I've heard/read many bad reviews about JustHost. Even couple of my friends had very bad experience with them and i witnessed it. But my question is that Why is it everywhere?
Whenever i search on google "best webhosts", "good webhosts", i always get JustHost between top 5. On the other hand my hosting "Hostgator" many times ranks in 7 to 10 position. I am highly satisfied with my host.
Why is it so? Why JustHost ranks top?
what about justhost.com?
i want to sign up shared at it
i dont know it is good or not
Any recommendation or experience with them?
View 14 Replies View RelatedI've narrow it down to either justhost.com and hostgator.com
Both seems to have positive reviews.
I am leaning a little more towards justhost.com because it fits my needs.
I would just like to give you a little warning about justhost.com. This is my experience, but I think I was just very unlucky.
I signed up last Thursday, everything seemed to be great. When signing up it said that everything will be setup within 24 hours. The money was withdrawn and I got a confirmation email from paypal.
After 30 hours I still haven't heard anything from the justhost. I checked a whois for the domain I had signed up for; it still wasn't registered. I chatted with one of their agents. I have mixed thoughts about the agents. They respond really quickly which is great, but they don't seem to have any privileges to do anything. They will only answer your questions and they will tell you who to email if something is needed to be done (from my experience).
The agent said that I should email their billing section. So I emailed them, but I didn't get any response to that ticket.
After 3 days I talked to an agent again. Same story; email billing. But they said everything will be setup within the next 24 hours. I emailed them again...
After 4 days (still nothing had happened) I talked to an agent again. He said he can't find the information about me. So I patiently emailed them my info again.
After 5 days I talk to an agent once again. I started asking why nothing has happened.
After I started getting a little angry over the chat (because nothing was happening) he shut down the conversation.
I then emailed their billing team to say I want a full refund. The refunding worked better than I would expect (since nothing had worked before). My money was refunded on paypal about 24 hours later. They apologized in the email and said that this is very unusual.
I feel that it's very unprofessional to charge a customers credit card and then lose the information about the customer and not doing anything about it.
I am looking for a host for a website I am working on.
It is for an association of about 200-300 members, and I do assume that not all of them will visit the site.
The site consists of mainly text, and one weekly podcast.
Considering this kind of usage, I have been looking around for hosting.
I first looked at JustHost and FatCow.
JustHost sounded great because of the price at 2.95/month and free domain for life, but if I decide to change host, I wonder what they will do to my domain. They also promise "unlimited features" and that is usually too good to be true. Although they have amazing reviews all around the internet, not only the biased ranking websites but I snooped deeper, I am not quite sure they are what I need.
Same thing for FatCow, but I do have a little bit more confidence in them because they have been in business for 10 years I believe where JustHost has only been there for a year. FatCow was at just under 5$/month. Plus, its 100% wind-powered...
Last option I found was SharkSpace.com. I found it, being a sticky in one of the forums here. I am interested in the Hammerhead Shared Hosting package. I believe they do not oversell, and its not UNLIMITED webspace and bandwidth. They have been in business since 2004 so its still longer than many other hosts. They also have amazing reviews, I have yet seen a negative one. And finding a coupon for 3.98$/month is also a really good deal for something that looks more reliable. But to that I will have to buy my domain elsewhere as it is not included. 10$/year = 4.81$/month.
Longest lasting business: Fat Cow, Also most expensive.
What I believe is the most reliable: SharkSpace
Cheapest Price: Just Host
If you know another host that you know is reliable, fast, and trustworthy, in the same price range. Let me know too.
i am changing my hosts from hostgator to the JustHost or ImHosted.
I am trying to buy shared hosting plan. I DO NOT want a video sharing website. My website will serve around 100-150 videos of each 5 mints duration.
I am confused about speed of these hosts.
My questions are
1. How can i check the speed of these hosts (JustHost) & (ImHosted). (Any sample file download will do)
2. How can i know which of these host has the fastest data transfer rate to my country. (PAKISTAN)
3. ImHosted says it has OC-192, JustHost says it has OC-96. But how to confirm it?
I am inclined towards JustHost as they are way cheaper than ImHosted. But i am also concerned about speed. Will a OC-96 connection(JustHost) will serve a 5mint video well.?
I'm gonna start an online affiliate biz and am looking for a good reliable and cheap hosting service. I came up with these. Now I'm finding it difficult to decide which one to go with.
And if you know of a better and cheaper service,

