I am thinking about using 49pence to colocate a couple of 2U servers.

Has anyone used them in the past? What was the service like? Do you get physical access to the servers?

Their packages seem fairly cheap and im unsure if thats a good thing or not!

Their package consists of..

This package includes:

* 1 Power Connection(s)
* 3000 Gigabytes of Data Transfer Volume per Month

This package also includes:
* Free KVM over IP access
* Backup and primary DNS
* 24/7 automated reboots of your server
* 24/7 Telephone support
* Comprehensive server monitoring
* Email and SMS alerts if your server has problems

£59 per month (Excluding VAT)
No setup fee

49pence Randomly Changing Passwords

Jul 24, 2008

Today we received an email saying that the admin password for the server had been changed by them and that we should log in and change the password again ourselves.

49pence have provided no explanation as to why the password was changed and despite multiple requests have refused to give any kind of explanation. I've also asked to speak to a manager and this request was denied (well, more ignored and I was given the same line that they cannot disclose why they changed a customers' password).
