I have tried calling them on their office in Germany, but it isnt the right phonenumber!
View 14 Replies View RelatedI ordered a server on Dec. 11 with iWeb, after a few days of waiting I haven't receive any confirmation regarding my server so I decided to sent a follow up email to my account manager, waited about a day for a reply and still nothing so I decided to talk to them via chat, talk to the chat guy for a few minutes and he transferred me to my account manager. I talked to my account manager and he said my server will be activated the next day and maybe he could fast track it and get it activated today.
The server was not activated on the day I talked to him or the next day. So I sent him a follow up email again and told him that if the server is not activated I will cancel my order and he replied to me saying that it will be activated for sure "sometime today". In short, the server was not activated again.. This is when I already sent him an email to have my order canceled and he hasn't reply to me since.
During the time I sent a follow up email to my account manager (the first follow up email) I also opened a ticket to their support. They reply to me saying that I need to make a payment for this order! For some reason they managed to screw up my billing and me ending up owing them money which absolutely does not make any sense considering they already charged my CC for this order and even credited my account because this order was suppose to replace my old server that I have with them.
I reply asking for an explanation and told them they should talk to my account manager, it took them 3 days to reply back and pretty much said the same thing to me. When they replied back, this is the point where I already emailed my account manager to have my server canceled so I told them that and still asking for an explanation on how I ended up owing money. They haven't reply to me since.
Guess what? After sending two emails (one for my account manager and contact form) regarding my order cancellation they still (and finally?) activated my server today!
Now I just finished talking to them via chat regarding this issue and they said they will credit my account and it will take 48hrs (which I highly doubt will only take 48 hrs) but still doesn't explain how I still ended up owing money. I want to see how my billing history will look like when they credited my account and go from there...
So for those considering iWeb...
iWeb has horrible support, great network and price but horrible support. I have a server with them since 2005 and I have never seen an improvement in support response time. I usually don't need their help anyway but this pisses me off so much because I needed the server asap and the way it was handled.
I have a server with Steadfast (now cancelled), Gnax and now Softlayer and iWeb support has the worst response time.
I am a reseller with Hostforweb.com and have a minor problem that is turning into a major problem.
A number of email addresses within my clients can't receive server generated activation or verification emails, and therefore, cannot join many professional sites. It seems to be problematic with php generated email. The last two sites that I have tried to join are:
Drupal.org and Joomla.org.
HostforWeb keeps saying that is the fault of the webserver that I am trying to activate membership on. I am getting the royal run around while I am losing paying accounts.
Any body with this problem on HostforWeb.com or any other web host?
Also, I can receive the verification email on other mail addresses - both POP and IMAP.
i purchased a basic vps package for $1 at netdepot.com. So i can learn something and if all works perfectly i can transfer my site currently on shared host. After the payment i received a email saying that my account will activate with in 24 hours. After about 15hours i got email from the billing department saying i need to verify my payment info and i send my cc copies to them. But now its more than 26 hours passed and still they didnt activate my account. Is it a complex task..? Im familiar with vmwear and to my knowledge creating a vps is a small task..

View 14 Replies View RelatedDue to the almighty cockup with UKeasily I desperately need a server up and running in the next few hours (on a weekend of all times GRRR!).
I was running a Quad2core Q6600 with 2x80GB HD, 2GB ECC, DirectAdmin, Managed, for just over £100($200) a month.
Obviously money is slightly less of an issue but since they've buggered off with years worth of server fees I can't afford to be frivolous.
instant or almost instant windows VPS server, is there any service which will do this not waiting few days?
View 2 Replies View RelatedMany guy will be answer: "yes, we are interested". And many DC have a such offer. But, usually it mean some time for setup - from 15 minute to few hours. I speak about true instant server - you will select config what comply to your requirements, order it, pay for invoice and within a few minutes after payment receive welcome message.
What you think about such offer? What server config will be interesting and with what O/S, addons, budget, etc.
I am currently using WinSCP to edit files on remote servers on the fly without having to download them and then open them. WinSCP works fine, but today I experienced a severe problem for a second time.
When saving a file (a css file), WinSCP gave me an error something to the effect of "Lost connection - Could not list directory"...or something like that. When I reconnected, the file has gone corrupt at 0 bytes. Ultimately, the file is history!
Thankfully, I had a backup of the file, but more specifically, I am a fan of "Ctrl+A " then "Ctrl+C" before saving any file when doing live edits. This is what saved my butt!
I have a continuous problem of losing my connection with the remote servers, but when I connect via SSH to my local servers (either locally here or when I am mobile), I do not believe I have EVER lost my SSH connection.
My question is this...
Is there another FTP program out there that anyone can recommend that will allow me to edit files over FTP that does not require download, then open? Filezilla works great, but to my knowledge, I can only download each file, then open.
I have reported the problem to the host and we have gone through the settings with WinSCP and I have also been to WinSCP about this issue...all to no avail.
I know it takes 24-48 hours for new domains to resolve and all that stuff.
But I was wondering. Say I am using my Registrar's DNS and I made 2 subdomains NS1.DOMAIN.COM and NS2.DOMAIN.COM and their A records point to my server.
Say I switch my websites to another server and my domains have the same name servers, NS1.DOMAIN.COM and NS2.DOMAIN.COM, but I change their A records instead, shouldn't the update be INSTANT? I mean, people should be instantly be able to access the new server as soon as I change the A records, right?
Because, currently, when I use the registrar's DNS and nameservers NS1.MYREGISTRAR.COM and NS2.MYREGISTRAR.COM and if I want to switch server, I just change the A record of WWW.DOMAIN.COM and I can INSTANTLY access the other server through my domain.
Shouldn't the same rule apply if I make custom NS1.DOMAIN.COM and NS2.DOMAIN.COM and use them as my nameserver istead of NS1.MYREGISTRAR.COM and NS2.MYREGISTRAR.COM?
Doesn't need to be too powerful, cheap preferred, but a host with at least some reputation.
Must have the following enabled:
php (with curl),
zend ,
exec , system , popen functions
how I can find a company similar to admingeekz.com which provide instant admin support for Debian servers? Admingeekz only work with Redhat. We need somebody who can look at our Debian server asap because it has been down for several hours and we don't know why.
I've googled around but could not come up with any company or free lance professional offering such a service (instant support). We can make a down payment via PayPal instantly and you would get root access.
I mean like no ID checks and they provide instant setup if I am paying by paypal. I know credit card they find it risky but I am paying with paypal they should not ask for any ID verification and Hostgator claims they provide instant setup but its very rare they flag your order even if you pay by paypal.