Their offering looks interesting, at least in the paper/web.
They seem to suupport SQL Server 2005 Reporting services
and allow the installation of custom dll components
considering buying a UK VPS with VT6 as there service looks impressive and support is top notch and they seem knowledgeable
Has anyone else got any experiences with VT6
experience with connexions4london as an IP transit provider. We are looking for dual 100Mbit (commit) connectivity in Telehouse East and their pricing and response time on the quote was very good.
Any feedback on their tech support and network will be greatly appreciated. Any other options (good network/price)
They are sure running some great specials right now but sometimes things aren't as good as they seem. Any experiences from people especially on their management services & such from users who have had them (or used to have them) for some period of time (not brand new or short-time users--- unless the short time was due to very bad experiences from the start).
And please-no "secret reps" telling me how great you are, would like some actual user experiences. Have been very happy with the same provider for over 6 years but their pricing is not reflecting the current trends in server technology & I'm growing tired of "negotiating" (old tech at new tech prices) so I've been looking for some options for the first time in years.
High-end users preferred (quads-dual quads etc.) but mainly want to know if they live up to their management & security promises (response times SLA, tech knowledge, etc. for "fully managed".
I would be interested in hearing thoughts on your experiences with Installatron. Is the availability of this something that you put a lot of value in when choosing a hosting provider?

I want to know if anyone has experience with dedicated servers and the ms exchange services provided by Coreix.net?
Is a reliable company?
Does it has a full time staff with "real" engineers and a good support?
And about the network and datacenter?
A few month ago I needed some Windows VPS server and checked out WHT.
Apparently some folks recommended VPSLand and I thought it would be a good choice. Well after a few weeks with them I decided to move to another firm, because their Support is worse then I have ever seen with any hosting company.
It takes days to get an answer and in one occasion i even had to cancel the server since they couldn't get it to work again
Then yesterday one server went offline and after waiting a half day on support I received an email telling me that the server was online since months.
Then the hit today was that they just shut down one of the server cause he would use to much CPU
The thing which puzzles me is that they shut it down without notice and have me, the client, figuring out why i can't login
Long story short. I will move all my server to another company and can only recommend you to stay away from those guys.
I'm a longtime lurker and finally decided to register today. This place has been great for hosting info., etc.
I've been piggybacking on a friend's Mosso hosting account for about six months. That is, I pay a % of the $100 full-account price, as I haven't needed the full allotment of space, bandwidth, etc.
While I like Mosso and especially the simple control panel, etc., it seems like they've had a tough run of stability problems lately. Other than a couple instances of my site taking a few seconds to load, I haven't been impacted myself (that I can tell).
HOWEVER, I've noticed Mosso very recently has changed the format of their Status blog by eliminating the archives and only showing the latest post or two. This tells me Mosso is concerned with the number and length of outages they've had lately, as it's no longer possible to review recent downtime issues as it was for most of the past few years. (I was watching Mosso long before switching to their hosting.)
Further, maybe I'm just paranoid, and it seems like others would be complaining if it's true, but lately I've suspected some email is going AWOL. There have been several instances lately when I've checked my email after a day or two and noticed 10- and 12-hour gaps with no emails (not even spam). I've also had weird stretches where I've sent emails to a dozen people but only received replies from half of them. (These are friends and business associates; people from whom I'd expect a 95% reply rate.)
After a lot of comments, and especially complaints, on this board over the past couple years, it seems like Mosso rarely comes up here anymore, which seems like it should be a good thing. I'm curious if others here have had recent experience with Mosso and, if so, if they've had any problems.
This thread is mostly for me to keep track of how things go with this host and hopefully to benefit any others that might be thinking of hosting with them in the future.
I'm going to try and keep my interactions with this host updated here over time.

