View 14 RepliesHow do you finā cirtexhosting shared account offers?
What about the overall quality and reputation of this host? Do you know anything that could be useful for the person who is interested in the account purchase?
I would like to know about cirtexhosting company from its clients. I found this company attarctive by the offered deals, and currently I am looking for somebody to tell me if this company is really worth of getting an account from. I mean how's their shared hosting quality? The pre sales support looks to be fast and informative, but how about customer support?
View 2 Replies View RelatedI bought hosting from cirtexhosting 4 days ago after I read his post in the advertising forum. Paid for a year up front thinking that they should be an ok company. But, I was wrong. Over the pass 4 days their milky server is totally unusable. In the cpanel server status page, cpsrvd, mysql (4.1.22-standard-log), clamd, ftpd, antirelayd, httpd (1.3.41 (Unix)) are all in red color, I guess that means they are down? Cronjob also doesnt work. I sent them tickets the pass few days. Tickets regarding billing is answered within an hour which means they are very good at collecting money. But support ticket answered with "this ticket requires the managament, and are being left unanswered for over 24 hours. Their live support is completely useless , been waiting for 15 to 20 min no one answers. So what, should I be asking for refund? I read some reviews about them on this forum, and they are not suppose to be this bad?
View 13 Replies View Relatedso i've used cirtexhosting's economy package for 7 months.
it was running ffmpeg, using bandwiths in terabytes....of course this shared server, it will have problems. got suspended several times.
compared to Asmallorange (1~2 year):
- sftp, SSH, always disconnects and very unstable. asmallorange never did this.
- frequent downtimes. (tickets submitted number in couple hundreds) the longest downtime was 2 days. they gave 1 month credit for this tho.
bottom-line: if your just starting out, dont wanna pay a lot, they were great, other than the problem with SSH and sftp but dont expect too much, because its a shared host after all.
Satisfaction out of
now i hope they give money back now that i moved to new host.
Frustrastion w. CirtexHosting [negative review]
G'day everybody!
I actually stumbled onto this site in the search for a new hosting option...
My current site dare2go.com is hosted with cirtexhosting for nearly 3 years. During this time I had occasional problems with downtime and slow responses from support, but nothing like now. Since the hosting is cheap and my site a small (non-profit) travelogue I never really bothered too much...
Now I am battling for almost a week a problem with them which should actually be a simple one. I want to install a forum, and after some research decided on SMF from simplemachines. So on Monday I downloaded it, unpacked it and uploaded it via FTP. Upon first tests all actions (like admin changes, registration of new user, etc.) in the new program crashed - 403 error forbidden. For that day I gave up.
Next morning I went back, checking all permissions (Chmod, etc.) with no change of the problem; finally I posted a question about my problem on the simplemachines forum - nobody could help me...
The rest of this day I couldn't do much due to power outages.
Wednesday I went back to check everything but no changes - still every action resulted in a 403 error.
So I decided to try another forum software, MyBB, downloaded this, unpacked and installed it, and already upon log-in had exactly the same 403 error.
So I finally decided to contact the support explaining the problem and pointing to my suspicion that it was some kind of php permission error. Even the header of my support request read "permission problems at 'dare2go.com'" (Years ago I used to earn some money from websites, had my own dedicated server with better access to php features. Back then I had to install other scripts - so I know a little - not much - GRIN. But I don't like to bother support for issues which turn out to be my own stupidity, hence my late cry for help...)
A reply to this enquiry arrived after nearly 90 minutes and didn't reach me until the next morning. Support had decided to alter my .htaccess file resulting in my entire website being down (only a directory listing being displayed) - great
So this day I tried first to look into this problem, and then decided to poke a little more through CPanel (where I had looked several times before in an effort to solve my problem - never really used it before) - in Fantastico I discovered an auto-install of exactly the same version of SMF which I had installed on Monday - I decided to run this (into a third directory for a forum), and upon starting this install I soon received exactly the same 403 error.
In the meantime more emails went back and forth between support and me - the time span between them getting longer and longer.
Finally today I received this answer:
Quote:
Sorry for the inconvenience, mod_security found some session attack from your script. Please upgrade your script with latest and then check it, otherwise upgrade your cirtex plan to VPS or Dedicated server. For more information hostv.com
This is not a solution!
Virtual or dedicated hosting are way beyond my means and my needs! After all: the last install from Fantastico is exactly the version they are offering as a free option for my account, and cirtexhosting's front page states in bright orange "We Host Forums".
My last email from around 5 hours ago (cc to sales-at-cirtex.com) remains unanswered. 24/7 support doesn't mean I should have to wait a day for a reply...
An ANGRY Juergen
I am traveling and have only limited internet access - hence this issue is even more pressing. Next week I have to move on because my visa in Paraguay is expiring soon - and all time seems to be wasted...
The first month was bad!
