I have formated my linux Centos 4 server with PHP 4.4 and install Centos 5 with PHP 5.1 ( will upgrade to 5.2 soon ).
I succeed to restore all of my web sites and forums except one which has 110MB sql file, VBulletin 3.6.8.
I think the problem is related on my hack's and modifications I have done before...
Now I decided to install a new and fresh forum with version of 3.6.8 to be the same with ex one ( I will upgrade it after transferring ( migrating ) every threads, posts and members to new forum to 3.8.4)
But the problem is: when I restore the whole sql to new forum I had come across many problems.
THE QUESTION IS:
how can I transfer just "threads", "posts" and "members" to a new and fresh vBulletin forum ?
please note that my forum is not working now and I just have a "whole-website-backup.SQL" file and also back up of whole database folder in the linux ( it contains .frm , .MYD , .MYI files like: mst_post.frm , mst_post.MYD , mst_post.MYI and others...)
I have tried to copy these .frm .MYD and .MYI files on the new database folder but it was not worked!
I think I must restore by the help of .SQL file but I dont know how! when I recover whole the .SQL file forum does not work good and had some problem ( I can't log in to admin panel for example, and my VBSeo configurations gone and can't be repaire...
Please show me how can I transfer just my Posts and members to a NEW installed VBulletin forum with same or different "database name" and "database username".

I'm trying to redirect all people who go to [url]to [url]
I've got this but it doesn't do anything: (and I did verify that the .htaccess works, as
I added garbage text and tested and got an error).
Code:
Options +Indexes
RewriteEngine On
RewriteCond %{HTTP_HOST} ^www.mydomain.com/directory/$ [NC]
RewriteRule ^(.*)$ [url]

I have the following RewriteRule directive in my htaccess file on my localhost:-
Code:
RewriteRule ^([a-z-]+)/?$ test.aspx/app.nav/params.class.com${meta:$1}/whatever${meta:$1}
The rewrite rule works perfectly, since the revised URL is still preserved when after it is executed; I presume this is since my old URL is relative, and it's performing an internal rewrite.
However, when I make my old URL absolute (adding an external address to it), whenever I execute my new URL, I'm redirected to the external sites URL (which includes the same URL parameters as my internal 'test.aspx' page), like below:-
Code:
RewriteRule ^([a-z-]+)/?$ http://www.example.com/test.aspx/app.nav/params.class.com${meta:$1}/whatever${meta:$1}
Purely for demo purposes, upon execution, I'd like my new URL to be preserved in the address bar whilst, I'm redirected to the external site.
Is this possible to do - something like forcing the behaviour of an internal rewrite?
EDIT: I've done some investigating and people with similar problems have suggested using the Passthrough handler - although I'm slightly unclear as to what this does exactly, I gave it a go (adding '[PT]') at the end of RewriteRule, but unfortunately this didn't make any difference.
Is mod_proxy a possible solution?

In the last day or two I've been having issues with memory on one of by boxes.
Something eats it all up, so the OS starts swapping, the I/O wait shoots up, and soon the load is up in the hundreds and the thing is totally useless.
During the day today I've tracked the something to occational apache processes. It seems that occationally a thread is started which uses upwards of 150M of memory. These threads are obvioudly doing something heavyweight and take a while to complete. When I get a few of them running together it soons finishes off all my available memory. Below is an extract from top when a couple of these threads are running.
Code:
PID USER PR NI VIRT RES SHR S %CPU %MEM TIME+ COMMAND
10230 nobody 25 0 197m 27m 9392 R 45.5 2.9 0:03.27 /usr/local/apache/bin/httpd -DSSL
10231 nobody 25 0 197m 25m 8376 R 52.8 2.7 0:01.60 /usr/local/apache/bin/httpd -DSSL
I was wondering if anyone could help out by suggesting some ways of tracking down what page/script it which uses so much memory. It's a cPanel server so it's not really practical to tail -f the apache logs (not knowing which account it is means I don't know which file to watch).

I have Apache 2.4.6 x64 installation. With the lapse of time, more and more threads appear that are stuck in "L" state.
They are all gone after httpd restart, leaving 408 errors in access logs. What can be the reason?
Can mod_log_rotate be involved? Currently it's set to rotate every 2 days.

I have set up Apache as a SSL front end for our web applications deployed in GlassFish Server 3.0.1 Open Source Edition, how can I keep the original URL displayed in the web browser address bar unchanged after redirecting via Rewrite / ProxyPass and ProxyPassReverse
Reference 1:
RewriteEngine On
# If the request URL does not start with a slash (/), prepend it.
RewriteRule ^([^/].*)$ /$1 [E=redirect:y,N]
# If the request URL starts with more than one slash (/), keep only the first one.
RewriteRule ^//+(.*)$ /$1 [E=redirect:y,N]

I keep hearing that redirecting from http to https is not very secure [non-SSL to SSL]. Among other reasons, one reason is that the browser may continue to think it is communicating with non secure server and may not encrypt the data. Is it true? I hope not, I am using the following -
<VirtualHost 12.34.567.89:80>
ServerName www.mysite1234.com:80
Redirect / https://www.mysite1234.com/
</VirtualHost>

Say I have two domains: example.com and example.net.
Upon a http request to example.com, I wish to redirect to https://example.com.
Upon either a http or https request to example.net, I wish to redirect to https://example.com.
Note that for both cases, subdomains should also be redirected, and the change should be considered permanent.
I've seem multiple ways to do so. What is the best way? How do I deal with subdomains when there is a new domain such as example.net to example.com?
I've taken a stab. How to fill in the gaps?

