Users Cannot Connect To MySQL Via Phpmyadmin
It seems I am having issues with WHM/CPanel. I cannot connect to mysql via phpmyadmin through WHM as a root and get this error #2002 - The server is not responding (or the local MySQL server's socket is not correctly configured) All users get the same error when they try to access mysql from cpanel. The access seems to be only for valid for 192.168.1.% Would allowing access to localhost will help and how can I do that for all users?

Limit Concurrent Users In MySQL
I try to search and not found the solutions to limit concurrent of db users to connect to MySQL in same time for example: Limit user root to connect to MySQL maximum 5 connections in same time There have max_connections setting but it limit for all users in all connection to MySQL. But I found that in version 4.1.x there have max_connections property in user table (Users and global privileges) of mysql database, this setting is limit connection in 60 minutes. I would like to know if there any setting or code modify for this solution that I want.

Users Cannot Connect To Remote MySQL Server
I have a few users that have a hosting account with me and are trying to connect to their own MySQL servers elsewhere. Both said that they are able to connect to the MySQL server with other hosting accounts but not the ones hosted with me. I asked if they had setup permissions to allow remote connections from my server and they confirmed that they did. What am I missing? Do I need to configure my firewall somehow? I figured the connection is just using port 80 since it's from an PHP script right?

Preventing Users From Connecting To Other Users Database
On my server, users can connect to any database as long as they have the database user and password. This makes it easier to hack any database on the server. What I want to do is to make the users can only connect to their own databases and not other's. I tried changing the localhost ip address but it didn't work ( I assume I didn't do it the right way)

Installed MySQL In /usr/local/mysql But Error In /var/lib/mysql
I installed the MySQL binary packages in /usr/local/mysql/ after removing the MySQL RPM package. MySQL is functioning when I executed /usr/local/mysql/bin/safe_mysqld. I reinstalled MySQL before I installed PHP. Unprivileged Users
I have a few system administrators having full access to the Windows 2003 servers. I fear some of them might be messing up with the server like opening websites on the server or downloading files on the server. I want to create unprivileged users to login to the server so that they can do the basic tasks like reading the log files etc. Can anybody give me the steps for the same?

SFTP Users
we have a WHM account... we have different accounts on that...and for each account, there are add-on domains underneath that. (i hope you know what i mean) and we set it up to use only SFTP to connect to server. no FTP. after we have set it up that way, it seems that we can only connect to SFTP using 1 user/pass for each account... that is the same user/pass we use for Cpanel of each account. say, i have Account A... under Account A, i have addon domains: A1.com, A2.com, A3.com... setting SFTP only on that server, all those addon domains of Account A, can only use 1 user/pass to login to SFTP which is the cpanel access also of Account A. question is.... is this behavior correct?? how can we create a different user for each add-on domain?

Does anyone have an experience with this host? In my search I found several favorable comments. I've been collecting different hosts names to consider from those of you kind enough to post them on your signatures. I'm with A Small Orange and am looking for a backup host, or will change the DNS to the backup if they are better. Others I am considering are Aspire and Known Host. I'll need a shared plan. My site is anywhere from 350 to 450MB's. I try to get twice the space I need because I can have a spike here and there since clients are always downloading my voice files for their projects.

My Users Said His IP Is Blocked
My user said he can not view his site from his IP address. His friend from the same ISP also canot access the site. But i can access from my ISP. So I think probably his IP address has been baned. Therefore, how can I check that? and how can i make his IP range available back?

Blurstorm Users
Does anybody have a working Blurstorm number? I've tried 850-445-6937 which I found on the internet, but no answer. Long story short. Signed up to host my website. Credit card charged and approved, but I never received a user name/password confirmation. I'm not able to log on to anything. It has been 4 months and they charge my cc every month which I dispute with the cc company. I can't cancel the web account. My next step is to cancel my credit card. I have emailed 4 times, left messages at the above number, talked with the chat line. No response. This company is a scam. Number one rule in chosing a host company, always make sure they have a working customer service number (call it and talk with someone).

Users Too Quick To Judge
I find it worrying when new or relatively new users post "[XYZ]VPS PROVIDER IS A SCAM" or "[XYZ]VPS ROBBED ME" in a topic because they didn't get the instant ticket response or fast enough setup time on their $10 VPS.. I'm planning on setting up a budget UK based VPS service myself some time soon, and users would do well to remember that a lot of hard work goes in to the management and set up of such providers. This kind of negative publicity can not be taken back once posted. A quick google search will throw this kind of a post up and cause irrepairable and often, completely unnecessary harm to a business..

Files Not Downloading To Users
I run a download website boasting many files (entirely legal, non-pornographic), the sizes of which range from 100KB to 500MB. Some users of the site seem to be complaining of the files not downloading and or being truncated (i.e: it says it has been downloaded even though it has not been fully downloaded.) Here is one reply I received: "No specific massage appears, only sign the download is complete and infact it is not. About 7 mega down loaded instead of 79 mega. I use fire fox browser and ADSL internet line speed 512" All the files however do seem to download perfectly on my computer, though I have a good 8mb line, which leads me to believe it may be something to do with a timeout setting?

