Apr 14, 2008I`d like to run php per user using spawn-fcgi (I want to user have own pid file for php process). Is it possible to work? I thing that the way is to add something in VirtualHost file for users something like
spawn-fcgi -f /usr/local/php4/bin/php -P /tmp/$user.pid -s /tmp/$user.sock
Is it possible to do?
I`m using DirectAdmin.

Apache :: Cannot Configure To Work With PHP
Aug 7, 2014(I am using apache 2.2.25).I have this "HTML5 and CSS all in one for dummies" Book. And it tells me I have to configure the .conf file to make apache work with PHP.
At this point I have only edited the Document root folder. The book tells me to find a Loadmodule with an # with a mention of PHP (I'll put the text of the book at the end) and to add an "addtype" statement. If have found neither and when I add the manually the server doesnt work.how can I make PHP work? Also, I have noticed that the Apache commands in CMD don't work. I am running windows 8.1. URL....
Test Apache Configure
Oct 11, 2013I'm working on a script to automatically install apache. Now, after the apache configure/make/make install I need to test for a successful completion. I checked the configure options but there is no flag for an unsuccessful finish.I would like to know if there is any other way than to test the command output for a successful or unsuccessful ending? I'm saving the output on a file and then grepping for an expected line. For example "creating test/ Makefile" for the configure.

Sep 19, 2014I've got a quite difficult problem which I don't know hoe to solve. We use a self created ISAPI module which is a "business server" running behind an Apache.
From time to time a client app crashes the server (the circumstances are not quite clear) - and because there is only one server process, all other clients crash as well. Here is an exemplary log of a crash:

Exception code: 0xc00000fd means stack overflow as I learnt. Therefore we configured mpm_winnt_module to use a 8M ThreadStackSize but this didn't work.
A solution might be that Apache starts for every client its own server process with the module ABCServer.dll. Because it is quite small and there are not thousands of customers this sounds like the perfect solution. No other clients/customers would be affected by a crash.
Unfortunately mpm_winnt_module supports only 1 process AFAIK. Worker and Prefork MPM are not available in Apache's Windows version what I read.
How can we configure Apache to start a new module process per client?

To be honest, I've never run any benchmarks to see how well the servers performed under stress. But I'd like to start.
Are there are good (free) programs out there that will stress test my web servers? I develop on windows, but deploy on linux, so either platform is ok. I'm most interested in how many concurrent connections can be maintained.

Apr 14, 2008Has anyone done a benchmark of test files for multiple unmeetered hosts during peak hours?
I have a 100mbit server at ThePlanet i could use for benchmarking. I could write a simple benchmark program to record the time+speed of a list of shared bw test files.
I'll have it sample each host for 10sec every hour. With that we can make a speed/time graph for each host.
My server is in TX on a shared line but not unlimited BW.
It would be nice if we can get some benchmarks from other data centers.
Would this reflect actual speeds?
Overselling Web Hosts - Benchmark Review Idea
May 3, 2008I'm interested in creating a small website exposing the biggest overselling companies, and how their overselling practices are false marketing.
Simply put, I want to benchmark each host with exact tests for accuracy. Any idea how I can fairly test each host, e.g. benchmark?
After the tests have been performed, I will explain which are the worst hosts (e.g. the first to give me the boot due to some TOS clause, e.g. cpu usage), etc.
Also, would anyone like to help out with this project? I'll be putting some nice marketing into it.

Its causing big problem at my friend's site, it often leads to 500, 501 and 502 pages, earlier some one mentioned even fcgi could be reason for the error pages as it might show error page if php file takes longer time to load,
so I would like to to turn off fcgi at his site, he uses hypervm-lxadmin, I couldn't find an option when I searched, may be I have missed it, can u guide me through how to solve this issue
and I would like to know if turning off f-cgi will it cause any problem to the site, such as tech, issue to be fixed

May 18, 2008I've been using Apache for a long time, switched to fcgi, went to check load and I see that some sites are using like 10-15% of cpu (dual quad harpertown) for a 10 seconds or so. Wordpress blog which is using 700 mb of traffic per month for example.
Is this normal?
I wasn't been able to see that in the past so really din't knew that.
