Undesirable Posts
Feb 6, 2007
I have severall sites with simple forms for introducing data.
I have protected them against php injection but i keep receiving more and more posts undesireble.
I have them as a simple way for my users to enter the info.
But i get posts in italian in my listings and so on.
I have tried to cancel the access to some ips but they keep using other ips.
I have tried to place a small image but they are able to get through it in any case.
I even try to make an approval before but that takes much time.
I have links for domains like
[url]
[url]
When i make a whois all of them point to the ip and supplier below.
I have already send a email to all contacts of casablanca but i got no answer.
How can i complain about casablanca don't answer my requests to close these domains ?

I am getting a full 42U, and have option for 2 post rack and 4 posts cabinet. Meanwhile I know 4 posts cabinet is more secure, but the vendor is good enough, and the difference in price is around $150/month, which one should I use?

As former employee I was interested to read the threads about the Chicago DC break-in in '08, as well as all of the negative comments in various threads. In particular there was a thread about listing the worst web hosting companies. I must say I was shocked that cihost was only listed one time!
With intimated knowledge of their network infrastructure, I am even more surprised that they are still in business. Why? Let me tell you...
ALL network gear purchased on ebay, no manufacturer warranty or support contract. This includes main routers at all sites (I was there when Newark closed, I hear Chicago is closed as well.)
Many outages were due to lapsed payments to power and carriers. When the main DC in Bedford would lose power, there was never enough generator capacity to support both servers and AC. Actually the generator could not even provide enough power just for the servers!
Twice a squirrel died on a power pole outside the main DC in Bedford, TX, shutting down the site for a day or two. I saw the corpse of the one in '07. (Must have been a previously unsatisfied customer trying to shut them down, poor thing.)
Some of the employees were very good folks, drastically underpaid but trying to do a good job in a horrible working environment. The rest were bitter, angry people consumed more with acquiring what power they could, with little or no concern for customer support.
Sorry this turned into a rant, I'm just curious if anyone on this site is still a customer and how their service is now?

I'm having problem with my IPB forum which runs on MySQL database (hosted on linux Fedora).
Our website was unavalable for a short time, and when it came back on-line, we found we cannot create new topics/add replies, in short, we cannot add new records to ibf_posts table. However, editing existing posts works, sending private messages works, so database seems mostly OK, apart from posting. Whenever we try to post/add new topic, we get IPS Driver Error. We have tried restarting MySQL several times, but it didn't solve the problem.
Looking at the error log, we notice the following lines (but we're unsure is it about this problem):
Quote:
[Sat Nov 01 19:32:06 2008] [error] server reached MaxClients setting, consider raising the MaxClients setting
[Sat Nov 01 19:39:25 2008] [error] mod_fcgid: fcgid process manager died, restarting the server
[Sat Nov 01 19:39:36 2008] [warn] child process 2281 still did not exit, sending a SIGTERM
and then several hundreds lines like this:
Quote:
[Sat Nov 01 20:21:53 2008] [warn] child process 26643 still did not exit, sending a SIGTERM
...
[Sat Nov 01 20:21:56 2008] [error] child process 26643 still did not exit, sending a SIGKILL
...
[Sat Nov 01 20:21:57 2008] [error] could not make child process 26643 exit, attempting to continue anyway
...
It seems really strange that forum and database seem absolutely OK, that editing and private messages work (and Admin CP seems fine) but that it throws IPS Driver error on new posts only?