Uptime: 97,1%
Server and Network Speed: 2/10
So I asked to move to another server! They moved all promptly (with my data). My reviews on the new server:
Support: 9/10 always.Got answer also after 5min.
Uptime: 99.99%
Server and Network Speed: Great speed from Italy Now. You can test it.
Now my site is about 400 visitors/day using video script. It's ok for now.
Overall? Ok.
I've heard/read many bad reviews about JustHost. Even couple of my friends had very bad experience with them and i witnessed it. But my question is that Why is it everywhere?
Whenever i search on google "best webhosts", "good webhosts", i always get JustHost between top 5. On the other hand my hosting "Hostgator" many times ranks in 7 to 10 position. I am highly satisfied with my host.
Why is it so? Why JustHost ranks top?
what about justhost.com?
i want to sign up shared at it
i dont know it is good or not
I've narrow it down to either justhost.com and hostgator.com
Both seems to have positive reviews.
I am leaning a little more towards justhost.com because it fits my needs.
Does anyone have experiences with justhost.com?
I searched for them here but couldnt find anything...
I just visited their livechat but there only seems to be a bot running...?
I would just like to give you a little warning about justhost.com. This is my experience, but I think I was just very unlucky.
I signed up last Thursday, everything seemed to be great. When signing up it said that everything will be setup within 24 hours. The money was withdrawn and I got a confirmation email from paypal.
After 30 hours I still haven't heard anything from the justhost. I checked a whois for the domain I had signed up for; it still wasn't registered. I chatted with one of their agents. I have mixed thoughts about the agents. They respond really quickly which is great, but they don't seem to have any privileges to do anything. They will only answer your questions and they will tell you who to email if something is needed to be done (from my experience).
The agent said that I should email their billing section. So I emailed them, but I didn't get any response to that ticket.
After 3 days I talked to an agent again. Same story; email billing. But they said everything will be setup within the next 24 hours. I emailed them again...
After 4 days (still nothing had happened) I talked to an agent again. He said he can't find the information about me. So I patiently emailed them my info again.
After 5 days I talk to an agent once again. I started asking why nothing has happened.
After I started getting a little angry over the chat (because nothing was happening) he shut down the conversation.
I then emailed their billing team to say I want a full refund. The refunding worked better than I would expect (since nothing had worked before). My money was refunded on paypal about 24 hours later. They apologized in the email and said that this is very unusual.
I feel that it's very unprofessional to charge a customers credit card and then lose the information about the customer and not doing anything about it.
I am looking for a host for a website I am working on.
It is for an association of about 200-300 members, and I do assume that not all of them will visit the site.
The site consists of mainly text, and one weekly podcast.
Considering this kind of usage, I have been looking around for hosting.
I first looked at JustHost and FatCow.
JustHost sounded great because of the price at 2.95/month and free domain for life, but if I decide to change host, I wonder what they will do to my domain. They also promise "unlimited features" and that is usually too good to be true. Although they have amazing reviews all around the internet, not only the biased ranking websites but I snooped deeper, I am not quite sure they are what I need.
Same thing for FatCow, but I do have a little bit more confidence in them because they have been in business for 10 years I believe where JustHost has only been there for a year. FatCow was at just under 5$/month. Plus, its 100% wind-powered...
Last option I found was SharkSpace.com. I found it, being a sticky in one of the forums here. I am interested in the Hammerhead Shared Hosting package. I believe they do not oversell, and its not UNLIMITED webspace and bandwidth. They have been in business since 2004 so its still longer than many other hosts. They also have amazing reviews, I have yet seen a negative one. And finding a coupon for 3.98$/month is also a really good deal for something that looks more reliable. But to that I will have to buy my domain elsewhere as it is not included. 10$/year = 4.81$/month.
Longest lasting business: Fat Cow, Also most expensive.
What I believe is the most reliable: SharkSpace
Cheapest Price: Just Host
If you know another host that you know is reliable, fast, and trustworthy, in the same price range. Let me know too.
i am changing my hosts from hostgator to the JustHost or ImHosted.
I am trying to buy shared hosting plan. I DO NOT want a video sharing website. My website will serve around 100-150 videos of each 5 mints duration.
I am confused about speed of these hosts.
My questions are
1. How can i check the speed of these hosts (JustHost) & (ImHosted). (Any sample file download will do)
2. How can i know which of these host has the fastest data transfer rate to my country. (PAKISTAN)
3. ImHosted says it has OC-192, JustHost says it has OC-96. But how to confirm it?
I am inclined towards JustHost as they are way cheaper than ImHosted. But i am also concerned about speed. Will a OC-96 connection(JustHost) will serve a 5mint video well.?
I'm gonna start an online affiliate biz and am looking for a good reliable and cheap hosting service. I came up with these. Now I'm finding it difficult to decide which one to go with.
And if you know of a better and cheaper service,
