, when necessary, they will need to go fast. So far, the only way I have figured out how to keep unlimited for me is to not set a throttle at all and allow Mailman only on admin domains. If any user has to have lists, then I can authorize it then and maybe keep tabs on it.(There's probably a lot better way to say that, but I'm tired :-)
I have a client who is interested in settin up a paying mailing list for a website I built for him.
I figured since he doesn't want to spend $3000 for a full CMS, I would just do things manually.
A customer would pay through Paypal. He would then check PayPal for any new subscribers dailys, add them if new, and then send out his newsletter daily to the people who have paid.
In the mailing list software, there would be a box for how many days this person would be allowed to be sent an e-mail and then once his subscription was up, an e-mail would be sent out (the last part is optional).
Does anyone have any insight of a program/script that would work in this manner? Or maybe a decently cheap script that they know of? This site is a non-profit, donation site.
Does anyone know if such a thing exists? A Tool to convert a mailing list to a forum like say phpBB or VB?
View 1 Replies View RelatedIn LXadmin mailing lists feature, how can only admin can send mail? There is a switch called "Only Moderators Can Post" but it doesnt work.
I will send a mail to my members, but if they reply there will be a mess.
As you know, most mailinglists are built as you have to send emails from a control panel.
But I am searching for a script or service where a group of members can email each other from their favourite email program, such as Outlook.
Only those members would be allow to send to the list.
I'm downsizing my hosting business and I need to find a new host for a good client of mine. They are a small independent record label and use around 2gb of storage and 100gb of transfer. More importantly, though, they make heavy use of their mailman mailing lists.
Can anyone recommend a host who doesn't limit outbound emails per hour or who has another solution for large mailing lists?
On one of our VPSes, the Mailing List feature is disabled. The link is showing but is disabled. Upon searching a lot in Google, I found I need to have MailMan installed before I could run Mailing List.
However, we have Mailman already installed on the VPS in question. Any suggestion as to how to get the mailing list link activated?
Need to send emails to around 4500 subscribers.
Currently have PLESK (MailMan) - but if I create Mailing List. Mailing list email goes in "To:" field and anyone can see that email address, and may perhaps also use that.
Thought to use Desktop Software - but ISP (Cable Broadband) has a limit of 100 emails per session.
Experimented a php/mysql quick solution, but it takes very long time and browser times out. Also. not sure how cron can be configured via script.
Is there any hosting company having a better email solution (where in "To:" field individual's email address goes)?
How do you manage your business mailing needs currently?
apparently Envelope-From, Sender and Errors-To headers are set to a wrong address for messages from mailman to the list-owner. This is particularly true for mails like 'message requires approval'.
It seems like the plesk<->mailman magic results in all list-domains being written to the end of /var/lib/mailman/Mailman/mm_cfg.py in the following format: add_virtualhost('list.DOMAIN').This in return results in mail headers Envelope-From, Sender and Errors-To of mailman system mails like described above being set to mailman-bounces@DOMAIN, where DOMAIN is the one from the last add_virtualhost entry.
In my opinion, this obviously is a bug. Maintainance mails from mailinglists have wrong headers set, often with a domain that belongs to a completely different customer than the mailinglist.
I found the following discussion on mailman-users mailinglist from 2008 which discusses the same issue - also a plesk setup: URL....
Has anyone used MailMan in Plesk? Is there documentation on exactly what it does? Is it just an added bonus for creating mailing lists?
View 1 Replies View RelatedDoes anyone know how to export the emails from mailman?
I have a mailing list, which now has more emails in it than we should be sending with mailman, but i cant seem to export them!
To further complicate issues, i dont have ssh access to the server.
we are going to setup SSL on a server which host mailman (and the Webgui).
It's a SLES11 system and we configured a vhost with ssl. How do we have to combine the vhost and the mailman config?
I used to have a server under Plesk. I don't have the server anymore, but I kept all the files from the server (not a plesk dump). Where do I find the subscribers database and how can I extract it?
View 0 Replies View RelatedI have two problems regarding Mailman Mailing Lists.
1) The Mailman Interface is usually located under lists.domain.tld/mailman (I changed the config from /cgi-bin/mailman/ to just /mailman/), but it seems the apache confs for this subdomain are not applied – I only see the servers default page when visiting this URL. domain.tld/mailman works, though. It would be great if lists.domain.tld/mailman would actually work and domain.tld/mailman wouldn't work.
How do I change/repair the configurations properly? I've installed the newest MU and already to reinstall mailman.
2) I get an Internal Server Error when visiting the domain.tld/mailman Interface. Reason is mod_suexec, which I need to disable for domain.tld/mailman, but where and how? All the vhost configurations are created automatically.
I could imagine this is related to my first problem and the mod_suexec thing is properly configured in the lists-subdomain config.
I have plesk 12 with dovecot+postfix and mailman installed but when i try to use mailman web interface I have 404 ...

For Roundcube I've found a manual: [URL] .... (in German), but not for Mailman.
