Does anyone know any shared hosts that are under $5 that allow for unlimited domains, have a reasonable host space size and bandwidth. Also have good uptime?
View 9 Replies View RelatedI have always taken annual subscriptions out as is eliminates the temtation of switching hosts every time a new deal comes up.
My hosting packages is due for renewal and I need a package that will enable me to host multple domains, apart from that the standard extras cover my needs - SQL/ PHP support etc.
if there were services dedicated to hosting large files.
Basically, instead of those free upload sites (ie MediaFire), it gives a direct link to the file, the file doesn't expire, and there isn't a 100MB upload limit.
Would prefer to have 50GB+ space, and if bandwidth is metered, probably 100GB/month or over.
Obviously, there's no need for any scripting/dynamic content.
Would such a thing be available for around US$5/month?
(Considering that sites like Megaupload can give you 250GB of space with no bandwidth metering for around US$50/year, I don't think it's too unreasonable to ask for something less but with direct links)
Just wanted to ask for any reliable cheap web hosting... they pointed me towards godaddy.com but i am not too sure... i mean i am leaning towards it but... any other sites or recommendations?

View 9 Replies View RelatedI was wondering if anyone had any recommendations on good, cheap, ASP.NET web hosting companies preferably in the 5-7$/month range. I have a tiny site, but a lot of email, so having a few gigs of storage space would be nice. Bandwidth has never been an issue in the past, but the more the merrier. Support for the newest .NET stuff would be highly desirable (.NET 3.5, preferably win2008 servers, maybe a MSSQL db?)
View 10 Replies View RelatedProspective web hosting clients have to understand that there's a clear difference between a cheap hosting service and an affordable one.
For one, an afordable service has to do with the budget of the client, meaning the cient has a an amount he will like to spend on a web host account while a cheap web hosting service has to do with the price of the product in relation with the services offered. For example a shared host that you get for $10 will definitey have more features than a shared that cost $3.99.
You have to know what you want before taking an action that you may regret later.
I have a small client that needs to host a small blog somewhere in Europe.
Are there any DreamHost or HostGator equivalents over there?
Cheap Hosting for Wordpress MU site
I have recently bought a domain for blgos for designers and was wondering what hosting would be best to start of with and which compan to go with.
Shall I start with shared hosting then move to a VPS when needed?
Which company shall I go with?
Are Slicehost good?
Because I have just bought the domain, I won't need alot of bandwidth and space, but I will need to be able to upgrade quickly and easily. Oh, and cheaply.
I will put some advertising on the site so I will get a bit of money from that, but I want it to be cheap as I don't have much money at the moment. I might also have a 'Premium' members part where people get extra disc space, etc. So I will also get money from that to go towards the hosting, domain registration, etc.

I have seen various hosts runnig very cheap hosting on DSL lines, are they any good?
View 14 Replies View RelatedI would like to suggest visualvps to anyone looking for a vps because they are low priced with what they offer to you, they have alot of different linux server os' that you can choose from when you sign up. They offer cpanel for only $12 extra a month which if pretty good. They have very fast support, when I submitted a support ticket they replied very fast (in like 5-10 min)! I am very impressed with them and im sure anyone browsing this forum would be.
Personally I would give them 5 / 5 stars because they have earned it!
I know you get what you pay for with hosting, but with the ridiculous overselling going on I am finding it hard to work out how much bandwidth I can genuinely expect to get with about 500MB space and 99%+ (preferably more like 99.5%) uptime for $5/month.
I will be using all this bandwidth for hosting legal mp3s (sanctioned for promotional use by labels and artists), and would prefer the host to be based in the US or UK.
I'm about to launch a viral project that has realy good potential to strike it big, but would like to clear a few things first.
I would not like to have it associated with my name - not that it anything illegal, but in real life I'm doing something completely different and on the record would like to keep it that way.
So that probably means keeping the whois private - but I have another question as well. Suppose the project strikes it big - would a diggin journalist be able to still get my name/data from a hosting company too?
Is there a good hosting company with an all-inclusive service that you could recommend (that would get me a private hosting plan + a private domain name/whois)? And that would be reasonably priced of course + more importanty reliable (note have problems if/when there is a massive traffic surge to my site at one point in time)
Would probably take a shared hosting plan - need only PHP and imagemagick to start with. But again - bit part of my concern is what happens if the project makes it big and there is a lot of traffic - so ideally "unlimited" bandwidth and responsive admins...
This is probably a dumb question, but I've been curious about something. While shopping around for either a cheap dedicated server (less than $75/mo) or a cheap colo for a 1u server, I have noticed that the cheap dedicated servers are often less than a cheap colo, which seems odd to me since with a colo you bring your own machine.
For example, Sago Networks has cheap dedicateds for $50, $59, $79 etc. yet their cheapest colo option is $99. For Sago's $50 dedicated you get 1000GB transfer and 2 IP's, and with their $99 colo you get only get 100 GB transfer and 1 IP.
And Sago is not unusual in this respect. I've priced other providers that fall into this category and they have similar differences.
So why is colo more expensive than dedicated for similar, if not lower, features?
i looking for the servers (powerfull and cheap) i take this post in vps forum 2 day's ago but i understand that it is better for me to take the post in dedicated forum my friend's :
1-vpn server(with many ip)-->with high transfer + good performance(for start)
2-server for starting image hosting (with high or unlimited transfer + 100mbps )+atleast 50_60gb h.d.d
We recently began to mirror a large number of open source projects with a dedicated mirror server on our network and I was surprised not only with how popular the mirror server has become, is, but also of the ability of the hardware we're using to keep up with the load.
At an given time, the mirror seems to be pushing at least 50 Megabits of trafficthe server is also an IRC server (irc.igsobe.com) for customers and internal staff communications.
The hardware is a low end Dell Pentium 4 @ 2.66 GHZ server, running with 512MB of RAM and a 400 GB ATA hard drive. CentOS v5.3 is the operating system.
If you're interested, you can view the HTML logfile analysis here but that doesn't tell the full story as FTP users make up a good portion of the traffic. We've received over a quarter million hits in the first few days of November alone.
18:14:15 up 65 days, 9:04, 5 users, load average: 0.31, 0.69, 0.56
The only change that I made to the default configuration was lowering the maximum number of Apache servers to 128.
Just thought I'd share this information as I wouldn't have thought a server with such a small amount of RAM would be able to serve up so much data, even though we are talking strictly static HTML files.
I'll definitely keep this in mind when clients ask me for those "what type of dedicated server should I use for XXX" type discussions that are had all too often with clients.
I am shopping for servers with 32-64GB of RAM and the typical list price of $10/gbyte is not in line with reality (ie 4GB ECC DDR2 RAM can be bought for 70 bucks). I saw WebNX special offers between 2-300 dollars for 32GB machines, now that's more like it but, I cant really rely on special offers on the long run.
As my application will be frontended by a CDN, network quality is somewhat less of an issue. Reliability and price is. So who be good a choice for machines with lots of RAM? (almost obviously, AMD, Intel uses FB-DIMM and I am not inclined to pay through my nose for that) I guess WebNX is one,
what specs are possible at a few price points.
So, can someone give me an idea about what I'd get for $10/mo, $20/mo, $30/mo and above $40?
I plan on using this for some bandwidth-intensive applications, so factor that in if possible.
I am setting up a paid and free hosting site and looking for a vps to get started.
i am looking for the following spec:-
15gb webspace
200gb bandwidth
384mb ram
fixed ip
burst would be nice
then either cpanel or directadmin, not bothered really but since i really want to keep prices low it will probably end up being direcadmin unless there are any other options?
i am not bother for support really so unmanaged is fine although i do want the ability to do remote reboots from hypervm or something.
server location isn't too bothered but uk or us is preferred.
i have looked at cheapvps but just checking out other options.
Can it be that a VPS costs starting at $17 per month?
A2hosting.com provides 'em. I can't say that I know much about this company activity but the opinion of the community is important for me.

I'd like to set up a VPN or something similar between my house and my brother's house so we can easily share data and play games. I do not have any server software on my computer. I'm currently running Win2K and he's running XP. Is there a solution out there that's free or at least reasonably priced ($20.00 or so)?
View 4 Replies View RelatedI'm looking for a cheap VPS with the following requirements:
- Based in the EU
- Unlimited monthly bandwidth
- Price under 50 EUR / month, the cheaper the better
- At least 20GB space, at least 10 MBit, other specs do not matter
- Linux distro or FreeBSD, SSH access
- Good reliability, doesn't mean i want a 99% uptime guarantee, but something that doesn't have too many problems
Preferred locations are near Austria, but anywhere in the EU is good. Also it is a plus if they have upgrade options to better packages if i need it at a later time.
I liked Kimsufi, however I cannot rent from my country even though I can pay by credit card or paypal. I am based in Slovenia and i can pay by Visa debit or Paypal (Visa preferred).
