View 2 RepliesIs it possible to export the MYSQL DB from an Hypervm backup file?
If possible,how to?
As I fail several times to restore it in Hypervm.
we know hypervm/lxadmin have some exploit. My server is ruuning with lxadmin. Is there any panel to replace it? I mean we can easily to reload OS, use File Manager like hypervm...
View 4 Replies View RelatedOn both Xen and OpenVZ nodes, how can we block all VMs from accessing the HyperVM & LxAdmin ports?
And what ports would these be again? 8888, 8887, 7777, 7778?
how do you setup LxAdmin/VPS's once HyperVM OpenVZ is installed..I got it installed from the server company, and want to know how to license HyperVM's.

Dear Customers,
Multiple security vulnerabilities were discovered in hyperVM and Lxadmin/Kloxo. It is recommended that you update your hyperVM/Kloxo systems to the latest version, as soon as possible.
Details of the vulnerabilities will be posted in the coming days in our forum.
On hyperVM or Kloxo master, Run:
/script/upcp
Lxlabs Support Team
I run hypervm/lxadmin and centos
My issue is that my websites I have hosted there just come and go. They will be accessible for a few minutes, then return "unknown host" errors for a while, and then come back like it never happened.
I am amusiming this is a dns issue, but I am not really sure where to start. My dns template looks ok, but past that I am lost.
I currently have this code in my Image Upload script which changes the file name into sets of numbers and letters
Quote:
$new_file_name = "uploads/" . md5($_FILES['selector']['name'] . time()) . "." . $extension;
How can i make it so its smaller than an md5, about 6 or 7 numbers and letters.
I have a vps with lxadmin and a shared plan at a hosting comapny. How can i backup databases and files from lxadmin?
View 8 Replies View RelatedI have learnt it is harder to setup than I initially expected (since I have just moved from a shared hosting service). I am in need of some help setting up my DNS servers, as I am very confused. Here is most of the info I know:
1) I am running HyperVM
2) I've installed LXAdmin
3) I own the domain (purchased from xeodomains.com) runemart.com
4) My VPS hostname is: vps.runemart.com
5) I know my IP
6) My host has said:
'For VPS customers that have a HyperVM login you can now host forward DNS on the DNS servers rdns1.vaserv.com (US)rdns2.vaserv.com (UK'
And I am unsure what this means/how to do it.
I am not sure if I need some more information to set up my DNS, however I am sure that I can get it if I do.
Now, my questions begin. Firstly, I need to point my domain - runemart.com - somewhere. I believe I need to set up my DNS via HyperVM or LXAdmin so that they are something like: ns1.runemart.com and ns2.runemart.com. Though, is this correct? Am I able to set up my own actual domain name servers, or will my domain have to point at something like rdns2.vaserv.com?
If anyone can assist me in this I would be very greatful, as I am waiting to get my website running. This is all I will ask for now, I will take it one step at a time =).
The only backup I could get from crissic was my hypervm backup...
Can anyone tell me if it's possible to just restore this backup on a new VPS and have the code and mysql back to life? At the moment i've looked into the backup and can see the html files and the mysql database files.
Any of you use Central Backup festure in HyperVM?
I have a backup NAS from FDC but it uses FTP only.
Anyone use ftp backup with hypervm?
How do you set it up?
I'm thinking about using fun plug on the backup NAS but not sure if FDC allow it.
I have a VPS with one provider and have recently opened an account with another provider, I want exactly the same install on there as what I had on the old provider. Is it possible to backup the whole thing on the old VPS and then restore it on the new one?
This would save a lot of time editing and configuring files, and make the switch easy.
Would anyone happen to know the commands to restore a master backup file via command line on a hypervm master node?
View 2 Replies View RelatedIt's been a while since I've made a backup in HyperVM but in the past I've had no problems. I decided to make a new one after so long, but when I did I got the error "no permission to make back up []". I contacted my provider to fix it, but it's been almost 24 hours and they still haven't gotten anywhere it seems. They even asked for my DA login information which I don't think is needed to fix the problem but I provided it anyways.
My question is, is this problem really that hard to fix? How would one fix it? Maybe I can just tell the provider how to fix it so I can get this done ASAP and then I can get back to using my VPS.
I rebuilt my VPS (again) today and noticed something different. Instead of the usual "Install LxAdmin" icon in HyperVM I read "Install Kloxo."
I looked at the demo and everything looked the same. Has anyone noticed any definite differences between the two? Has anything significant changed apart from the name?
My basic VPS backup plan is to have WHM create a backup for me, save it somewhere on my local VPS, and then rsync it off site.
As a beginner with linux, I'm not sure where to have WHM put this file. Is there a recommended place to place this backup file -- it will only be there temporarilly, but I don't know a secure place to put it.
e.g. /home or should I create a new directory called /backups? (and if so -- once again, where in the directory tree do I put it?)
I currently do daily backups to rsyncpalace Daily, weekly, monthly. cPanel does a backup of all user accounts to a folder and they are rsync'd offsite via ssh.
My questions are: Should I be comfortable or concerned that all of my website(s)' data are neatly bundled, stored in plaintext (tar) formats and only protected by a single login and password?
Am I exposed to any more or less risk of tampering with my data than on my webserver itself?
What's the best way to set up an automatic file backup to Amazon's S3 service? I have a Linux cpanel VPS. I have minimal VPS administration knowledge but at least the VPS is managed by a good team
Is there any way to do incremental backups to save on the bandwidth charges?
(a full backup for me would be about 15 gigs each time)
I'm thinking about moving an account with one main domain and a bunch of addons from one cpanel host to another, using a whole site backup .tar.gz file. SSH does not appear to be an option at this point.
I just extracted the tar.gz to a local pc to get a look at what's in it. It has these 12 folders: bandwidth, cp, cron, dnszones, logs, meta, mysql, resellerconfig, userdata, va, vad, vf. Below these folders are also 14 unfoldered files, ranging from "addons" to "version."
So, will this work?
1. Does this mean the domains and all the addons will be set up with their original user names, passwords, and email accounts with all the same passwords, if I move everything to the right location? Will all the email accounts I've set up in my email client software work just as they do now with the current host?
2. How can I know where all these uploaded folders and files have to be moved once they're there?
3. Can I just upload the extracted contents to one location, or do I have to upload the unextracted tar.gz to a server, extract there, then move the contents wherever they need to be moved (but I don't know where things need to be moved now)?
I have created a Cpanel full backup of my website. The file is 2.65GB in size, but when I log in with my FTP client, I get a LISTERROR - [filename] and the filename doesn't appear in the directory window.
Can I still use a custom command to download this file?
I have a backup file at my old server like:
[url]
What is the command line I have to give to get this file by wget to my new server?
Please keep in mind that I have to give my old server user/password in this command line.
How I can import my backups from remote backup space to my VPS.

