Apache :: Won't Serve Up CGI
Jan 25, 2013I have installed Apache 2.0.64(Win32) and after repeated tries at adjusting the httpd.conf file, it still is refusing to serve up CGI. So far I have, following the Apache documentation, set my designated CGI directory with AddHandler directive, Option +ExecCGI enabled. Also have added the ScriptAlias directive as per instructions. These directives should work in conjuction with modules mod_alias and mod_cgi, both of which I have made sure were set to be loaded. The log files show no errors. There are no syntax errors being pushed out at start-up. The server stops and starts upon commands, with no problems,
I will post some excerpts from my httpd.conf in the pastebin as soon as it gets up & running--right now the authentication icon is missing.I have Active Perl 5.16 running on this machine, but my Apache download is the binary without SSL and with msi installer.
Apache :: Unable To Serve More Requests
May 25, 2015I have a little problem (on my Raspberry) with the maximum concurrent connections.When I open multiple tabs of a webpage which keeps persistent connections, apache is unable to serve more requests.Here is the (shortened) mod_info output (which also takes some time till there is a process kind enough to serve the request):

When I understood it correctly, apache should spawn new processes (up to MaxRequestWorkers=150)
But there are idle???? processes, so it wont add new ones?
I dont think it has to do with mod_proxy (used for the webpage) since the mod_info output is affected as well...

Aug 31, 2013I need to serve domain subfolder from different Apache 2 server.
1. Squid 3 reverse proxy is pointin to 80.241.222.151 for domain [URL] ....
2. Apache 2 server is on 80.241.222.151 with all files in the root folder so all requests are served from here
3. Now im creating new server at 80.241.222.149 with all files from [URL] ... transferred to the root
4. On Squid 3 server [URL] .... is still pointing to 80.241.222.151
5. But now i need to call [URL] .... from 80.241.222.149 in the root.
What is the example to do this? mod_proxy on Apache 2 server at 80.241.222.151?

Apache :: Serve XML File As Response For Appropriate Request When Web Service Is Down
May 30, 2013I am using the latest version of Apache on an Windows XP machine
When my web service is down for maintenance, since Apache is will still be up and running, I would like for Apache to serve an xml file as a response for the appropriate request. I have three operations available, makePayment, calculateFee, and voidPayment.
Is it possible to have Apache determine what type of request is made for example if I have an xml error page for each operation; how will Apache know which xml file to serve based on the operation request from the client
To make it more clear: What is the best practice for modifying apache to know what request is being made in order to serve the appropriate xml file?
Apache :: Trying To Rewrite URLs With Query Strings
Feb 23, 2013I need htaccess file for one of my sites. I've searched everywhere, and I can't find a solution for my problem.
System Info:
Easy Apache v3.18.1
CentOS 6.3 (x86_64)
So I'm trying to redirect all URLs in a certain query range to a new website. i.e.,
mydomain.com/?p=35000
mydomain.com/?p=35001
mydomain.com/?p=35002
mydomain.com/?p=35003
etc.
all need to 301 redirect to myotherdomain.com
I don't need to append each query to the new domain. All the URLs simply need to redirect to the naked domain of the other site. So
mydomain.com/?p=35000 is not redirecting to myotherdomain.com/?p=35000
It is simply redirecting to myotherdomain.com
Also, I need to redirect the specific series ([35000-35999]) to the new domain. I want to redirect the www and the non-www URLs.
I've attempted to write the code myself, but when I upload the htaccess file, the URLs are not redirecting. I'm doing something wrong.
Here's what I've tried:

Apache :: Rewriting URLs Before They Are Returned To Client - How?
Apr 24, 2013I need to accomplish the following:
1. User hits my new 2.4 reverse proxy at [URL] ....
2. I proxy the request through to my "real" app server at [URL] ....
3. I also use a re-write rule to add a querystring to the URL: ?Parameter=Foo
4. So, client's request arrives at the my app server as [URL] .....
5. When my app server responds, it is including the Parameter=Foo key/value combination. I don't want this.
6. I want my reverse proxy (somebox.com) to strip "Parameter=Foo" from the string which gets returned to the client.
I have steps 1 & 2 working nicely, but it looks like I can't handle the last bit with with mod_rewrite. I found mod_filter and mod_substitute, but it appears that this stuff is used for re-writing strings IN the document. Can these libs be used to maybe modify (I'm guessing here) the headers so that the "?Parameter=Foo" string can't be seen on the client if they're running something like fiddler?
Apache :: Mod Rewrite To Overcome Relative URLs
Jun 3, 2013I've taken over a site that caters for client access. They all access there own folder, and in the folder the files have an include with a relative path as below.
/core - contains all the actual files
/client/file.php -
<? include "../core/file.php";?>
but with the growing number of clients I want to go a level deeper and separate them better...
/uk/client/file.php -
<? include "../../core/file.php";?>
This is fine but when the files are included, they too have there own relative includes and this is where it breaks.
There are so many files I can't easily go through them to change all the include paths so I would like to maybe do a rewrite to fake the path? I've tried this...
RewriteRule^uk/$ /
But that doesn't work.

Mar 11, 2015I used a little vServer with ubuntu (turnkey) and use logwatch to be informed by email about any errors. I'm confused about the following errors from Apache:

But the same URL without / is found and ok. I must day that both URLs show up correctly in browsers and the non / version is redirected to the one ending in /.Here is my .htaccess:

This redirect works fine on Apache 2.2.8, but doesn't work on Apache 1.3.41
The following is the entry from error_log:
RewriteRule: cannot compile regular expression '^sap-latest-news/([0-9]*)/([A-Za-z0-9_-.]*).htm$'
A simple Rewrite is working fine in Apache 1.3, but the above regualar expression doesn't seem to be working on Apache 1.3. Does anyone know whether Apache 1.3 doesn't support it?
Set Apache Handler Through .htaccess - Possible?
Jun 2, 2007I am running into a bit of a problem. Previously, I can add an apache handler through cPanel easily... but now I moved to mediatemplate.net and that feature isn't available on their contol panel. Since they also run apache, I figured that I can set the apache handler manually through an .htaccess file - is that possible? If so, what is the syntax that will enable me to set .html files to be handled like .php files?
There is one setback to this process - this will be a manually inserted file for every directory that I want to do the above stated file handler. Is there an easier way to do this via SSH? I don't have root access, only normal user access.

Jan 25, 2013I have a directory of /flash/1.swf all the way to /flash/4000.swf on my hosting.I am trying with terrible luck to load the flash movies into the container on zomgflash dot com(avoiding possible spam) -- its all setup...it should be loading the movies...I think it's a mod_rewrite problem but I could be wrong...it's basically a clone of iwantmoar dot com(avoiding spam again) -- you'll notice when you type a number after the domain like /238 or /2898 that it loads up /flash/238.swf or /flash/2898.swf into the flash container on the iwantmoar website. That's what I'm trying to get my website to do.
I need them shown like [URL] .... in the address bar... and that would have index.php load up 1.swf in the container if that makes more sense.This is the contents of my .htaccess from my relentless googling:

category/brand URLs:
redirect: /ID-some-brand (e.g. /43-religion-clothing or /26-ichiban) to: /some-brand (e.g. /religion-clothing or /ichiban)
Product URLs:
redirect: /some-category/ID-some-product-name.html (e.g. /mens-sweat-shirts/1543-ichiban-fairly-offensive-sweat-in-grey.html)

We have 1,090 products and 60+ categories so some form of .htaccess trick would be amazing to know. What I could put in the .htaccess to accomplish this.

Also, I don't want the URL in the address bar to change, only the url sent to the server should change. This worked well in my localhost, but on webserver (0fees.net), it doesn't work ...
