View 14 RepliesI have seen that many companies like godaddy and other domain/hosting companies allow resellers to have their white-label domain reseller account.
And all they ask resellers is to just point the nameservers to their ips..
I would like to know how we can do the same?
I already tried it with CNAME record and had a success tooo.
But the problem is not everyone have access to CNAME records and they need to contact their service provider to change it for them.. and I do not want to put the resellers into that hassles.
But I would like to setup a whitelabel solution with nameserver in such a way where our customers will just point their domain to ns1.oursite.com, ns2.oursite.com and they see our website on their domain..??
another eg. for your understanding.
lets say, we setup a complete shopping cart on oursite.com and we have resellers who want a white-label cart .. then we just ask them to point theirdomain.com to our ns1.oursite.com and ns2.oursite.com so when they go to theirsite.com they see a complete shopping cart as good as hosted on their site.. without actually hosting any files on their site.
Basically, considering my host is in Europe/Malaysia, it uses APNIC for their RR, and for more IPs its $5.00 per ip/month. Which is a bit expensive for me, so I was wondering if there are people on here that sell IPs for cheap? It doesn't matter what country it comes up in with a whois lookup, or what RIR it uses, I just need more IPs for my dedicated server.
So does anyone sell? Or know where I can buy?
Our business has grown and we would like to know if it is possible to buy IPs (/18 or /19)
Anyone have any experience with this?
There's a gadget showing how quickly we are running out of IP4 addresses.

1) are the ip addresses provided to me by the comany public or they are private inside the comany and they use natting to reach it as I don't know how they treat all the servers in thier DCs?If I check my server configuration I will find the real public ip's?
2) How they put the servers together?I mean is there any logical division like VLANs or what?
If someone can help me on this as Iam going to rent my first server and I will manage it by myself.

IP Addresses: /26 (~60)
how do i find out if my ip address is one of the above, is this some thing to do with the class of the ip?
I got a deal. The person claimed he's from US.
Just curious. Is it possible that someone in Rusia, for example, can pretend that he comes from US?
I know one way is to use proxy. What are the other ways?
Is there a paid service/software that can make your IP look american, british, etc.
How can you tell if two IPs are setup on the same server without having access to the server?
View 6 Replies View RelatedI need web hosting that I can put 10 sites on with unique ips that the host provides.
How can I find someone who does this here on WHT?
I already have two accounts with other hosts like this but like to break things up through different hosts.
Please advise who would be good for this for $30/mo or less.
i have two different ip addresses from two hosting providers free and bind in running both of them. will i be able to setup ns1 and ns2 with those IPs for my new domain.
will it work?
How do you search for an IP to see which provider it belongs to?
Is there a website for this function?
Anyone know of a service that will allow an IP listed in "A record" to be redirected.
I have a client who has office based mail servers and some remote applications running and because of this their IT company has the nameservers. The NS entries cannot be changed
When I need to change A records, I then have to call the IT company, what I am hoping to achieve is have IT company set A record to xxx.xx.xx.xx and I can direct that to zz.zzz.zz.zz and change as needed.
Recently we add a new server,so we register ns3 and ns4 to 2 new ips,of the new server.
Then,in the old server,we set ns3 and ns4 as A records to the new ips.
Doing a dns reverse to ns3 and ns4 they report the correct ips. BUT When make a dns reverse for the nameservers ips,it makes a loop.....
Have been hosting with Site5 for the last few years, and have been very happy. I have a number of websites, it's easy for me to add another one (the domain points to a subfolder but the address acts like a 'real' domain if you type it in), they have everything I need and are cheap.
The downside is all my sites share an IP address. I'm either looking for some hosting at a few dollars a month tops (shared is fine) with PHP / MySQL, or an account that give me the ability to add as many domains as I'd like, and if necessary, give them all unique IP addresses.
Basically, I'm just looking to protect myself from anyone doing a reverse IP check on the domains. I suppose the ideal situation would be one where I could control / see stats for all my sites through one control panel, and just have the ability to buy another IP address when needed, and if I don't need to, share one IP with multiple sites...
I guess worst comes to worst, some cheap but reliable hosting (with someone that isn't going to mess me around or fold in 6 months time) where I'm going to share an IP with another few hundred sites would be acceptable...
I have 2 sites hosted on one host that ive had for about 3 weeks. One site has been around 7 months while the other site i built after i bought the new host.
Ive had reports this week that some people are finding it hard to get onto my new site, one told me today "it takes 20mins to load" and they were not exaggerating, another said 'the link is broken' after i twittered it. But when i try my site, it 100% always works and loads within 1 minute.
So would it be worth my while to buy a dedicated ip, and do i buy one from the host itself? As im unsure how it all works. Or shall i sit here and watch ppl complain on the other sites i run about how they cant access my new site
I found out that my server ip is being blacklisted checking through mxtoolbox.com and my web host has already sent a delist request to them and its been 2 days and still no reply from the blacklist site,

