Fuminet ..

I have been with fuminet for over a month now I have 2 servers with them and at first their support was okish (sometimes I had to wait hours for replys though)and then last Wednesday I get an email from Ryan Dawson the owner saying he and Cherry (his wife) are leaving the company, here is the email:

Hello,

It is with great regret that I announce that myself and Cherry (my wife) are stepping down from fumiNET LTD. We have sold off our share of the company in order to focus on a more specialist area, as we no longer have the required time to devote to this company. Form 288b has already been filed with (and accepted by) Companies House, so as of 18:43 (GMT) today � I am no longer a part of fumiNET Solutions. This does not affect our development clients, as there is only one currently � and I will be taking care of them personally.

The new director of fumiNET LTD is Alex Jenson, and he can be reached via a.jenson@fuminet.com with any questions that you might have.

I am sad to go, but I know that the new director will be able to give this company the attention that it truly needs. It may be shaky over the next couple of days, but I am happy to say that he will be bringing on additional staff � and launching a new range of services in the near future. Some of you may be happy to know that he will be re-enabling Paypal as a payment option. He will be sending out an announcement within the next 24 hours. We�re just waiting for form 288a to go through. J

I never got an announcement and have been finding it very difficult to contact them whichever way I try. And now I find both servers are down.

Is anyone else having trouble with them? I have noticed Dawson still comes on the forum sometimes. An update on this would be good if you or Alex the new owner are reading this.

Findings From The Last Two Days On FumiNET

This is my findings from the last two days on FumiNET.

I had found them here on WHT and began browsing their website. It looked alright, they had decent pricing. I began speaking to them about reselling their UK lines, and their cheap "Berkshire" line was very appealing to me. I asked for more information and began planning with the HostingForYou staff because it seemed feasible.

I spoke to "Dawson" who goes by the email root@fuminet.com. He assured me the pricing was sustainable and said that their "partner" company was eating the bills on the losses. I was gullable enough to bite and decided to set up the offers and post them here on WHT. I was then contacted by a few very kind WHT members who told me that they would be losing at least $800 a month per rack and I immediately had began pulling the order links. (This was entirely stupid on my part to even go along with this).

I then began to look further into this "company". I went to WHT IRC just because I wanted to go there and I just hapened to land during a discussion about this company ...

FumiNet And Dawson Is A Scam Artist

I know the the threads on FumiNet have been closed, but I wanted to share some information AS an actual customer of FumiNet and after getting a little bit more information.

Dawson actually offered to host a non-profit client of mine for free and about 2 weeks after that I was starting a new project and figured I would get a server with him, as he had good prices.

I paid for the server and 2 days later I bought an SSL certificate. All communication was directly with Dawson. Well come about 3 days ago, my 1 year SSL certificate expired (after 30 days), he actually set me up a 30-day free trial certificate.

So, among all the other odd things, I think that is a pretty good piece of evidence that he did something shady. And he caused some serious damage for a non-profit organization...