Checked my email for order confirmation. I'm happy to see my site has already been provisioned! The email states that it might take longer (up to the previously mentioned 24 hours) for some of the upgraded items to take affect, I'm ok with this.
The email also contains all of the information I need to get things going, IPs, URLs, etc.
I'll update again later with any new information.
Does anyone have any experience with them? I am deciding whether or not I am going to get hosting from them. If anyone can recommend anything else I only need these. About 1GB of space and maybe 10-20gb of bandwidth. It will mostly be for photography but later on in the year I will have to host some songs and approx 50 people will be downloading 10 songs each.
View 14 Replies View RelatedCan anyone let me know their opinions on Voxel/Voxrox?
I am specifically interested in hearing from people who have direct experience with them, not just "I've heard they're really good". Have you experienced many outages and how is support for you?
Please also mention whether you have used / are using their managed or unmanaged option.
I have used the search but it's rarely clear whether people are using the managed or unmanaged service when they give their opinions.
Does anyone have any experience with these guys?
They have some good deals here: [url]
But of course, you get what you pay for...
I'm interested in their dedicated server offer..
Who can tell me the good and bad about this hoster?
i'd also like to know how good their connectivity (bandwith)
i'm thinking to pass to VPSLand. My website has 52'000 views/day and 11'000 visitors/day. I need windows, .net2 and MySQL.
What do you think of them? Their prices are very good and the service looks good too.
In particulare i was interested in the Value plan (29 $/month):

I'm interested in knowing what anyone's experience with databasebydesignllc.com has been like. Reliability, stability, download speeds, etc. Positive or negative, if you can provide some info,

View 7 Replies View RelatedI am currently in the process of looking for a VPS or Dedicated Server provider in Canada. I realize that the cost of doing this will be more than having one in the US but I am willing to pay the extra price.
I first started looking at Rackforce and they seemed reasonable but after reading a few things I found iWeb8.com and for about $7CAD more I could get a dedicated server with them rather than a VPS with Rackforce.
Is anyone here currently (or recently was) a customer with either of these companies and can provide some insight into how their service rates? I've read all the posts I could find reviewing them but most of the ones I found were at least a year old. (Although I may have missed some sections somewhere)
Found their name while Google'ing for a budget Xen VPS.
It's been told at their website that they are part of GrokThis.net. As far as I understand, they are not using Dual Core Dell PowerEdge servers (1,2) and they haven't got fancy features like "upload and use your own image" (3) as GrokThis.net. But they are offering really cost effective 64-bit Xen VPS hosting plans (4).
Does anybody have good or bad experiences with this company? How are their network?
Any performance issues? Has anybody done any benchmarks on their VPSs?
How good (or bad) are their support?
Are they offering console login?
Do they have a SLA?

I've seen all the reviews on AIT and their services, but not much feedback on their actual network performance. I'm sure there will be some blasting on this one...
Has anyone had any colo experience with AIT? I am local to them and just took a complete tour of the facilities, datacenter, etc. It looks like a lot of changes are going on, datacenters are getting expanded and upgraded. They even have added a retail area in their facility where you can buy racks, etc.
I know there have been real bad reviews on their customer service with their actual services, but again I am interested in experience with their actual network as a colo customer. The datacenter certainly looked up to par, but their network may be a different story.
I would be very interested in hearing from any current or maybe even past colo customers with them.
We are looking at this software. Seems easy enough, secure enough.
Experiences with Simple DNS Plus?
I'm considering OLM.net and their dedicated server packages. Does anyone have any recent experiences with them and their performance, support, uptime, etc.? The only reviews I seen in here are a few years old.