Is it ok to set up 3 ips in the registrar?
I have got 4ips from my new host
wanted one to b un-altered, the main IP
got 3 ips, set 2 ips as usual to the registrar for nameserver
is it ok to set the 3rd ip too into nameserver? I don't have any ssl or anything to b used for.
Can we use 3 nameservers , ns1,ns2,ns3?
Is it safe and what changes does this happen?
We all know that our localhost can be accessed at 127.0.0.1 or your the IP assigned by your NIC which starts from 192.168.1.2 (or 192.168.0.2 in some cases depending on the router you use).
My question is that, how do I map the other IPs 192.168.1.3, 192.168.1.4, 192.168.1.5 etc. etc. and have them point to my localhost?
i'm using hypervm/openvz
and i have the main package of ips which i have received from datacenter
i orderd other package ips (13) ips
i have add them to ip pools in hypervm and it didn't working
Note : netmask are different for the first ips and the second ips
when i create vps i can't login and when i ping ip it didn't ping ( requested timed out )
i have one server from softlayer and the other from limestonenetworks
when i order additonal ips from softlayer it works proberly .. now when i orderd those ips from limestonenetworks ; i think it must be modified manually
I was working with my server until 30 min ago. suddenly public IP addresses stopped working. I have access to the server directly from the console and local IPs with putty.

I have a customer who is looking for One Class C Rotating IPs.
What are Rotating IPs?(i guess from sound of it - IP keep chaning on a server).
But how are they achieved/configured.
I ordered 4 unique IP addresses 2 weeks ago for our server. Have still not had them even though I seem to be constantly chasing the company.

Most registrars need 2 ns which 2 IPs are sufficent. Why some hostings are giving 4 IPs?
I ever sign up with one hosting which give 1 IP. If a minimum of 2 IPs is needed, what else can I do other than pay money for an extra IP? Feel cheated.

I used 4.2.2.1-3 on my servers now.
Here's what I'm trying to do:
Use OpenVPN running on a virtual server (Debian) to allow clients to access the Web. I am purchasing additional IP addresses from the host and want to assign one per client.
I'm pretty sure that OpenVPN will do this based upon what sites like AnonymousChannel and FindNot do.
I have just purchased a dedicated server with CPanel and 6 dedicated IP addresses to host a few websites of my clients including my own website. My server is assigned the first IP address i.e. IP1.00.00.00.
I would like to have my own private name servers along with dedicated IP addresses for my own website (xyz.com) and my client website.
I purchased a domain xyz.com and created my own name servers by using the first 2 IP addresses.
Ns1.xyz.com - IP1.00.00.00
Ns2.xyz.com - IP2.00.00.00
Q1) Now will the first IP address (IP1.00.00.00) create any issue as it is assigned to both nameserver-1 and my own server? Or shall I change the IP address of my server to IP3.00.00.00?
Q2) I would like my own website i.e. xyz.com to have a dedicated IP address as well. So shall I use one more IP address i.e. IP4.00.00.00 for my own domain (xyz.com) or is it not required?
Q3) My client website also requires a dedicated IP address. I have sent him the nameserver details for him to point his domain at my newly created name servers i.e. Ns1.xyz.com and Ns2.xyz.com
Q4) Now shall I assign the fifth IP address i.e. IP5.00.00.00 for my client's domain? Or when his domain points to my name servers (having unique IP addresses) - another dedicated IP (IP5) is not required for his domain? Please suggest.
Now IP1 and IP2 are being used as nameservers.
IP1 is associated with my server as well
IP4 for my own domain xyz.com (or is it not required as IP1 is assigned to Ns1.xyz.com)
IP5 for my client's website
Q5) Is the above distribution of IP addresses between name servers, my own domain and my client domain correct?
I am sorry I have little knowledge about these IP addresses and name servers.
My idea is to assign a dedicated IP address to my own website (xyz.com) and my client's website along with having 2 IPs reserved for my private name serves.
I've set up IIS and Apache using different IP's on our development server and everything seems to run ok even though they're both using port 80.
Does anybody know of any conflicts or potential problems this can cause, I'm just worried something will go wrong once/if I set this up on the our production server?
1- What means that the site has an IP?, what will differ if the site has an IP?
2- What is the importance of IPs for every site?, I mean now I'm running a shared hosting, Should each site has it's dedicated IP? and is it dangerous to make all clients has same IP?
3- I got 5 IPs with my server, how can I assign a DEDICATED IP for my main site, and then assign the 2nd 2 IPs for my main site Name servers & Finally assign the rest IPs for Resellers?
4- In the domaintools whois Service, Under Server Data category, sometimes I found :
Dedicated Hosting: domain.com is hosted on a dedicated server.
what this means, and how can I make my domain looks like this , cause it's already hosted on a dedicated server.
5- When I asked my Server Co. about extra IPs, they told me:
" for smaller allocations its $1 per ip, we also require full ARIN IP justification." so, what's ARIN IP justification?
