And the other way, DirectAdmin -> Cpanel?

Multiple Account CPanel Transfer Without SSH
Nov 6, 2009I have a new dedicated server, and I want to transfer multiple accounts from a reseller package I have with a third party to the new server.
I only have SSH access on the dedicated server so I can't use the Multiple Account Transfer feature of WHM, only the single account transfer feature.
Is there anyway I can transfer multiple accounts without SSH access?
Another question - how can I mass change the MX records of accounts once they are transferred over?

Apr 15, 2007how to fix cpanel multiple account transfer issue. When i use the tool, it logins to my other server but when i select the multiple accounts and click copy it gives error of ssh timeout or password not right.
How to fix this as i need to move alot of accounts.

I now can't get back to the progress screen and I was wondering if I just have to wait until it fully transfers, or if I have to start again?

Dec 28, 2007One of my customer buy new VPS and I am trying to move his forum there.
But problem is his current VPS have only 2% space left. Because of this I am unable to make backup of account.
Is there any solution available for this, I can use new VPS space for backup? or can account transfer direct to new VPS with using current VPS space.?

Feb 23, 2007I'm going to move one of my sites to hostgator.
I have sharing plan on hostgator and going to setup this domain (which i'm going to move) as secondary domain. (addon domain)
Both hosts are cpanel based. on hostgator i have ssh access, which i don't have on my current host
Have backup.tar.gz of my site, but as hostgator staff said, it isn't usefull, as domain must be setuped as secondary domain.!
The main thing is, that i need only /public_html/ directory files to move transfered to new host.
Email, subdomain, databases aliases i move manually and setup. so just now, need to tranfer only static files from /public_html/
so my question is:
As i said above i have site-backup.tar.gz file, which i move to public_html folder of hostgator account.
I know, that to restore this file, i must put in /backup/ and only after this run restore.
I'm going to do it in another way ...
-as the only files that i need are files from public_html folder
-and as hostgator staff response time is more than 3-4 hours
-as i understand backup.tar.gz file is archive file
What, if i put this file in any folder and run tar -xzvf? after this look where are my static files from public_html folder, and move it to their right location , and delete all other files, that i don't need ...

FTP Problem After Account Transfer
May 5, 2009I have transferred accounts from server A to server B, but after transfer process finished, i checked DNS Zone for the accounts in server B, i found that FTP still pointed to server A. How to fix this, i move more than 100 accounts, and it's not possible to change each.
it happen to all DNS record which moved from server A to server B.

Sep 29, 2008I know how to make backups and to transfer each client account separately, but I am just wondering if it is possible to transfer all customer accounts in WHM at once. You see, if for example I have more than 200 customers (hosting accounts) and wish to switch to another hosting company it will be difficult for me to transfer each account separately, that’s why I am asking this question. Mar 30, 2007I have always transfered accounts from one WHM server to another without any difficulty but my new server just stalls with a timeout whenever I try to transfer any accounts from any of my two other servers.
Hopefully it will soon be resolved, however if it isn't is there a simple way of transferring accounts by ssh or what else could I do?

CPanel Or DirectAdmin Using 8GB RAM
Dec 5, 2008I'm trying to decide what panel to get, I've used cPanel and DirectAdmin before so trying to figure out which is best suited for me.
Obviously cPanel has more features but uses more ram. Do I really need all the features of cPanel or can I get by using DirectAdmin?
The server I'm going to get will have 8GB RAM so does it matter that cPanel uses more memory because there is so much ram anyway?

Why CPanel And Why Not DirectAdmin
Jun 22, 2007I have been using cPanel for long and some custom panels like DreamHost and Site5 provide.
I have seen DirectAdmin a couple of times but never used it. Now my question is that:
Why we should we use cPanel instead of DirectAdmin, when:
* DA is cheaper than cPanel.
* People says DA support is better.
* DA have nearly all features cPanel have.
* DA looks prettier than cPanel.
I could be able to state more if I have been using DA.
Now, please list your REAL world reason to not use DA but cPanel. Lets keep it on topic.
My reason, as of now, is:
* Transferring site from cPanel to cPanel is easier than cPanel to DA.
I really need at least 10 reasons for not choosing DA.
