Xenvz Stop My 2 VPSs, Because I Spread Conficker Virus?

Oct 13, 2009

Last month I order 2 Xen VPSs from Xenvz.co.uk and use them for VPN proxy.

But a few days ago, xenvz stopped one vps and state "This is because it is spreading the Conficker virus.". I'm a little surprise because there's only 10+ users on this vps. Most of them use VPN for visting Youtube or P2P download or gaming. And Conficker virus can only run on Windows, but all my vps is running on Debian.

Maybe someone had download something that contain Conficker virus?

Anyway, I had to move a few users to another vps yesterday.

But xenvz stop my another vps today for the same reason!

I really do not know whether or not one of my user is spreading or other reason, but as I know, Conficker virus had affected thousands of hosts in the past. If someone download or being affect by conficker for any reason, provider then stop their host, I'm afraid thousands of sites would down.

Apache2 Worm?

Apr 28, 2009

Usually our website traffic is about 50 MB/day in our dedicated server. From these past 2 days it's consuming 5 GB/day and Apache2 opens so many processes/connections that our router can't handle and turns our WAN/LAN extremely SLOW!

If the reboot the server, it calms down but soon the apache2 starts again to open the connection (+1000).

Can this be a worm? I'm using Ubuntu Server 8.04.

SLOW Internet: Worm

Apr 28, 2009

My Company's Internet connection is damn slow! Even our gigabit LAN is damn slow! I've tried to reboot our router/modem/switches but this hasn't solve anything. Sometimes a connection to google drops out many packets.

Could this could be a worm/botnet running in our network? We have centralised Symantec Endpoint Security that didn't detect anything.

I have also noted one of our servers is consuming too much memory! How can I detect if our server was hacked or is any worm running inside our network?

Windows 2003 Server Virus Worm

Jul 24, 2006

I have ClamWin on the server and it says the following after a 7 hour scan. I notice there is an option to remove files but not sure if i should.

C:WINDOWSjavaclassesjavavm.exe: Worm.Mytob.FN FOUND
C:WINDOWSsystem32TskMan.exe: Trojan.Servu.1 FOUND
C:WINDOWSsystem32wmc.exe: Trojan.RAdmin-2 FOUND

I have also ran the Microsoft Windows Malicious Software which says it has removed them, restart, and they are back.
