I am wanting to get in to the webhosting/Server selling world. Now I want to start with something that won't cost me money. If it will cost money, it should be a one - timer and no more.
What did I have in mind?
Well, some kind of affiliate program where I get a form that sumbits data to the hoster that i'm affiliated with. This way I get a (small) fee.
What am I looking to sell then?
Anything
-dedi's
-vps
-webhosting
-gamehosting
All I need is a company that offers this kind of plan.
an affordable web hosting (around $20 monthly) which offers support for MagentoCommerce and also has reseller hosting. I am very interested in trying MediaTemple Grid service but apart from that they don't offer reseller hosting.
I am planning to signup with one or more web hosts as an affiliate to make some money and would like to get some suggestion from you guys. (BTW, I have read plenty of old posts here at WHT and reading more when I find time).
- What is(are) the hosts that provide top recurring payouts (20% and above)? anyone in particular to avoid ?
- Is it wise to join only one or join atleast a few (2 or 5 ?) to spread the risk ?
- lastly, can money (mid 4 figures per month) be really made by being an affiliate ?
Does anyone knows if ubercart has embended affiliate tracking capabilities? Do you know if any other open source e-shop has this feature? Could you suggest something you know from experience or heard of?
I'm currently looking for another affiliate network other then motive interactive. I'm trying to find more advertisements for other areas in the world. I love motive interactive so far but it's focus is mainly on US. I have a few ads that I'm using for AUS, UK and Canada but what about the rest of the world.
on my internet travels today I found a site that provides a warranty on web hosts. I'm not entirely sure of the details so I can't really comment on it but I found it rather interesting.
Anyway, some deeper digger found that this site is merely a rebranded hosting affiliate, with their top provider rank held by the one and only, Bluehost!
I have $100 in affiliate payments showing in my affilate panel with hostnine.com but they wont pay me. I logged tickets which they ignore, I posted on their forum and they told me to email an address that doesnt exist then locked the thread. I posted another thread which they deleted. I PM'd a guy called Ben there as one of the agents told me that only he can deal with it, he never replied.
I chatted online and as soon as I tell them what I want they dont reply to me.
They owe me money from August 2007 and wont pay me.
What do I do? How do I get them to pay.
They provide a great service in ALL other areas but how do you get money from them?
I've seen everyone and there grandma promoting Hostgator. I was wondering if you can share if you're converting sales or not. I'm guessing the Hostgator program works if everyone seems to have an affiliate account.
I'm creating a site similar to slickdeals & bensbargains and I'm trying to find a script that I can integrate into my text editor (tinymce.moxicode) that will create a tiny url as well as the redirect page automatically using php & mysql.
Looking at the following mouseover link from slickdeals:
slickdeals dot net/?pno=6999&lno=1&afscr=1
where it always starts with slickdeals dot net/
?pno=6999 each deal added gets a +1 to this number. The next deal would be 7000.
&lno=1 each link within a particular deal. Where the first link to the deal is lno=1, the next link (rebate) would be lno=2, etc.
&afscr=1 I'm not sure what this is for, I moused over a bunch of their links and they are all =1.
But the bottom line effect is that when you click on one of their links, it brings you momentarily to a blank page and then bestbuy dot com/etc/etc/etc comes up. The user never sees the funky affiliate link.
The best I've found so far is gentlesource dot com/short-url-script/
For those of you who offer Virtuozzo VPS and especially PBAS, what affiliate program do you use that can integrate well with Virtuozzo/PBAS? I have been sending request to Parallels development team regarding the affiliate program integration to PBAS but after serveral years this has been a dead request.
I am planning to create a hosting directory really soon and sign up affiliate accounts of the most popular hosting providers. What recommendations could you provide me with to make visitors become interested in ordering hosting from my website?
I was wondering if there are affiliate programs that pay for referrals to free hosting sites? Preferably free hosting sites that would allow flash content.
I say relative, because I have built several websites in the past, going back to 1998 or so, but have never really pursued it heavily, and only recently have decided to get into the game on a more proactive scale.
In searching for a web host, I run across common TOS which seems on the surface to exclude what I want to do, which among other niches I've got in mind, include investing (gold, real estate, forex, commodities, etc.).
Maybe some of the hosting vendors here can help me with clarification. I do not want to host an investment platform, like a stock or forex trading platform. I just want to publish info sites with affiliate links to the investment products I deem worthy.
Any problem with that? If so, does anyone know of good hosting for such sites?
I've perused many hosting forums lately and find this one to be among the top of the top! Good job WHT owners!
I've been trying to get in touch with them regarding a 4PSA licence I bought from them a while back, but they are not returning any emails to either myself or 4PSA.
What is the best host that allows adult hosting that is a reputable company with solid uptime. Cheap shared hosting is fine anything other than lunar pages that allows for monthly billing.
I am planning to host my personal website which will be a bunch of static pages for the time being with the possibility of moving to PHP/Pearl CMS later.
For this, I think that a basic hosting plan of about .5-1GB space and 5-10GB bandwidth would be well enough.
Can you please suggest me a host which would cost around 2-3$/month and has a moderately good service? I came across companies like Umbrahosting and HostPC which are cheap. Do you have anything to say about them?
Moreover, some hosts give combo offers of webspace+domain registration. Is it wise to register the domain through the host or to register it separately through godaddy etc?
Im in the process of setting up my ecommerce store selling baby/childrens clothing items etc. But I cant decide what webhosting site to use. Ive heard a lot about hostmonster and 1and1...which one of these are better?
I've just received my second suspension from them, for having 5 visitors on my website, which was abuse of their resources.
I had issues with them last month, they claimed I was using too much resources and had to upgrade to Business class. I've paid for two years there as it is.
Every time I would get these notices, I'd work with them and it was found that one comment bot was hitting my site repeatedly (one post several times in a row which really shouldn't cause any problems anyway) and would cause things to raise. In their email, their support said:
Quote:
Your account is unsuspended now. Please check and prevent future overloads. Also we can block ip addresses of your referrals, when all connections is from one ip instead of suspending your account. Should we block 92.48.193.58 and similar?
When I said yes, I was sent this reply:
Quote:
Hello,
IP 92.48.193.58 blocked in our firewall. We'll act similar way, when your account will be leeched from one IP. Now this ticket is being closed.
So tonight, I redo a post, since their hotlink protection isn't stopping hits on the photo being linked to, which involved uploading an image and deleting the old, and shortly thereafter I get this:
Quote:
Dear Customer,
We have suspended your account due to resource abuse. Please find the related information below:
All of them supposedly me. But at any rate, only 5 users at namecheap can apparently bring about a suspension. I have never in my life had such treatment by a host. Most of the site is a static site, where most people land. And this is for less than 50 people on a daily basis.
They may have a good reputation as a domain reseller (yes, they're now ICANN registrars, but they haven't switched over yet, they're still reselling for Enom) but they had better rethink their webhosting.
People I know who have WordPress pages at places like Dreamhost, Lunarpages, all the rest have way more traffic than I do and yet they don't have these problems. I'm just sick at they way I've been treated there.
Whatever you do, don't host with namecheap. I'm truly sorry I did. And if anyone wants to verify that I host with them, it's hauntedlights.com, obviously a really exploitable site. It's about haunted lighthouses.