For example 10,000 very small websites using sub domains 1000 average sites with top level domains? Users Cannot Receive Email
my server is linux and plesk. SMTP Server (QMail) is stoped in PLESK >> Server >> Service Managment and I cannot start from there. my customers cannot send/receive their emails, I contacted with our data center to solve this problem for me and they said because the CalmAV was disabled we have this problem, we start the CalamAV but we have this problem yet! we can sent mail from server but we don't receive any mail.

Some Users Can't Access My Sites
I have several users that can't access my sites, they are all from different areas of the world, most are on PC's with WinXP and one is on a MAC. I've had them do all the normal stuff..clean cookies, cache etc all with no luck. I have a dual processor server running Red Hat 7.3 i686. I do have KISS firewall running. If I stop the firewall, they can get in, but I can also bring it back up and then for several hours they can still connect, but at some point, they stop being able to. I currently have no ip's blocked. AOL Users Can Not See Website
We have a small Hosting reseller account at eNom. We have a new customer that moved his website from another hosting company to ours. The website is on a shared IP. Enom also uses a internal IP for internal use associated to the domain. The problem we have is that AOL users can not see the website. As far as we can tell no other ISP's are having this problem. Everyone can see it except AOL users. When AOL users go to the site they get "Page can not be found". After several calls to enom support and them triple checking the DNS we still have the problem. Of course I have tried about 15 different phone numbers to AOL and I get the same automated service that wants an account name or number. Without it they won't let me talk to a real person. How Many Users Will My Host/site Be Able To Support
I know this sounds a difficult question, but any rough answer is better than none. I am sure there are rough expectations. Will it be 10's, 100's, 1,000's, 10,000's etc. I am looking at a dedicated server Intel Pentium Dual Core 2.0GHz, 1GB memory with network speed of 100mb (with gigabyte burst whatever that means). [url]- bronze package - if anyone is interested) I will run one site only. The site has very heavy database usage and normal page views with average images. Video / most photos are hosted and delivered with a seperate, top-quality CDN. Your answer might be... "You should get about 1000 surfing, using database etc. before you notice a slow down" etc. I suppose the thing is.. at what stage would I need a second dedicated server / package upgrade / what will this server get me?

UK Users Unable To Connect To One Of My Websites
I've been getting a lot of complaints today on my forum that users cannot view their websites which are subdomains on a seperate domain that I own. It makes no sense why they would have access to the forums which is on the same dedicated server, using the same IP, and with the same nameservers as the site they cannot access. This issue started last night out of nowhere. Where should I even start looking? It appears to only be with overseas users since none of the US and Canadian users have any issues with either domains or their subdomains.

Users With Old SSL Certificates Cached
We renewed our SSL certificate about two weeks before it expired, and pushed the new one to our servers. All has worked well, but a very small percentage of users are complaining that they're seeing errors that the certificate is expired. Is there some browser or something that would cache the old certificate client-side even past its expiry?

Any Multple Web Host Users
I have medialayer but I still have a contract with ICDSoft (love them too) I've been waiting for the ICDSoft contract to expire later this year and move that website over to medialayer but it occurred to me, why. I get a gig of storage with ICDSoft and I'm using a lot of that. I may blow my quota on medialayer if I move that site over. Just seems odd for me to have only a handful of sites but yet have two web hosting companies. I may have gone completely over to ICDSoft, but my MovableType blogs don't seem to work as seamlessly on ICDSoft. Also MediaLayer seems to have faster servers which is great on one site that hosts a lot of images.

Imhosted Vs GNAX - Users Can't Get To Site
I have a site hosted with Imhosted. 6 days ago, three users, one from Denmark, one from the UK and one from California - all reported connectivity trouble. I asked for tracert's from all three. Two of them fail at 209.51.131.250 ( the California and Denmark one ) and one fails at 209.51.131.234 Both are GNAX servers. I contacted Imhosted - and for 6 days they have ducked, dived, denied, and given me totally inappropriate stock replies ( such as asking me to check my IP address - when the actual affected IP addresses have already been supplied numerous times). They tried to fob me off saying it was an ISP issue ( two continents, at exactly the same time - yeah, right ) Imhosted have SAID, on two occasions, that they've contacted GNAX to have them fix the issue. So far, the problem remains for all three users. Fortunately, we have a dedicated server of our own already, and we will be moving to it in the next few weeks. But meanwhile - what the hell can I do to rattle some sense into Imhosted and/or GNAX to get these poor guys back onto the site? I've had three years of hell with Imhosted. Useless support, dreadful performance, unusable email, PHP and SQL issues - all in all, a dreadful experience.

this is not a WHMCS vulnerability, & you are most likely not affected if you have used the Further Security Tutorials, given by WHMCS. 1.) What has happened? A professional hacker, signs up as a client, & adds a shell script to your attachments/downloads folder. He gains complete access to your WHMCS admin, & changes your paypal & other gateway emails/accounts, to his emails/accounts. 2.) What to do? How do I know so much about this? Our installation, was also hacked. But, this hacker made a mistake. He used his email account password, for signing up. Hacker has changed his modus operandi. He now changes the paypal, to some other host's paypal, instead of his. How Do Facebook, MySpace, Etc Serve So Many Users
when I type in www.facebook.com or www.myspace.com I'm taken to the main page but millions of people do the same thing every day. I have basic understanding of DNS but only for single servers and small websites. I don't know how these organizations link of the necessary servers so that their website is available to all.
