Plesk 11.x / Linux :: Unable To Define Superuser Password For Mysql Server On Localhost
Jul 11, 2014
After the upgrade of our Plesk installation from 9.5x to 11.5.30Everything works ok (sites, sites with databases, Plesk etc)but when I go to Home>Tools & Settings> Backup Manager.I see errors on every daily backup I have on schedule:
The backup Plesk_Daily_Full_Backup_1407060112.tar has completed with warnings. (View the details) Close this message
Error:mysql "myuser_drupal"
Unable to define superuser password for mysql server on localhost
Error:mysql "myuser_drupal"

Error:mysql "myuser_wp_eng"
Unable to define superuser password for mysql server on localhost
I get an error when i try to access my webmail(horde) over the i-net i get error Unable to get webmail password every time. The error appeared when i upgraded from 11.09 to 11.5. I also followed this tutorial but it didn't worked too. --> [URL] ....
In Plesk (V. 12.0.18) there is no possibility to create mail accounts for subdomains via web interface. The KB article [URL] ..... describes this problem. The article suggests two possible ways.
I don“t want to use option 1 (create subdomain as additional domain) because a subdomain as domain wastes a domain in the license model.
Instead of that I tried the second way (command line interface). I can execute the first command without problems. When I try to execute the second command, I get the following error: "An error occured during mailname creation: Unable to set password: Domain of type subdomain selected".
i have installed phpMyAdmin becouse I don't like the limitation of db management of Plesk, but I can't find the root password to access in it. I read that Plesk rename "root" user in "admin", but I can't find the password. Where is it?
After changing my web hosting (same system : VPS, same version of linux : CentOS 6 , but passage from Plesk 11 to 12), i am now unable to connect remotely via TCP-IP to my mysql databases (with third-party tools like Mysql Workbench, Toad...) ! I never met this problem before.
The only way to connect is to use a "Standard TCP-IP over SSH" connection method ... but i don't want (i did'nt need this method before) !
Though, remote connections are allowed from any host in the settings.
I define expiration date for my package in my domain and after that date my domain still active. I think this problem related to statistic. When I run this command manullay i'v got the error.
today i changed the password for the admin panel for a customer (username eg. mylogin). 10 minutes later he called me and said that he cannot get into his emailaccount anymore. Checked the password and saw that the emailpassword for his emailaddress (eg. mylogin@mydomain.com) is now the same from the admin panel login. So i changed the emailpassword and checked the admin panel login - it now has the emailpassword. What a mess.. I'm running Plesk Panel 11.5.30 MU47.
I have windows server 2012 and Plesk v12.0.18 #30 - I noticed speed problem.
When I try to connect to mySQL with:
$conn = new mysqli('localhost', 'joomla_***', '*****', 'joomla_test');
Connection takes 1 second!!!When I try to connect with '127.0.0.1' instead of 'localhost' connection takes 0,009 seconds.
1. I tried solution to add line '127.0.0.1 localhost' to c:windowssystem32driversetshosts - but no luck.
2. I tried to edit C:Program Files (x86)ParallelsPleskMySQLDatamy.ini - adding lines bind-address=127.0.0.1 skip-name-resolve then restarted mySql but 1 second lag time on connection was still there.
3. I even tried to disable IPv6 but still no luck
I guess all users windows windows server 2012 has the same problem??!?!...
I am using localhost as mysql server name on my config file. then, when I enter [url], the address will automatically change to[url]that obviously getting error. when I change the mysql server name from localhost to the server public IP, everything seems ok.
My sql is 4.1.x with php 4.4.7, is that any way I may use localhost instead of IP?
My server works perfectly with INSERT, UPDATE, DELETE for mysql. but after like 12 hours later, my application crashes and I get this "Can't connect to MySQL server on 'localhost' (10055)" and I would have to restart my applications and everything will be working perfectly.
Do you guys have any idea why this happen?
I do have a lot of connections coming in and out of my server. Would that mean anything?
I'm trying to set up password protection on an Apache HTTP server, and it's not working.
First, the environment: Apache 2.4.4 installed with XAMPP Control Panel 3.2.1 under Windows 7 Professional.
http.config says "AllowOverride All."
The .htaccess file in the protected directory says:
Code: htpasswd -c .htpasswd samples
htpasswd prompted me for the password twice, and I entered it twice. When it quit I had a file named .htpasswd in the subsidy directory. I typed it and its contents looked correct according to the examples I've seen.
Then I restarted Apache and tried to load a page from the directory. The browser simply prompted me for the username and password over and over.