Apache Web Server version: 2.2.22
OS: Centos 6 64 bits
Tomcat version: 7.0.57
What I need to achieve is the following:
I have some plain websites defined this way:
<VirtualHost *:80>
ServerAdmin example1@example1.com
DocumentRoot "/opt/sites/example1/"
ServerName example1.com
ErrorLog logs/example1-error_log
CustomLog logs/example1-access_log common
RedirectMatch permanent ^/(.*) http://www.example1.com/$1

I have the following Apache redirect code in .htaccess:
RewriteRule ^sap-latest-news/([0-9]*)/([A-Za-z0-9_-.]*).htm$ /domain.com/app/modules/content/latestNews.php?id=$1 [L]
This redirect works fine on Apache 2.2.8, but doesn't work on Apache 1.3.41
The following is the entry from error_log:
RewriteRule: cannot compile regular expression '^sap-latest-news/([0-9]*)/([A-Za-z0-9_-.]*).htm$'
A simple Rewrite is working fine in Apache 1.3, but the above regualar expression doesn't seem to be working on Apache 1.3. Does anyone know whether Apache 1.3 doesn't support it?

I just installed Windows 2K3 web on a dual xeon (hyperthreading).
When I check out the cpu threads in the "task manager", it only shows 2 cpu threads.
I have always installed win 2K3 std and it shows the 4 cpu threads. So my question is weather the web edition will only show the 2 cpu threads or am I missing something.

I am running into a bit of a problem. Previously, I can add an apache handler through cPanel easily... but now I moved to mediatemplate.net and that feature isn't available on their contol panel. Since they also run apache, I figured that I can set the apache handler manually through an .htaccess file - is that possible? If so, what is the syntax that will enable me to set .html files to be handled like .php files?
There is one setback to this process - this will be a manually inserted file for every directory that I want to do the above stated file handler. Is there an easier way to do this via SSH? I don't have root access, only normal user access.

I have a directory of /flash/1.swf all the way to /flash/4000.swf on my hosting.I am trying with terrible luck to load the flash movies into the container on zomgflash dot com(avoiding possible spam) -- its all setup...it should be loading the movies...I think it's a mod_rewrite problem but I could be wrong...it's basically a clone of iwantmoar dot com(avoiding spam again) -- you'll notice when you type a number after the domain like /238 or /2898 that it loads up /flash/238.swf or /flash/2898.swf into the flash container on the iwantmoar website. That's what I'm trying to get my website to do.
I need them shown like [URL] .... in the address bar... and that would have index.php load up 1.swf in the container if that makes more sense.This is the contents of my .htaccess from my relentless googling:
<IfModule mod_rewrite.c>
Rewrite-engine on
RewriteRule ^([0-9]+)$ /index.php [PT]
</IfModule>
ErrorDocument 404 /index.php

Does anybody know any solution to prevent this?
Basically every customer can bring server down with malformed htaccess.
Is there any solution to prevent this?
This doesn't help:
<IfModule mod_rewrite.c>
RewriteEngine on
RewriteOptions MaxRedirects=5
</IfModule>
this htaccess causes problems:
<IfModule mod_rewrite.c>
RewriteEngine On
RewriteBase /
RewriteCond %{REQUEST_FILENAME} !-f
RewriteCond %{REQUEST_FILENAME} !-d
RewriteRule . /index.php [L]
</IfModule>

I've not seen an answer for this mass 301 redirect issue specifically.. How to do this...
category/brand URLs:
redirect: /ID-some-brand (e.g. /43-religion-clothing or /26-ichiban) to: /some-brand (e.g. /religion-clothing or /ichiban)
Product URLs:
redirect: /some-category/ID-some-product-name.html (e.g. /mens-sweat-shirts/1543-ichiban-fairly-offensive-sweat-in-grey.html)
to: /some-product-name (e.g. /ichiban-fairly-offensive-sweat-in-grey)
We have 1,090 products and 60+ categories so some form of .htaccess trick would be amazing to know. What I could put in the .htaccess to accomplish this.

Well, I was trying to use the following in htaccess, but I get the message of redirect loop.
RewriteCond %{REQUEST_FILENAME} !-f
RewriteCond %{REQUEST_FILENAME} !-d
RewriteRule ^(.*)$ index.php?page=$1 [L,QSA]
What I want to do is this: The URL is like somedomain.sub.com/somepage/s1/s2The index.php is accessible from somedomain.sub.com/somepage/I want to send s1/s2 as $_GET['page']
Also, I don't want the URL in the address bar to change, only the url sent to the server should change. This worked well in my localhost, but on webserver (0fees.net), it doesn't work ...
