the mediatemple DV plan comes with 30 plesk licenses. i was wondering if its possible to manage several domains in one plesk control panel / account, or is it strictly limited to one domain per plesk license? its basically for a bunch of domains i manage myself and id like to be able to manage them all with one login account.
possible?
anyone know the actual price for additional plesk licenses? their KB mentions "competitive prices" but nothing more.

View 3 Replies View RelatedIs it important to have the option to pay monthly or are you happy with term contracts, as long as the price and service standards are there?
View 14 Replies View RelatedI've only ever been with 2 hosts, so I'm not that experienced with web hosting.
But I notice everybody gives a monthly price, but the 2 host's I've used I have payed the yearly sum.
When I first got my host I was 16 and it was quite a bit of money, I could afford the monthly price, but It was a shock to have it all taken in one go.
Is there anywhere out there that you can choose to actually pay monthly, or is it done yearly to avoid the hasstle of setting up a server for someone who after one month decides not to continue paying?
We have been using XenServer Enterprise v4.x, and are quite satisfied with it. The new version (v5) with High Availibility capability is quite a beast.
We are in need of several licenses (Standard/Enterprise) and just want to make sure we are getting the best price. For anybody that uses it, who are you getting your licenses from? And how much are you paying from these resellers?
I am looking for a dedicated server with 50 ip addresses...
with a ubuntu OS....
And I need these IPS for seo hosting........so can anyone recommend anyone good for under 250/monthly ?
And locations I am looking for are California and New York.......
Just wondering, since it appears to be hard to come by, but are there any providers that offer the option to use an automated system in order to provision new licenses for cPanel (or others?)
For example, you're setting up a VPS in the middle of the night, customer wants cPanel. You can't use the trial licenses via cpanel.net since they limit you to 3-4.
If your provider has an automatic API to bill and provision your license, you're good to go. If you don't...
Options? I'm mainly looking in Montreal (I know of Netelligent and Iweb, but both are manual povisioning).
It's not a make-or-break thing, but something nice to have.
we plan to offer dedicated Server with Windows 2008 Webserver. Where we can get the licenses for monthly rent? Contract month to month? You can send us also your offers with PM or at info@1paket.com
possible payment: paypal, moneybookers, wiretransfer
I have a small VPS with Serverways and to be honest I have had no problems with it for a week or so - suprising when you see the spec!
My question is - are there any other providers around the globe (looking for VPS servers all over the place) that would sell me a VPS with the following specs:
CPU 100MHZ
100 MB RAM
10GB SATA (Could probably do with less if needed)
No control panel
100GB Bandwidth on- 100mbps port.
4.90 USD

I just spent three hours digging through a pile of hosting companies trying to pick one, and although lots of them looked nice, were recommended by plenty of people and cost a reasonable amount they required 6months-a year up front. Some of them had a money back guarantee for 30/45/60 days, but what good is that if I have to cough up $60-100+ bucks to decide for a month?
So I'm looking for a list of companies who sell hosting monthly, not just at a monthly fee figured from the bigger time frame you pay for.
Went to go through Precision Effect's site earlier and noticed they're offering "Cloud" hosting?

I just stumbled upon LiquidWeb offering SSD's, are they the first to do so?

My [new] host doesn't offer custom DNS records. Obviously, this upsets me somewhat as I need some custom DNS records (mainly A Records).
Would this be possible:
I've got a few servers with SoftLayer. If I pointed my domain to SoftLayer's nameservers and handled the DNS there, could I simply forward everything to their servers from SoftLayer's "Manage DNS" (such as www, mail, ftp, etc), then create the custom DNS myself? Would this work?
Hope that's clear enough to understand!
If not, is there another possible work-around? I need custom A Records!
Maybe this will help in my search for a web hosting or VPS site. Please reply to this list if you know the data. I'm showing tranfer rates and bandwidth in bytes not bits.
Ipower
Observed transfer rate, throttled to 360KBPS, virtually guaranteeed though. I've seen peaks over 600GB / month with no complaints from Ipower.
Westhost
Average transfer rate 170KBPS, peak rate 250KBPS.
if anyone knows of a good, free tool to monitor how much bandwidth a Windows machine uses monthly. I saw FreeMeter, but I don't know how well that will work to use for a whole month at once.
