CPanel Vs H-Sphere
Feb 25, 2009I've used cPanel in the past and was happy enough with it, I liked having fantastico but on a resller account didn't like that my other sites were more like subdomains and would even show up in searches as such.
Does anyone have experiences (good or bad) with either or both? Would having one or the other be enough to make you go with one host or another? Any general thoughts or advise for a more or less beginner like me would be great as well!
Imountain H-Sphere Vps Is A Performer.
Oct 17, 2007In recent months i was jumping from one vps
to another vps benchmarking and at the same time testing webpages response using webmin.
And, my conclusion is that imountain.com H-Sphere vps has the fastest webpages updates
under the load, even when processor cpu usage is at 80%.
Hmm, how do they do it.
Needless to say i am staying put with them.
H-sphere Host / Email Not Going To Own Domain
Nov 18, 2008One of my domain is hosted with a company who has h-sphere. Last one year everything was smooth and I was very satisfied with them.
3 days ago I found some of the emails stopped sending to the recipients. When the visitors create an invoice they will get the invoice by email and I will get a copy too, but now I noticed that these emails are not going to all the mails for example, when a customer create an invoice it should go to customer@yahoo.com and me@mydomain.com. What I found is it is not coming to me@mydomain.com and if the customer has a gmail address then it is not going too. but if customers email address is customer@xyz.com then he is receiving it.
My Script Works Well On CPanel But Not On H-sphere
May 5, 2008following codes is working well on cPanel based account, but not on h-sphere. I would really appreciate any help / hints from you to fix this issue. Because my new host is using h-sphere.

The code supposed to display the items from the database, but it is not doing it. I don't get any error messages too.
Addon Domains In Same Directory With H-Sphere
Nov 26, 2007I mean create addon domains inside the same directory like cpanel do with H-Sphere?
So you can access the site in both URLS like sub section of your main site and same as its own domain.
MainBigSite.com/MusicSite
MusicSite.com
So you can show like MusicSite.com also a part of MainBigSite when user go through MainBigsite.com direct users from google can go with MusicSite.com
Using that MainBigSite.com will get lot of pages indexed in google coz its hwoing URLs of MusicSite.com too.
If there is no option to do that or any way to change H-Sphere, Can you please tell me how to do it manually? What files to edit and steps?
After i did that it will cause problems with H-Sphere?
DoS Style Malformed GETs From Ronzoo.com
Feb 12, 2008Has anyone else here experienced a 24 hour barrage of malformed GETs with "ronzoo.com" showing in the Agent or Referrer log entries. At first it looks like a genuine search engine spider, with a GET to the default "robots.txt" which is then followed by a 18 to 24 hour barrage of malformed GET requests coming in at the rate of 7,500 to 8,000 a minute.
The malformed GET takes the form of:
[url]
The above is just an example - but the resultant 404 error then shows just the "Go" part. In the original request you sometimes see "ronzoo.com" in the referrer.
These started showing up on the 27th January and are continuing every 2 or 3 days. The source IP addresses are changing between RoadRunner and Hughs.Net DSL accounts, three examples:
70.121.44.37
69.19.14.37
66.82.9.49
We have had 18 attacks - which is really what they are - across a number of different servers we own and operate - against popular websites owned by our clients. The worst lasted 36 hours before we were able to block the source IPs at our perimeter firewall. The shortest attack lasted 5 hours.
We have alerted the relevent ISP's but would be interested if anyone else here has seen this in their logs.
Youtube Style Website
Nov 12, 2008I have a client who wants me to develop a youtube style website. The development i have no issues with, it's the hosting/hardware aspect with which i have no experience. I imagine if there are only 20 people on the site trying to encode videos that memory on a normal server could become an issue. I'd google for some answers but im not even sure what i would google for.

its got a fan in the ceiling of it. I have read that ceiling fans don't do much and its the front to back cooling that really makes a difference. Is this true?

I have Mod-rewrite code turned on for Friendly URLS in options.
But for member profiles in .htaccess. I want it to look like this:

Instead of this:[URL]...
This way members can link friends to their profile easier.Â
