Connecting To Remote MySQL Failing
I'm facing some odd issues with 2 servers located in the same datacenter.
One server is the HTTP server, and every 5 minutes it works, then for 5 minutes Server One and Server Two (MySQL) hate each other and refuse to talk to each other. Not only can neither not connect to each others MySQL, but also neither can ping each other.
The odd thing is, Server Three can however connect to the Server Two MySQL with no problems during this period. It seems to be just the communication between Server One and Server Two that keeps getting halted.
I've tried "service iptables stop" to disable the firewall, and changing SELinux to disabled, but neither have fixed it.

Cpsrvd & MySQL Is Failing
I using PSM (for MGT) & Cyberwurx (hosting) and we're having a heck of time getting our server up and running. HISTORY: Our server ran fine for years. Cyberswurx was very responsive and PSM solved every issue. Last week, a hacker accessed our server through an "calender" script and was able to deface the index.html pages of all the accounts and setup redirects. We had Cyberwurx reinstall WHM/CPANEL and had the server cleaned of all corrupt files. PSM restored all the accounts on WHM. PROBLEM: 1. CPSRVD is constantly failing. 2. When we restart MYSQL server, the server become overloaded. 3. Then it goes offline. Cyberwurx will reboot the server. Then we start over again... Platinum Server Mgt has worked on this since last Wed. We are constantly going back and forth between PSM & Cyberwurx.

Allow Remote Mysql Access
I have a Ubuntu Lamp server setup in my building which is used for development purposes. So I also have phpmyadmin setup and am using a Mysql Query browser and Mysql Administrator desktop programs to administor the database on the server. However I am not able to connect to the server from my desktop. I am able to login to my myphpadmin but not able to login via the Mysql Query Browser program. Hopwing someone can help. I have read about port forwarding and also read a post about editing the my.cnf file on the server and changing the Bind-Address= 127.0.0.1 to the actual hostname but before I start editing the actual configuration files on the server I want to see if their is another way as I am worried that if I change the me.conf file that the phpmyadmin may stop working?

Remote MySQL 5.0 Hosting
I'm running a VPS at TekTonic.net and so far I have only one problem. I love TekTonic's services in general, but for some crazy reason, I can't get my MySQL server to work. I've asked MySQL's support staff, and they haven't found an answer to date. I can do just about anything on my MySQL server EXCEPT add/remove a database, which creates a problem. A BIG problem. what I'm looking for now is a remote MySQL host that will accept connections from my TekTonic-hosted VPS.

i have two server one for running apache and second is sql server.Now come to problem. I have a very strange type of ddos attacks on my httpd server and due to these attacks my apche server failed many times (10 to 15 times)in a day. When i checked max http connection use by a single ip then i am surprised to see that my remote sql server ip is using maximum of http connections and behind this there is some other ips whose doing the same. I installed media layer it seems to work fine for me but suddenly he blocked my remote sql server ip due to using maximum http connection lolz its very strange any body please help me out of this problem.

Users Cannot Connect To Remote MySQL Server
I have a few users that have a hosting account with me and are trying to connect to their own MySQL servers elsewhere. Both said that they are able to connect to the MySQL server with other hosting accounts but not the ones hosted with me. I asked if they had setup permissions to allow remote connections from my server and they confirmed that they did. What am I missing? Do I need to configure my firewall somehow? I figured the connection is just using port 80 since it's from an PHP script right?

Remote MYSQL (cPanel) Small Error
I have create a remote mysql database in whm for another server on my network. Now my problem is that the remote mysql in fact works as the data is still being pulled from it with mysql disabled on the main server. I did however put in the root password during the remote mysql server setup. Now the only problem I seem to be having is the databases dont show up in any cpanel accounts and phpmyadmin doesnt work. but all sites using a database made before this change still work.

Connect To Mysql From Many Remote Virtual Hosts
I have a set up where server 1 holds a mysql DB and a virtual host. server 2 holds many virtual hosts in apache (16) connecting to this DB. The virtual hosts all hold the same script, but the single VH on server 1 receives about the same amount of visits as all the VHs of server 2. server 1 is very busy at times, like 100% CPU and a load around 10 for long period of times. server 2 is not very busy, around 30% CPU usage and 0.6 CPU load. Yet, users on server 2 experience *much slower* response times than the ones on server 1. The obvious reason could be the network between the two, but I'm not convinced (6 seconds for a query run from server 2 when it brings back 1 row and takes 0.01 second from server 1). I was wondering what other reasons it could be. MySQL Remote Connection Problem After A Heavy Usage
I have 2 identical Fedora8 boxes with Apache 2.2.8, MySQL 5.0.45 and PhP 5.2.4. I use one as the Web+DB server (say box A), and the other (box B) just as the Web server connecting to the DB server on box A. I use this 2 machine configuration to test a LAMP based-Web application. I have a client program on other machines that can emulate a massive web workload to these 2 servers; it can emulate hundreds to thousands of users using the application simultaneously. Before running the test, the connection to the DB server from both boxes seem fine. Using the mysql client program on either box A or B trying to connect to the DB, the connection goes through instantly. In the /etc/my.cnf file, I have max_connections=4096 and max_user_connections=4096. Note that the web app uses one single db user to connect to the db. To allow remote connection, I inserted one record into the user table of the mysql db whose the host field's value is '%' (allow connection from all remote hosts). After running the test (which I found out that many requests sent to box B failed), mysql client program on box A is still able to connect to the db instantly; but the one on box B has a problem: it takes extremely long (5 - 10 minutes or even more) to establish the connection, it doesn't time out, just takes that long. I believe that's the cause for the failure of requests to box B.

