I am interested in starting a blog, I have never blogged before, have a dedicated server running our business sites and mostly use Joomla CMS.
how to go about building the blog, our mission with the blog is for supporting our primary business, we ultimately want site visitors and lots of them to the blog. So not sure if going with something like domain.blogspot.com is better.
So, do I go with a blogging service(if yes, blogger ... which one?)or do I build a custom blog using Joomla?
Any help here would be great, I am ready to go but keep stopping short feeling unsure of the committment.

I have a blog that is in hosted at blogspot.com. I'd like some help to migrate it to the Wordpress platform, register a domain name, and then host it onto it
Is there someone (who knows someone) who can help out? If s/he can teach me how to set it up myself, or recommend some service providers who can do the job for me, that'd be perfect!

I want to set up a service like zoneedit.com with free name servers and branded name servers etc. Since the name servers will be authoritative I am guessing the bandwith required depends on the number of domains and their popularity. I have some questions
1) Which DNS server is the best one for the job
2) How can one provide branded name servers like instead of ns.myservice.com it would be like ns.userdomain.com. Can it be done by using a simple A record.

I have a domain example.com and it's hosted on my web hosting server. It's nameservers are ns1.mycompany.com and ns2.mycompany.com.
Now I want home.example.com to always point to my IP address, which is dynamic. ZoneEdit has tools which you install on your PC and it will automatically update your zone on ZoneEdit with your IP address if it changes.
For this reason I want to delegate control of home.example.com to ZoneEdit. I've added home.example.com to my ZoneEdit account and on my webserver I've added the following two lines in the example.com zone file:
home IN NS ns2.zoneedit.com.
home IN NS ns17.zoneedit.com.
This just doesn't do it. IntoDns.com gives errors about lame nameservers and home.example.com doesn't want to resolve (even though an A record is configured on ZoneEdit).

I have a dynamic zone with zoneedit.
I'm using ddclient. When the external ip change, ddclient update
the A register.
I see that A register updated in the control panel interface.
But that updated IP does not propagate. I have waited more than one
hour and do not see the changes spread.
Only when I change the A register inside the control panel for any
value and then I change it again into the real value the change is
spread and everything works well.
Looks like ddclient not force reload my zone, only when change the
ip in the control panel.
