Nov 28, 2008Is there any sense to upgrade to cent os 5?I mean,is there any critical benefit which will increase server performance if i do that.I noticed i can upgrade over ssh but since that will generate downtime i wonder is there a sense to do that.

May 29, 2009Having trouble with LXadmin/Kloxo. Just bought a vps, installed Kloxo, and when i try to add a client or reseller it says i have no dns set up. then i go to set that up, and it says i dont have an ip address set up.
I went into admin>servers>ipaddresses and tried to add the ipaddress assigned to my vps but it says that it is already in use... i want to be able to host a website.

Apr 23, 2007I have a server in our office which is used as a share drive. Puts all accounting docs on it ect. After 6 or so, it will loss all conectivity completely. Yet the server still stays on. We installed everything in all packages on the server including it graphical interface. We havent mucked with any of the powersavings so what could it be. Also there is nothing plugged into it eg screen,keyboard and mouse. All that is connected is the power cable and the ethernet cable. That is it.
It is directly connected to a belkin wireless router

Nov 5, 2009I noticed with every new cent os server there are different mirrors for cent os repos.Since on each cent os repo file is same,how does it pick which mirror it pick?I ask beacuse latest server has picked one extremly slow edu mirror which is not just slow,it also timeout,and it may extend update to 2 hours instead 5 minutes which usually will take.So how do i change base mirror on base cent os repo?

Oct 21, 2009I Have Kloxo Runing in my Server , and i use Apache for handling php , and htaccess .
From kloxo Panel under Extra , Error Handling .
I made editing to where visitor will be taken when come to page not found , banned , ..etc
The error 404 , 403,500
But won't work , it just take User to the Apache Test page instaed takes him to the Page i spicifed..
So i edited htaccess like ErrorDocument 403 forbid.php to try redierct the users to the error pages but got same reslut instaed takes them to the apache test page .
I tried install Plesk and Try . But seems the Same thing , when user comes to not found page , or forbidden page he will be directed to Apache test page.
Proftpd Install Issue On Cent Os 5
Feb 22, 2008I have been attempting to install Proftpd on linux(cent os 5 32 bit). The issue is i have to use proftpd i can't use vsftp or pure ftp I have downloaded the RPM. I downloaded this one to the server [url]. and i ran the command rpm -ivh proftpd* and it did its thing for a second and told me it was done. But when i run the command /etc/init.d/proftpd start or restart it doesn't wanna start. It just tells me failed. Can anyone help me with this? I'm not sure what else i can do.

Can't Setup LxAdmin / Kloxo Hosting Package Using WHMCS
Jun 8, 2009LxAdmin recently changed their name to Kloxo, which also introduced some new features.
I've setup a Kloxo cluster, with the main server on 1 server, and all the others (mail, dns, web) on another server - still testing it out.
Then I created a package in Kloxo with some limits and gave it a name. Then, I went into WHMCS, and added the product, and chose LxAdmin from the modules drop-down.
I then proceeded to add the package name in, and told WHMCS to "Get the available choices from the server" and then I get the following error:

Kloxo Vs LxAdmin ? (The New Face Of Lxadmin)
May 11, 2009I rebuilt my VPS (again) today and noticed something different. Instead of the usual "Install LxAdmin" icon in HyperVM I read "Install Kloxo."
I looked at the demo and everything looked the same. Has anyone noticed any definite differences between the two? Has anything significant changed apart from the name?

CGI, SSI Won't Work
May 29, 2009I'm having exec cgi issues,
CentOS 5.3 x86_64, Linux, Apache/2.0.63,
cPanel 11.24.4-R36167 - WHM 11.24.2 - X 3.9
Error is,

If I "uncheck" IncludesNOEXEC in Apache Global Configuration the error disappears, but the SSI doesn't work. If I check it the error is there, but the SSI works.
Here's what I have done so far,
Through WHM,

I added,

Aug 29, 2007After spending nearly 4 days trying to get ftp working on my server i still haven't achieved it. I got a server with a default install of plesk and cent os 4. I update to 8.2 and when i first go to try ftp it says "server closed connection" on my ftp client.
So then i tried updating 8.2 again and the installer failed. So i tried manually installing both proftpd and pureftpd via ssh and yum and it fails to install. I've also restarted the server a few times. I've tried logging in with every single username/domain/i.p. assigned to the server. and i've had no luck.

SSH, How Does It Work

There are two ways of controlling your server, through control panel and through SSH, now SSH is where you type in codes to control your server.
Now from what I know you can't login to SSH alot due to security reasons.
I was wondering, if I have a forum can I login to SSH everyday to back up the database?
FTP Upload Does Not Work
Apr 2, 2006Whenever I tried to upload large files to my server it restarts the upload again and again and never actually uploads. It just keeps overwriting the previous file. I don't get any errors? It just automatically reuploads and overwrites the files everytime.
