Webhostingstuff.com - Dishonest
Jan 16, 2008
I visited webhostingstuff.com after hostevery.com had wasted nearly 2 days of my time (I just got everything transferred over, and they had nearly 2 days of downtime - so I had to get a new hosting account and transfer everything over again!) So I wasnt very happy.
I wrote a very honest, yet negative review of hostevery on webhostingstuff.
I went back today to find that my review had been removed, and the uptime was not showing downtime for the days that they were down.
I find this very dishonst practice, as I bought hosting with hostevery because of thier reccomendation, which I now know was false.
I have since sent them an email asking for an explanation, but all my emails have gone un-answered - Not very professional behaviour is it!
I feel that this is wrong, misleading consumers in favour of sponsor income!

I signed up for an account with webhostingstuff. You know the basics uptime ethics.
Well I am not sure if I never noticed or if this is something they just started. I have been with them for about 4 months and didnt notice till tonight but. I put the code for their site on my site when I click for my uptime report as any customer might. I get an html page about my company thats good.
But then when you look at what they say about uptime being excellent right under it they have now added a box that says EDITORS TOP 3 sared hosting picks. And they give 3 competitor sites. You know the ones who are paying them big money to advertise. If you go to one of the competitor sites on there it does not show this.
I am removing anything to do with webhostingstuff from my site and would advise anyone who doesnt have the kind of money to lay out for advertising that some of the bigger fellas do to do the same. When you look at it to me it says.
This site is ok but here are the ones we think are better. Heck I have enough of a time getting customers I do not need help taking them from me.

I bought 6 months reseller hosting 2 weeks ago. Costing me close to two months of my wages (I'm 15). I have to say, the support is excellent. However, I have had problem upon problem.
I wont write the full list here but 2 domain problems, many things seem not to be ready, for instance, the advertised fantasico scripts only came a few days ago. PhpMyAdmin has had errors twice now. At the moment it is still unresolved. There has been problems with WHM as pages don't appear, although that one has been fixed.
Now, if you go to their website,[url], have a look at their forum, 100% good reviews. I wrote a bad one a few hours ago saying that their customer service was world class but there was far too many errors and I would be leaving them, looking for a new host and claiming my money back.
I looked to see if there was a response only to find my topic was deleted! Do you think they will refund me if I email them and where should I warn other people about them?

Our Web hosting provider withholds access to Cpanel and requires us to pay for each instance we request new FTP accounts, etc. He claims that it is his responsibility to host the site on the server and make sure people don’t have unauthorized access. Is this a valid and industry-standard position?
