Jan 20, 2007I have a question getting the setup of my DNS and email server working correctly.
In my mailserver, lets say I set the SMTP server to mail.BLUE.com. Through my DNS, I set an MX record for mail.BLUE.com and I set an A record for mail.BLUE.com to 1.1.1.1.
I create different domains on my mail server and give each an IP address. BLUE.com is 1.1.1.1. RED.com is 2.2.2.2. GREEN.com is 3.3.3.3.
Each domain is setup in my DNS as a forward lookup zone. Each domain has an MX record (mail.domain_name.com) and a A record (pointing mail.domain_name.com to it's IP address). There are other records of course... but they're not important for my question.
When I want to check or send mail from BLUE.com I use mail.BLUE.com. When I want to check or send mail from RED.com I use mail.RED.com. I do this for all my email accounts.
But, when I check dnsstuff.com on any domain besides BLUE.com, it tells me the following:

mail.RED.com claims to be host mail.BLUE.com [but that host is at 1.1.1.1 (may be cached), not 2.2.2.2].

Now... this can send and receive mail just fine... but I think this may cause issues when it comes to SPAM settings (some servers may consider our mail SPAM because we're "pretending" to be a different mail server).
So... here's my question... what's the best way to set everything up to run multiple sites and email accounts on one server?
How can I use 1 SMTP mail server (BLUE.com) and get my other domains to pass the dnsstuff.com test?
Apache :: Compiled Version Does Not Match Loaded Version
Mar 26, 2014I am running Apache on a Windows server and it is up and running.I downloaded and installed:
Apache 2.4.9 Win32 [Apache VC11 Binary] httpd-2.4.9-win32-VC11.zip
And included ModSecurity from download: modules-2.4-win32-VC11.zip..
The version of ModSecurity is mod_security-2.7.7 . It is up and running, but I get a warning:
ModSecurity: Loaded PCRE do not match with compiled!
Here's the difference in the PCRE from the logs:
PCRE compiled version="8.33 "; loaded version="8.34 2013-12-15".
The compiled version does not match the loaded version. Is this something I should be concerned about and try to find compiled versions that match?

Jun 1, 2007loading a phpinfo() shows that the mysql variable "Client API version" on my server doesn't match the version of mysql installed ( 4.0.20 when mysql version is 4.1.21).

We are running apache1 with php5.
I would like to upgrade to apache2 (httpd2) and recompile php.
I found myself some bit stuck, the WHM won't allow me to upgrade my apache version and only upgrade the current installed version.
Is there a build script somewhere out there that will do this for me?
Installing A Different Version Of Gcc
Jan 4, 2008I am having a problem with a specific program im using and the developers are telling me that there is an mmap bug with the gcc version of centos 5.1 possibly including the libstdc++ libraries.
I have everything updated so my only recourse right now is to try a different compiler.
Is it possible to install a different version of gcc along with the one that comes with the distro?
I remember way back I tried to change gcc versions and all hell broke lose, almost everything was dependent on distro gcc.

Two Version Of My.cnf, Neither Of Them Works For Me
May 29, 2007I got two version of my.cnf, but neither of them works ideally.
On one hand, If i used the old one, the swap memory will be used out after 5-7 days running and system halt.
On the other hand, the second copy of my.cnf will cause too much pain on cpu, even traffic is low, cpu could up to 70 or 80 percentage and hanging there for 1 minutes.
I did a lots optimization in the past (including httpd.conf, my.cnf, sysctl.conf ), and found that the only problem left on my server would be my.cnf, I have to get it right this time!
So I would be really appreciate if you guys can help me out.