I've now VPS with CentOS and on Hypervm. Can I connect to it using VPN or other client application as Desktop? or only Shell? and if I want to setup on it ftp client like FileZella to get my files from the previous host directly what should I do? I know the wget command but I think it for a single file and of course can't get php files so I think in ftp client application.

Connecting Several Services Together,
I've purchased a NL Master reseller (about to purchase one in the US) and then a small VPS to see what more I could do, after transferring my site over to the VPS from the NL server I thought I'd come up with the idea with selling master reseller accounts, (both from NL and US master reseller services) the reason I came up with is because the VPS isn't to large to really do anything but seems perfect to keep a database, payment portal, WHMCS, my site, and hopefully all of my client information. What i want to do is somehow connect all 3 together so that when i do create a new client in LxAdmin I can select witch server I want to create it on and what package/permissions and what not, all from the VPS. Example: LxAdmin -> create client -> fills out form basically similar that to the one in WHM Resellers/VPS run CentOS Linux WHM: 11.24.2 cPanel: 11.24.4-R35075 CENTOS 5.2 i686 virtuozzo So basic question, is all this possible ? this including domains/email/ftp/ect.

Connecting To My Server
We are currently having a server with serverloft and as we are in the trial phase have just a few trial websites hosted on it. Now since today we have a curious issue on one of our website It is not being accessible via a particular network of computers even though till yesterday this network of computers was able to connect to the website. The website is working fine from all other computers and networks that we are trying to access it from. Now my question is how is this possible. The DNS is configured correctly as the website is being accessed by other networks and has been hosted on this server for quite some time Also this same network of computers was able to access this website until a few hours ago No changes have been made to any IP firewall or any other server settings at our end. When we run a tracert from this network it says Unable to resolve target system name I dont know if the blame lies with the ISP as till yesterday this network was able to access everything fine

SSH/Shell Not Connecting
I'm having a problem connecting to SSH/Shell on my server. I get the Login Prompt, but when i enter the User/Pass i just get "SSH-2.0-OpenSSH_3.6.1p2", everything under that is blank. Connecting Time Issue
When traffic to my website gets heavy, connecting to the server really slows down. But, when connected, the site loads very fast and smooth. So why does it take like 4-12 seconds to connect to my server when traffic is heavy, and once connected it runs fast and smooth? I run Apache 2.2.3 on Debian 4. HostnameLookups is set to OFF. I have turned off all of the modules that I don't need, too. It also has MySQL 5.0 installed and is being used.

Backup Server, Connecting
I got my backup server yesterday. It's connected to the second NIC on my main server, where I have all of my domains/accounts. The server provider gave me a password and a ip address to the backup server, 192.168.x.x I have tried to log in to the backup server with ssh and ftp from my main server. Nothing happens, I can't connect. Am I doing something wrong? I thought it just was to log in to my main server, and then ssh or ftp to the backup server.

Httpd Keeps Failing
for the past 4 days i have being having problems with my Apache server. on day one i noticed it was going down irregularly over day 2/3 it got progressively worse by last night httpd would only work after i restarted it then 5minutes later it failed again. now it wont start at all every time i tried restarting from whm it just says 'httpd failed' ive also tried restarting from shell but no joy. ive tried rebuilding apache from whm that hasn't helped either. one error i was getting was 'invalid user name' of a user who i terminated yesturday.

Just got this server setup, getting some smart errors. Before I used to get around 5-6 a day emails saying that httpd has failed and a restart has been attempted automatically. After I increased the max clients in the httpd.conf the number reduced 1-2 emails a day. I am not sure what the problem exactly is Is it because my sites are using up high bandwidth?

Bind Keeps Failing
For some reason BIND keeps failing on my cPanel server every couple of days. There are no error logs in the /var/logs/messages file concerning the crash but when I manually restart bind then it logs messages just fine and I can see them. Does BIND keep any other error logs? Today it seemed to coincide with a big movement in system memory, here my munin graph: [url] I have ran the “fixeverything” script which attempts to correct any errors in the bind config file but it still crashes. I couldn’t see anything wrong with it ayway.

Connecting Domain To Dedicated Server
I have a dedicated server and a domain I bought from godaddy. The dedicated server currently runs from an IP. So if I were to visit 79.xxx.xxx.xxx/whm, I would be able to access WHM. However, how do I change the IP to go to a domain? So when I go to the domain xxxxx.com/whm I go to the server's whm, and so that I can use the domain to host my site.

Error Connecting To Cpanel Server
I seem to be having problems every 20 accounts i create through clientexec work fine than i whole bunch dont i seem to be able to fix it by using a new hash key. However it happened again at 44 accounts i dot have any idea what to do! i get a error log saying this. If it helps all the signups are over 2 days. Sorry, we could not create the account. Connecting Remotely To Win2003 Server?
I have a problem connecting to my win2003 server from my work. The thing is that everything is turned off. I dont have administration rights. The remote connection in win xp doesnt work, telnet also dont work. Im behind proxy, all ports are closed. Is there any way, to install software on my server or smth else, so somehow i could connecti to my server remotely? I need to be able to connect to gui interface or maybe just be able to start programs, which crashed.

Failing Controller Or Drive
one of my servers has 2x250gb hard drives in hardware RAID 0 using a 3ware controller, but ive now got the following error message 3 times prior to 3 server crashes, my server supplier beleves it one of the drives failing (i have backups on a non raid drive so rthats fine) but i suspect the controller, whats everyone else think... HTTPD Failing .. Troubleshooting
I noticed all of my sites were down earlier.. so I tried restarting apache via WHM.. and that didn't work, said the following: Waiting for httpd to restart.... . . . . . . . . . . finished. httpd status root 8103 0.5 0.8 30892 29264 ? S 12:28 0:00 /usr/local/cpanel/whostmgr/bin/whostmgr ./reshttpd httpd has failed, please contact the sysadmin. I tried rebooting.. same issue. how to troubleshoot this? This is very bad!

CentOS Update Failing
I'm having a problem with my CentOS 5 box. for some reason the update will not work. I run yum update, The update starts, then when it gets too downloading the packages I get the following error for every single RPM. [url]: [Errno 4] IOError: <urlopen error (114, 'Operation already in progress')> Trying other mirror. The RPM's can be downloaded just fine if I copy and past that URL in my browser. I don't understand why the server can't open that URL Does anyone know of a fix for this? Or is anyone else at iWeb having the same problem.

AmeriHost Failing Me For 8 Weeks Now...
The second week of July AmeriHosting moved my VPS to a new server or something and changed my IP addresses. No big deal, except the move failed miserably. My sites were down for a week. Shortly thereafter, email was down also for a week. What had worked on the old VPS did not work reliably on the new VPS. Messages sent to support went unanswered, or were given inadequate responses. They also could not go back to the old VPS which was working acceptably (and had for 2 years); I do not know why. No backup was made or else they could have gone back. That's what I think anyway. On the new VPS they did not have the same version of PHP or PHP modules. This broke some of the sites; and asking them to correct the problems as they were discovered took several days up to a week. Now the first week of September, and problems persist. This time I cannot issue a backup in Virtuozzo. This has been going on for 2 weeks. I get a response every couple of days about this is being looked into and they will respond, but no one ever does. I've been told on several occasions the past week that they were going to move me to a new VPS but keep my IP addresses; this has not yet happened and it has been a week. Twice I was told it would take only a few minutes to do this and it would be done that day. It has not yet been done. To add to the matter, I prepaid for a year, and I have 6 months hosting left with them. So I feel pretty damn screwed. My largest hosting customer has just moved sites from my service to another service this past week, so I am clearly losing revenue from this ordeal. Phone calls have gone unanswered (during the freakin' day!). Messages to billing and support get absolutely no response. Tonight I left a message that I wanted the name of the president or owner and his phone number so that I might enlighten him about the problems his customers are having and the dire straits his business is in. At one time I would have recommended AmeriHosting. Not now. Not ever. Don't even consider AmeriHosting. They'll **** you good at some point and harm YOUR business and YOUR CUSTOMERS' businesses, too.

Spamd Is Constantly Failing
I have been using my Server for a decent while, All of a sudden of the last month it has decided that it wants to play a game. "Spamd" keeps failing and automagically restarts. It restarts and works, But then Fails once again a few hours later. One morning I woke up to 7 error messages with the same service. By Restarting Exim it resolves the issue but it happens hours later. I have tried mostly of what I can think of. Does anyone have any other thoughts on this issue and how it can be resolved?