This feature will restore full backups, cpanel backups and cpanel move files in the format of:
cpmove-user.tar.gz, user.tar.gz, backup-date_time_user.tar.gz
The files must be in one of these directories on the server:
/home,/usr/home,/web,/home2,/home3,/root,/usr
You must upload the file to one of the above locations before using this feature.
why i see this error ?
I'm trying to recover a subdirectory from a full cpanel backup (tar file).
I placed the backup on the /home/<userdir>/
Then I listed the content of the tar file and the directory is in there:
backup-3.1.2006_11-36-43_userlin2/homedir/public_html/php/viacache/
I need to restore /viacache to the original location
Code:
tar -xvf backup-3.1.2006_11-36-43_userlin2.tar /public_html/php/viacache
response:
tar: /public_html/php/viacache: Not found in archive
also (absolute path)
Code:
tar -xvf backup-3.1.2006_11-36-43_userlin2.tar /home/userlin2/public_html/php/viacache

I have been finding MRSPUTNIK in User Agent strings hitting my Website and was wondering if anyone had any insight. I can find other incidences online, but can't figure out what it is indicating.
Has anyone else seen this?

I'm looking for a way to add a string to the end of an url if it contains a certain string (while using a .htaccess file).
If the url contains: derp.php it will add the following to the end of the url: &code=TEST
E.g. if an url contains derp.php?blabla it will be changed to: derp.php?blabla&code=TEST
How can I accomplish this?
