about a site's script,
im not sure why when user log into the script to change something,
and the folder persission auto 755 to 775,
by the way,it shows 500 internal error,
i check the /var/log/messages,

The VPS will host a number of sites, but I will have sole control of them. ie. the account holders will not have access to cpanel.
If it makes any difference, the server is running phpSUexec.

Dec 3, 2006The folder is according to my FTP program chmod 755 but still when I visit the directory though the web browser it gives me the error "403 Forbidden". When I try to change the chmod in my FTP program I get the error "550 SITE CHMOD command failed.". What can the problem be? Yesturday I could get access to that folder with the MRTG graphs and today, just "403 Forbidden". What can have happened?

SSL And Non-SSL Files In Same Folder
Aug 18, 2008My web host sets up public_html for http and public_ssl for https traffic.
So, if I want my whole site to be secure, I place everything in public_ssl.
However, I am using a shopping cart system inside a CMS.
I want only certain parts to be secure - e.g. the last stage of the checkout procedure.
At the moment, I can only achieve this by having two copies of the CMS/shopping cart, one in public_html and one in public_ssl.
Whilst this approach works (at least from the shopper's point of view), there are lots of problems from a content management point of view.
My host is of the opinion that "this is the only way it can be done".
Is it possible to enable ssl on public_html, have a single copy of the cms there, and then switch between secure and non-secure mode as needed?
If this is possible, can you provide me with a technical description of the setup that I can pass on to my host?

My.cnf File Not In /etc/ Folder
Oct 8, 2008i'm trying to edit my my.cnf file,but unfortunately don't find this file in
/etc/ folder.
It was moved from here, as i find my.cnf.moved with such content

and there is backup file for my.cnf.backup in this folder, but when i rename it
to my.cnf some of my scripts don't work well.
So it mean, that real configuration of my.cnf is fine, just need to increase
one value.
