Who Is Currently Using Ubhosting.net
Jan 4, 2008ubhosting.net has a pretty enticing offer in the offer forum and, while I have searched the forums for more information about the company or reviews, I haven't found very many.
I've had to resort to reading through many posts and looking for members comments. It seems that the people who have gone with them seem, for the most part ok, although, aside from some people saying they'd buy in, I haven't found much follow up on their experiences. I've found some established member comments here consistently saying that they're a good company run by a good person though.
However, from other people's experiences, it sounds like they're having problems and I'm not confident of the longevity of the company.
I'm especially concerned as their purchase links on their website no longer work (they worked a couple of days ago) and the domain that hosts the purchasing part of the their website (ubhclient.com) says "Account Suspended".
I found a previous post saying that their 1-800 support lines were down, and it was ultimately blamed on an Asterisk box being down. I've now noticed that they don't list an 800 number on their contact page anymore. We use 800 numbers at work for a monthly fee, and the only reason I can think of that they no longer have an 800 number is if they couldn't get that Asterisk box back up, or they had to cut costs.
I've also read some posts regarding slow response times for support tickets. Having worked support myself, I know that usually means either a lack of staff or too much work for existing staff (which I guess can essentially mean the same thing).
Couple all that with what sounds like some desperation to get people to pre-pay for a year up front, and it sounds like they're having some financial trouble.
Does anyone here use them and what do you use them for? Are you happy with them and the service? Are they worth going with?
Am currently trying to find a dedicated provider and while I'm aware that there are a lot of choices out there (and all you have to do is look), I'm going to assume that it's just as easy to find a bad company.
