Steaddcom.com - Appalling
Oct 8, 2009How have your experiences been with steadcom.com lately? I recently converted from Vpslink as I seemed to get better latency to steadcom from where I am. Despite being told the setup would take 1 hour (although a grace time of 24 hours is mentioned) the account took 3 days to setup. Several techs told me "it's been setup, and we have emailed you the account details". I run my own mail sever, and was able to prove these emails were not sent to me. 12 hours later a tech say's he has finally created the account (basically making the earlier techs liars, because they clearly hadn't created the account). He went on to explain that they were in the middle of an upgrade and that account creation times had taken a bit of a hit - fair enough I suppose (but why not tell me in the first place?).
I have now had an account for 2 weeks and it's been absolutely plagued with issues. There are 10-12 outages per day of anywhere between 10mins and 8 hours. I have now employed a third party monitoring service which shows how disgraceful their network is.
Email tickets are opened, and I get a short email back saying something along the lines of "try now, it should be fixed" without any information about WHY it happened and WHY it wont happen again. Last excuse I had was "we restarted a router". Do they not have redundancy?
I've really had a guts full, I don't know how anyone could use their service with any amount of confidence. If they'd just explain WTF was going on I might have a little time for them, but this is pathetic.