The Apache error log says, "AH01617: user samples: authentication failure for "/subsidy/filename.html": Password Mismatch."
I deleted the .htpasswd file and ran htpasswd again, specifying a different (very simple) password. I also confirmed that caps lock was not on both before and after. I restarted the server, tried to load a page, and got the same problem.
Apache seems to think I'm entering the wrong password, but that seems impossible when I've just defined it myself -- and I've tried twice, intentionally choosing a very simple password the second time. If the message means what it says, the cause must be something very different from the obvious one.
So, the thing is that I have Parallels Plesk 12 installed on my server running on Ubuntu 14.04. The webmail we are using is roundcube and it has a plugin that allows users to change their passwords. Theoretically the plugin connects to psa database using poppassd. Aaand it almost works, because when you try to change the password and you enter the current password it detects it as good, but it tries to apply the new password it fails.I found this info but it didn't worked for me: URL....
On the other hand, when I open the "Filters" tab i get an "Unable to connect to sieve server".
I noticed that my spamassassin wasn't running on my server. so I restarted the service from the plesk panel but got the following message:
Error: Unable to make action: Unable to manage service by spammng: spamassassin: unrecognized service ERROR:spammng:Unable to start SpamAssassin service ('--start', 'spamassassin')
So I SSH'ed into my machine and saw that spamassassin wasn't running.
The I reinstalled spamassassin from the "add and remove product components", but that didn't change anything. Still the same error.
I recently upgraded to 12.0.18 and I am using Roundcube 1.0 from the panel. I read that the "Unable to connect to sieve serve" problem would be solved in version 12.It seems not. What to do?
On Plesk 11.5.30 I have just patched with SSLfix.sh. [URL] ......
When I run an ssl check I get - Certificate name mismatch
I am also getting the following message
Unable to generate the web server configuration file on the host because of the following errors: Template_Exception: apache2: Syntax error on line 211 of /etc/apache2/apache2.conf: Syntax error on line 73 of /etc/apache2/mods-enabled/ssl.conf: </IfModule>SSLHonorCipherOrder without matching <IfModule>SSLHonorCipherOrder section
I get the following error when let my site connect to my database: Access denied for user 'apache'@'localhost' (using password: NO)
But when im running lil test script which connect to my localhost with the same passwords and it gives the status 'Connection OK' (im running on admin account, made a MySQL account with DA)
Code:
<?php $link = mysql_connect('localhost','admin_removed','removed'); if (!$link) { die('Could not connect to MySQL: ' . mysql_error()); } echo 'Connection OK'; mysql_close($link); ?>
I have a PPP12.0 hosted on ubuntu 12.04, and several websites and domains, mail service active using postfix.
Lets take for example two domains :
www.domainA.com www.domainB.com
DomainA uses postfix DomainB uses an external mail service , MX records are duly entered in the DNS zone of DomainB
If i send a mail from an adress of DomainA, lets say contact@domainA.com to any email of domainB lets say info@domainB.com, the server does not take into account the MX records, and i receive an answer from the server : 550 5.1.1 <info@domainB.com>: Recipient address rejected: User unknown in virtual alias table
But, if i send an email using any other external mail service (gmail, hotmail...), the mail is correctly forwarded to the mail server entered in the MX record of domainB.
There seems to be confusion and documentation conflicts around whether we should be whitelisting localhost or not when using Mailing Lists.
In this documentation it suggests that localhost is no longer needed, and in fact needs to be removed from the whitelist if Outbound Spam protection is to function correctly: [URL] ....
But on the other hand, this documentation suggests to add localhost to the whitelists, even though the warning says otherwise, and that outgoing mailing list mail will still be processed by Outgoing Spam Control. [URL] ....
Through trial and error, i've found that my mailing lists were not able to send mail to external email accounts unless localhost is whitelisted.
If I want all mail scripts to be going through the Outbound Spam Control, and also having my mailing lists working, should I be adding localhost to my whitelist?
I am stuck in re-installing mysql server..... Everything I have removed even mysql service give reboot the machine but still not able to complete the installation.
At the end I receive error " Can't connect to Mysql server with LocalHost (10061)
By the way if port 3306 is not enabled in firewall can this issue be occurred because of this?
I recently received this messsage from in my mailbox "Unable to generate the web server configuration file on the host <nsxxxxxxx.ovh.net>" which is coming now every hour for 4 days now.
I first tried to regenerate an apache conf file with the magic on my Centos 6:
